Need some help, just got a PS4 and have a 20% coupon. Whats a good PS4 exclusive to get? Already have Killzone, TLOU Remastered, The Order and Godzilla. Mainly looking for action/fps/rpg but not into jrps. Thanks

My personal game of the year is Breath Of Fire 4. Which coincidentally also happens to be the only game I've played to completion in the past 5 years. I've a sickness lads and I need to be stopped.

Thank you for recognizing the greatness of Life is Strange!
Why is this game getting so much acclaim? It's no better or worse than any of Telltale's games. I bought the first episode and liked it well enough and I'm considering buying the rest of the episides since it's on sale on XBL but I haven't even started Game of Thrones or Borderlands and still have to finish Wolf Among Us and Walking Dead S2. Those were all $5 to boot, so I think I might have just convinced myself to pass.

It's because you've only played the first episode, where it seems like a Teen drama series with a little supernatural stuff to it when it goes well beyond that in the episodes that follow. I put it on par with the first season of The Walking Dead in terms of the impact that the characters and moments it offered had on me.

A lot of people that loved the series were skeptical after the first episode and then changed their tune after playing further into it. There's a part later in Episode III, I think, where the conflict for the rest of the series kicks into gear where you're either onboard for the rest of the trip or you should get off if you still haven't been hooked yet.

Probably has my favorite soundtrack in a game ever. Made by the studio behind the underrated gem Remember Me, Dontnod. Frisky said it best. Didn't think it could get better after the first episode, but it does. Hoping they make a season two!

Anyone played Astebreed? It looks kinda interesting. Its an action/shooter game right?

I'm thinking about snagging Astebreed, laserlife or Ziggurat. Wondering if anyones had any experience with either. I would get Adventures of Pip but i think it will drop more

Also what the hell is Yasai Ninja? Looks like a game where your a broccoli ninja o_O

Astebreed is a really good anime themed shmup with some on-rails sections that remind me a little of Panzer Dragoon (one of my all time favorites). I'd recommend it.

Any thoughts on Dark Souls 2? I loved Bloodborne and I know it's a bit different than that, but the $20 sale this week has me tempted.

You're better off playing Dark Souls 1. The problem with DS2 is that it does a terrible job feeling like an open world, you practically choose levels through a menu.

Going from blood borne to DS2 is jarring but it is still a fun game, albeit ugly and not smooth at all

I sold my PS3 a couple years ago so DS2 is the only game available to play. DS3 is coming out in a few months so maybe I'll chill until April to get my ass handed to me over and over.

Ziggurat is a decent roguelike FPS. It gets a bit repetitive and the weapon variety is just OK. Graphics are good but not great (indie), but I had some fun with it and it is worth playing.

All I heard in my head was "Anime themed shmup" and now I'm sold. Thanks!

Remember if you want the winter accessories for Rocket League to get them this weekend before the event ends.
So far in at least a dozen games I've earned zero winter items...unless I severely misinterpret what constitutes winter. Any game type is supposed to work, right? Including split screen local multiplayer?

I think it has to be an online game. I've been getting then every 2-3 games and got one of the Portal items last night.

Works in any mode. If you've barely earned any items, it'll be harder because there's a much bigger pool of available items to be randomly dished out.

They posted the list of Winter Games items:

Astebreed is a good mid level shooter, not to hard, not to easy
The ONLY Complaint I have is there is no english dialogue options, the game has a ton of com chatter dialogue, all in Japanese. So much so that you miss most conversations due to trying to stay alive from the constant onslaught of bullets.

Ended up getting a $60 digital code from Amazon, and bought:

-Bloodborne: The Old Hunters
-The Evil Within Season Pass
-Soma
-Astebreed
-Ziggurat

$58.XX after using the 20% off code from the Star Wars code via gamedealsdaily...not bad, I'd say. 3 games, and two supposedly-great expansions to games I genuinely loved.

Lol. Cap for Comcast is 300GB a month. I used that in one day.
I thought they supposedly suspended that in many areas.

I know they did back in Ann Arbor/Ypsi

But yea, I think caps are archaic and need to be dropped entirely... I mean as pointed out the XB1 downloads up to 50-60GB for every game.

I just wish AT&T GigaPower would show up around here already. They supposedly were going to be available last month, and 4/100 (4/125) is getting a little old hat due to crappy upload speeds.

