Really? I'm a huge fan of the genre and most of what I have read was more middling. That the whole package is nice but setting aside the Persona stuff that it's an average rhythm game at best. Either way I've cooled enough that I'll wait for a sale when Project Mirari is really excellent.
It's got lots of 9s and 10s in reviews. Gamespot gave it a 5/10 but it's a major outlier and iirc the reviewer wasn't fond of the story mode for some reason. but yeah, I definitely read a lot of positive stuff about it. Not 'the best rhythm game ever' type comments, but certainly 'excellent' and 'top tier' type comments.

But again, i have no interest in the game, genre, or franchise so can't really speak towards any of the various game comparisons I read since i don't know how one game plays differently from another in the genre.

a couple of the positive reviews I read:

http://www.gaming-age.com/2015/09/persona-4-dancing-all-night-review-for-ps-vita/

"All in all, I’m super impressed with Persona 4: Dancing All Night. It essentially hits every high mark when it comes to the rhythm genre, while at the same time delivering a great story with a cast of characters that I certainly love. So I’d absolutely urge you to pick this up come September 29th, it’s a PS Vita release you shouldn’t miss."

http://gamingtrend.com/reviews/dance-your-own-dance-persona-4-dancing-all-night-review/

"While it’s hard to deny that this rhythm spin-off of the RPG series is anything more than unabashed fan service centered around Persona 4’s excellent soundtrack, what it offers is an incredibly challenging and euphoric homage to the characters and music that fans have grown to love over the years."

-----

But honestly, most of the stuff I remember weren't reviews, but people discussing it who had already played it and were enjoying it.

If you're expecting 80%+ off for games that released within the past two or three months, you'll be disappointed the vast majority of the time.
No. Certainly not expecting that. But there are games on that list that have been out for a long time with only 20-30% discounts with PS+.

Sure if Until Dawn or Max Max were on sale for 20-30% off, I'd be more than happy for that.

Although some of these games are re-releases or games that were on Xbox One that I forget that they are somewhat "new" for PS4.

Wow, they just cut the price of Soul Calibur Broken Destiny to twenty dollars! How completely, utterly, mindblowingly generous!

That game has been ten dollars (or less) in Europe, like, forever. Geez, Namco, get on the ball.

The oldest game on that list came out on May 22. The rest are June and newer.

That's fine, but this is for the PS4 version.
Except that version has absolutely no added content and is just a slightly prettier version of what was on PS3.

Is the PS4 version any different? New gameplay, expanded story, etc?

If it's not, I still wouldn't pay more than $5.99. Wouldn't be surprised if they're giving this one away on PS+ for free in a few months.
Nope.

The whole Brothers game re-release and even print to blu-Ray shows the state of console development these days. A thousand Assassin Creeds rehashes and even copying hand-held concepts to add to the console libraries (Nintendo and Sony both guilty ).
The whole toys to life is now a severely saturated market. They really need some fresh air in this industry (and I'm not referring to another 3ds redesign by Nintendo ) ...end of rant

That's fine. I'm not commenting on value. I'm just commenting that they are two different platforms that you can't necessarily compare pricing for. You may as well compare sale prices of the Xbox360 version to the PS4 version if you're going to do that.

The market will correct itself. It always does. Assassin's Creed has clearly taken a hit in sales (not that they're doing bad, though). Ubisoft doesn't seem to be forcing too many new annual franchises now. Even Call of Duty is seeing diminishing returns - though they're still far from dead, too. We're starting to see better stuff come and take longer to develop. I'm sure there will still be plenty of room for improvement for some time, but I think it's starting to get a little better. Also, Microsoft probably did a huge favor to the industry by introducing backwards compatibility to the console since now it will be harder for publishers to justify ports unless they bring something more significant with their port.

Also, toys to life has probably peaked. Three different games with dozens of add-ons each will make that market crash soon enough. There's rumors of other copy-cats too, which will make the crash even faster and harder.

Gee, Tales of Xillia for $20 or both it and the older Graces F for $50. I think somebody might have messed up on calculating that.

Maybe my brain is fried or something, but this makes almost no sense. I'm not understanding what point you're trying to make.

I think he's trying to say that there's too many re-releases and rehashs. Probably could have worded it better. But think that's what he's saying.

Seems odd that we are not too far away from the next batch of PS+ free games and there is no poll or tangible info on them. I wonder if there is ape thing going on with the team that negotiates those contracts

There was a tweet today that they are aiming for tomorrow, but that could change like the time we heard nothing until the day they were released into the store.

Super Meat Boy is "confirmed" and AC4 is highly rumored.

I think it's way too late for a poll. That's probably something they'll just do every few months or something.

Don't get me wrong I want this to be the best thing ever so badly and it still sounds like it's a good game. But when you want something so badly and have just finished something in the same genre that you didn't even know you wanted and was surprisingly excellent (Project Mirai DX) it's just a formula for let down. I'm 100% picking it up and playing it sooner than later (and still excited to do so) but between the Atlus tax, lackluster CE, and probable disappointment I've cooled enough on it to wait a couple weeks.

Knowing how my preferences align with this writer's I'm expecting my feelings on it to be about the same:

"I like playing it just fine, but I don’t think it’s an exceptional rhythm game. The story is interesting, but I’m not sure if it came to a satisfying conclusion despite a really impressive amount of text. The songs are… well, okay, the songs are just wonderful, and I could listen to the Persona 4 soundtrack all day. It’s a game that does a lot of things kind of okay, adding up to a game I like even as I’m disappointed."

