I fail to see how driving a Ferrari would be a bad thing or somehow less cool even in a police station parking lot. It's not like you really get to open one of them up on the regular roads anyway.
I will probably never get within 50 feet of driving a car like that but they seem to not be particularly enjoyable street driving cars since they're really not designed for that.

Of course - and if having a credit card attached doesn't work for you, that's fine, but there's plenty of valid reasons to leave a CC attached. [/spoiler]
Other than affa being lazy I'm still waiting for a second reason. ;)

Y'all are missing the best reason to not have a CC attached. It cuts down on impulse purchases. If I have to go to the store or take the extra step to buy another code on Amazon because I only have a limited amount of PSN funds, then maybe I'll think twice about buying something that I don't really need...like FF7 with the free theme.

That being said, I keep a few spare PSN cards in a drawer for emergencies, like a Flash sale pricing of Fantavision.

I am so stoked.
Definitely. The inconvenience factor gives a little more time for a reality check.

I like buying the cards anyway because there's no bill to pay later as I can just grab a card while buying groceries or whatever. I do the bills so I don't have to hide any purchases, but I don't try to take advantage of the situation either or hide it from my wife. It's better to just be upfront and honest.

I do that....every purchase it's hmmm do I really want said things...as I type in the CC number. It also helps that digital things don't sell out unlike physical things and are available for the whole time period so I get to think.

I don't think anyone bought a PS4 recently just for PS2 classics. It's more like having a steak and veggies on the side.
Except I fear here that the chefs are all busy making vegetables when we want more steak, bread, and dessert. Sony only has so many chefs. Let them go make something new and exciting rather than reheating leftovers.

Just an FYI,

I bought 4 of the 3month cards during Walmart's Black Friday sale. When I hit the webstore and redeemed them to my account I never got a warning any of the 4 times concerning auto renewal getting turned back on.
I'm guessing what happened to me both times is that when I stacked memberships (i.e. 12x 1 month or 2x 1 year), the autorenew turned back on when the month/year I did it on expired. Cause that's the only explanation I have.

Is Sony still just ignoring the eject button defect? Or can we send our consoles in to be fixed? There needs to be a class action lawsuit...

Hopefully a flash sale, or something good next week.

I wish I grabbed Xenoverse Season Pass when it was on sale.

I didn't see the post with your circumstances in it... but in January we got a few extra days and like a 10% off coupon or something for the outage during Christmas. So I think that too triggered the auto renew switch since it changed all the expiration dates.

It'll be interesting to see if stacking codes makes a difference, this is the first year I've done that. I usually just get a 1 year card sometime in November since mine runs out mid December. I checked my account after I put all of the cards on it for my year and the dates were all updated to the following year. So I'll be surprised if there are any hiccups caused by that. But I won't be shocked at all if PSN goes down again and we get a few days and that resets it. I'll be more surprised if it doesn't happen.

Don't confuse me joking around for being dishonest with my wife, lol.

Also, in this metaphor, the other steakhouses don't serve vegetables.
Actually, in this metaphor, you could argue that Microsoft's steakhouse is offering fresher, tastier vegetables and also offering them for free while Sony is offering older vegetables and charging for them. But I think most people are tired of this analogy...

Really? For free? I can play Mech Assault on my Xbone, with gamer scores? And I don't even have to pay for it, you say?

I don't think offering yesterday's vegetables reheated today for returning customers with the new improved Plate would be considered fresher. It's still the old unimproved vegetables. IS the selection really that good? I thought it all kind of sucked in general. Especially compared to the PS3 with BC or even the last model PS3.

It's like you are going to the same buffet steak house but the new plates only hold 2 items and are half the size than the old ones yet you want to brag about how much prettier the new plates are.

I'm not really arguing the quality of the offerings. My original comment was really about how I would prefer Sony to focus on new features or games for PS4 rather than working these backward compatible initiatives. I'd prefer Microsoft to do the same, but it's harder to complain about Microsoft when they aren't charging for what they are providing. I realize people that we aren't giving up the next great AAA game because Fantavision comes out next week, but these companies are putting manpower and money into making something happen with these old games that possibly could be put to better use on new features for PSN, new console features, new games, or perhaps just cheaper overall costs for consumers. To each his own, though, since i'm sure there's plenty of stuff I care about that others think is unimportant. That's what makes the world interesting.