Has anyone figured out PS4 online storage?

I want to upgrade my drive, but when I go to 'Download to System Storage' a lot of my recent games simply don't show up.   This concerns me, and I'd say the most obvious reason would be that my online storage is out of space, but:

a) I don't get error messages that I'm out of space.  I used to get those before they lifted the limit, so... I'd think I'd see them?

b) If i go to 'Upload to Online Storage' and click into a game, it says on the side:  Free Space after uploading: 10.04 GB/10.73 GB.    That suggests to me that I have plenty of online storage left.

If I go to:

auto-upload, it's definitely checked to be on, all games are checked, and I have ps+.

So why are none of my recent games uploading?  Has anyone resolved this?  I'd like to make sure everything relevant is up there before I switch drives since I don't plan on backing anything up locally.

Any help from someone who has been through this recently would be appreciated; I feel as if I 'understand' what's going on, it just isn't working correctly.    Also... the 'delete saved data' interface stinks since you need to do it game by game.

EDIT --  I just went into notifications, uploads -- the last error message I have is from 4/2/2015, when it said I can't upload Bloodborne save data.  No errors after that.  Is there a way to force uploadS?

I'm just glad Google Fiber got the ball rolling on advancing available internet speeds. They weren't the first to offer gigabit and they aren't necessarily the best company for it(they hired a bunch of really shady contractors to install it in KC proper, used different crews in the burbs for instance, tax agreements, etc) and I don't agree with a lot of what they do but it's pressuring telcoms to make progress which is always a plus.

Plus it's just fun to run a speed test and max it out.

Do you have a ton of error messages under the Uploads section of Notifications? That was a big issues when the cloud save cap was 1 GB.

I noticed the same thing when I was upgrading my hard drive. For whatever reason, many of my games never uploaded to the cloud. I can't even say with any certainty it was an issue of space because all my saved only took up about 1.75 gigs of data when I finally put it all on a flash drive. I did experiment though and noted that if I manually uploaded each save that I wanted then it would show up later. I didn't do it for every game because I had a flash drive on me, but you should still be able to do that.

Did you guys happen to check if those games that didn't upload where actually checked off to be auto uploaded?

They 'suspended the 250GB soft cap, but implemented a 300GB hard cap. $10 for every additional 50GB if you go over. They do give a 3 out of 12 month courtesy, which we blew through with a quickness once the kids discovered Minecraft vids on YouTube.

This month I get the privilege of paying an additional $35 to get back my unlimited internet.

Our provider recently gave us a pretty stellar deal to upgrade to fiber. Almost certainly trying to lock us in before google comes to town.

All of mine are checked.

All 'error' messages are ancient (April 2015).

I forced one thing to upload, then went into rest mode and i think a couple more uploaded... so maybe it just needed a kickstart. There are some definitely missing for reasons I don't understand.

I wouldn't care except the interface is pretty terrible if trying to do them 1 by 1. There is no 'upload all' or sync option, no way to tell what's already there from the upload screen, etc.

I didn't. Are games set by default not to auto upload saves? I haven't messed with individual settings at all.
I always thought there was an option to have it auto upload. But not 100% sure. I do know that you can manually select which games get uploaded. It is in the settings menu for online storage.

It's on by default.

Delete your error messages anyway. They can block uploads if there are a ton of them.
Ok. Will do. Unfortunately, while you can mass delete 'new' notifications, it seems like many things (including invites and those error messages) must be deleted 1 by 1. Argh.

Sort of OT

But has Gravity Rush physical been confirmed for any other retailer besides Amazon?

Hoping for Best Buy release but no listing yet

Thanks for the feedback. Only game no one chimed in on was laserlife. i guess no one really played it/has an opinion on it?

Suikoden 3 and 4 were my least favorite of games I've ever played. Suikoden 1 and 2 are on my top 10 rpgs list.
Hes-right-you-know-meme.png

I can attest to not being ultra impressed with the 3 viewpoints things in Suikoden 3. Seemed like the story was a bit weaker and it kind of got weird seeing the same things over and over. It also ran with a bit of lag and such if I remember correctly. Debating picking it up as I own it on PS2 and can likely make it look/run nicer in emulator.