So looking like there's no publisher sales this week, which is odd....not that we are missing much by not having the same old sales cycling through every few weeks.

If you don't care about Persona, I have no clue why you'd bother with Dancing All Night. It's all fan service.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/09/29/ps4-system-software-update-3-00-out-930-take-a-visual-tour/

PS4 Firmware 3.00 launches tomorrow. The highlights with example images in the blog post:

Sharing video clips to Twitter: Now it’s easy to share video clips to Twitter directly from your PS4. You’ll see a new icon on the Upload Video Clip menu, nestled between Facebook and YouTube. Maximum video length is 10 seconds, though you’ll have the ability to trim longer clips. Don’t forget — you can double tap the Share button to start recording a video, and press it again to stop.

PlayStation Plus: We’ve made a dedicated section for PlayStation Plus, which you can access by clicking the big Plus icon on the top left corner of your PS4 home screen. Once there you can easily manage your membership, see the monthly free games to download, deals for PS Plus members, and all of the games you’ve redeemed through PS Plus on PS4.

YouTube live: You’ll see a new icon for YouTube on the Broadcast Gameplay Screen, accessible after hitting the Share button. Now you can live stream directly from your PS4 to YouTube. Livestreams will be viewable across YouTube.

PNG Screenshots: If you’d like your game screenshots to be in a higher quality format, you can now select PNG instead of JPEG. To access, press Share > Share Settings > Screenshot Settings > Image Format.

Events: A new hub for Events has been added to PS4, accessible from the home screen. This will give you an overview of activities taking place in the games you play most, as well as official broadcasts. For instance, here’s an in-game racing event taking place in Project Cars, which you can register for directly from the Events hub.

Improvements to Messages and Favorite Groups: We’ve improved Messages by making it easier to access groups of people you chat and play games with frequently. Once you’re added to or create a group, you’ll see the online status for friends, what games they are playing, and the option to message or chat in party all in one spot. When you add or create a new favorite group, they’ll appear in your Friends app under Favorite Groups for quick access. For example, you can see we have favorite groups for Call of Duty, Rocket League, and Destiny.

Communities: PS4 users will have the ability to create communities based around shared interests, like games, genres, and more. Communities include a message board with general discussion, screenshots shared by players, and the ability to join parties / games.

Stickers: From the PS4 system’s Messages app, you’ll see a new option for Stickers. The 3.00 update will contain stickers themed around Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Knack, LittleBigPlanet 3, Resogun, and more. Instead of typing out a message, just send a sticker — like Drake looking at a watch, asking you to wait a minute.
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/09/29/rivals-ps4-beta-begins-september-30th/

The Hardware: Rivals beta launches on PS4 tomorrow for PS+ people. They say that you automatically get a key upon launching the game and that they're releasing keys in groups, so they're limiting how many people can get. The one alternate option is that those that get in can invite a friend to join if they missed out.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/09/29/among-the-sleep-coming-to-ps4-on-december-10th/

Among the Sleep is out for PS4 on 12/10. They say it took so long because they wanted to move the game to newer versions of Unity to help it look as good as possible and had to do a lot of work to fix the many physics issues and such that popped up as a result.

Opinion time folks. I see that Mega Man Legends is now on PSN for $9.99. I'm very excited about this. It is one of my all time favorite games. In my joyfull state I thought I would make a post announcing this, but I had second thoughts. $9.99 isn't a deal it's MSRP. I'm guessing making a post on nondeal pricing is frowned on.

Is there a thread that tracks new PSN additions that I've over looked? Should I or someone else announce the glory that is Mega Man Legends?

But you'd be late to the party either way.

Definitely getting Nathan Drake collection on launch after playing the demo. I've beaten Uncharted 1 & 2 three times each but still haven't played more than 15 minutes of 3. Maybe I'll finally get to it now lol.

The only theme is a pre-order bonus for the game. If there actually was a free theme, I'd have posted about it earlier.

Thursday marks 6 months since it's release! Hoping a deal comes soon goddamnit.

If only Sony could secure a deal with Disney to bring ESPN to Vue then I would sign up.

But I'm pretty sure Disney is demanding:

- $8 or more per subscriber
- Sony to take ALL their channels like ESPN, ESPN 2, Disney Channel, ABC Family, Disney XD and to include it in the Core package (which will then make the Core package price go up.

Plus, it looks like Sling TV has a better relationship with Disney than Sony currently.

*sighs*

Pretty bad sale this week IMO. Usually when PSN has crap sales Gamefly usually has a good sale so maybe we'll get one of those this week. If not it's all good, I need to pre order Fallout 4 anyways

I'm getting it so I can play it as intended. I beat all three on PS3 (and Golden Abyss on Vita) but the PS3 controller is terrible for third person and first person shooters or maybe I just suck with it. So, I put them on Easy and just played through them for story.

I played last of us on PS3 with normal difficulty and it took me almost two weeks because the PS3 controls and then when it released on PS4 I had it beat in two days because I can finally accurately aim!

Graces F is $34.99, so adding Xillia is $55. $5 off for the pleasure of not adding two games to your cart.
The point being Graces F taking up a larger chunk of the bundle price despite being the older game. Although I didn't realize that the individual price was still that bad. Kind of odd that it hasn't been included in the drops.

You've probably got another 6 months of waiting. Why not save the $20 up and pay the dude who spent 5 plus years making it by himself for the hard work he put in on a great game?

I know this is CAG but seriously if you can't scrap $20 to reward those who truly deserve it then I don't know what to tell you other than I hope it never goes on sale.