It is worth every penny. If it was 10 and Flash Sale intro price was 7.50, I'd get it.
Maybe...the important thing is that I feel like I'm getting a sale.
It isn't that the game itself isn't good. I just remember the days when you could walk into Electronics Boutique and buy a used copy of Fantavision for $2.99. I still have mine as a matter of fact. That's what makes the current repricing of these PS2 to PS4 conversions so hard to swallow. The Star Wars PS2 games that are on sale this week for PS3 are exactly the right price for what a PS2 download should be. When I saw Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore on sale last week, I also jumped at it. But, when I saw the Dark Cloud PS4 port, I said no way.

You should probably realize that the team doing the PS2 games is not the one making the big budget games and that they're somehow diminishing their ability to make those big budget games is a bit laughable. There's no need to get this caught up in the addition of PS2 games to create some sort of hyperbole that they're taking away your games.

The bolded clashes with the entire rest of your post, so you might need to rethink what you're saying since there's one reasonable sentence in this entire paragraph. The rest has a bit too much of a doom sayer vibe to it. These are only adding to the games we're getting, so I don't know why anybody would be concerned about it. It's the same as the people that claim all of the indies are taking away their big budget games instead of adding to the total count.

Sony and their development partners have been offering free BC games since the PS4's launch in the form of Cross Buy games. You bought them on the previous systems and got shiny, brand new versions that sometimes added new features for no extra cost. They were tailor made for the new system without some of the hang ups that the BC stuff on Xbox One can have (cloud save transfer, lag issues). I'd have preferred Microsoft to not block the Cross Buy option and make it so hard for developers to do it because we could've gotten some cool stuff over the past two years instead of just Pinball FX2 DLC and a two week option for Castle Crashers Remastered.

You must have misread my post since I was pretty clear that I don't think that PS2 emulation is shoving aside PS4 big budget games. My point was that it certainly seems possible that PS2 emulation could be taking resources away from other initiatives that I or others might want. Sony only has so many engineers that they're going to employ and the ones devoted to PS2 emulation aren't going to be working on other projects like being able to change PSN names or some other random improvement someone might want. Again, like I said before, i'm sure a lot of people are interested in PS2 emulation and are probably willing to pay for it, so maybe i'm in the minority and maybe it's shrewd of Sony. Just expressing an opinion of preference on where i'd prefer to see Sony focus its development manpower and budget.

Sony is only going to put resources towards thing that will make them money. PS2 emulation will make money, tweaking the godawful parts of the PSN has apparently never been a priority.

If they feel putting manpower is going to be profitable, they'll do it. The return on investment can then be used to further other projects. It's not really like there's ever a decision made between making a 'new AAA' game and pushing forward on PS2 emu.

Ended up getting the Life is Strange platinum today. It was easy, but boring. Still trying to beat Bloodborne and then I can move on to Witcher 3. ( or blood dragon again, or finish Vanquish ). I am on winter break from University so I have a lot of free time now. I better cherish this last one before graduation.

Witcher 3, definitely.

Witcher will take up a lot of your time, I would recommend you finish Vanquish first since you can blow through the story and most of the trophies fairly quickly except for the trials.

So I was trying to download something to my 8GB Vita memory card. Something went wrong, and now it's saying I have to format the card before I can do anything with it.

Keeping in mind that this memory card contains all of my PS Mobile games, which are no longer available to download anywhere. I didn't have any way to back them up, so if not for the fact that I have them on my 64GB card as well, I would be absolutely livid right now.

Im still not happy about this whole PS Mobile situation. I'm gonna hound Sony until they come up with a REAL solution to this corner they've painted themselves (and us by extension) into.

You said it twice in that post:

"I would prefer Sony to focus on new features or games for PS4 rather than working these backward compatible initiatives."

"that possibly could be put to better use on new features for PSN, new console features, new games"

Many people demanded PS1 and PS2 games on PS4 (#8 on PS Blog Share), so they deserve to have it happen if it's feasible for Sony like anybody else. If you want to read about how a big firmware feature like Communities came to be, there's a good Dev Diary blog post about it on the PS Blog.
