I can't stress enough how much I love Tomba. Very, very recommended. If not through this sale then through emulation (could use cheats and make it easier, since it is admittedly kinda hard).

I own well over 1000 games if you count my digital copies, and have played way more than that in my lifetime. Tomba consistently makes my top 5 list:

Grim Fandango, Tomba, TMNT 3: Manhattan Project, Borderlands and Half Life are my top 5 list...sometimes I switch Bioshock 2 in there though.
Tomba and Tomba 2 are easily in my top 5 games. I can't recommend them enough either. Fantastic games.

Anyone who doesn't own Tomba needs to get it.

WOW.

Got Persona 4 Golden for free ... had $9.05 in my wallet that I didn't even know I had.

Also picked up Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire and FF7 for $7.xx.

So ... for $7.xx

- Chrono Trigger

- Persona 4

- FF7

- Breath of Fire

AMAZING
You shouldn't have bought Chrono Trigger.

I should complete my walkthrough for Tomba 2 from almost 16 years ago (horrible need to be revised or better yet deleted)... game still in the backlog from completion lol. I didn't know it was available for download until I seen it mentioned here.

What kind of load times are we talking abut here though?
Not long enough that it's completely unplayable but long enough that you lose your patience for it pretty quickly once you go in a building, leave the building, realize you forgot something in said building and go in again, accidentally immediately leave the building, then have to still go in again. That was about the point an hour or so in that I put it away until I got the DS version.

The Vita can speed it up slightly but it's still there and frequent 3-5+ second black screens and waits gets annoying.

I can only assume whoever is pricing these things is just trying to see if there's even a single person out there dumb enough to buy them.

Look on the bright side: at least when those get the same deep discounts that the regular versions have gotten, you'll be able to get all of that DLC with it, too.

Woah woah woah is PSN like XBL where you can just buy games and then download them later? Probably a dumb question but I don't have a PS4 or PS3 with me at least and probably won't for a while but I want to buy some of these games now.

I thought everyone was saying you couldn't use more than one 20% off code per PSN account? I used one that I got as a bonus from the gamesdealdaily Star Wars deal a few weeks ago that expired on 12/31 but I have one that I got with my Black Ops III PS4 that expires 2/29 and it's giving me the 20% off as well. Looks like it's just one per expiration period. Just an FYI in case anyone else happens to be in the same boat.

So what would you classify as a good SRPG then?
good depends on the person I'd say arc the lad 4, fire emblem awakening, shadow dragon, or radiant dawn were all good. front mission 3 arc the lad 2 and sealed sword were ok titles that I have played but are much weaker than other entries before and after them in their respective series.

Blazing blade is top tier srpg wise and its kinda sad that nothing released since has been remotely close to how good it was. Minus the random number goddess aspect. ugh she hated me so much for blazing blade. knife assassin jaffar took 37 resets to get him to join my party since he would get killed before I could reach him :wall: Loved the hell out of the game since it was so weirdly balanced that it could provide a really good challenge if you wanted it too but was easy enough to beat if you just did story stuff. Killing kishuna was one hell of a time. too bad they don't offer nearly as deserving a reward for doing so just story scenes that you already know about from beating the game the first time...

Only thing I can top Jaffar with rng wise is sealed sword. I had zealot fighting a valkyrie in the arena and she had 14% hit while he had 80 and he missed 18 times in a row. While she rarely missed. Luckily she was only able to deal 1-3 damage per hit so I 2 shotted her eventually but damn if that wasn't ridiculous. I was actually worried she might kill him.

Not a huge fan of FFT either. I understand the story is above average, but TRPGs are usually too long to make story the focus. Five battles and five hours later, I forgot what happened.

The class balance is also piss poor in the PS1 version. Calculator is more broken than Scouts in Valkyria Chronicles.

Well I don't know if you call this sensation Deja-Vu or not.

I picked up Arc the Lad: Twilight of Spirits for the PS4 and now I remember playing it through on the PS2 way back when it we released.

Though, I don't remember anything about it save for some gameplay and characters.

So I got $18.xx

Should I get GTA Trilogy for $17.49

or

Parasite Eve

Suikoden

Xenogears

Child of Light

Castlevania

Final Fantasy Tactics for $18.15?

Edit: I forgot Rayman Origins is less then $10 in gamestop. I still got a $5 pre-owned coupon I need to use.
Is that a rhetorical question? If not, then of course...

Parasite Eve

Suikoden

Xenogears

Child of Light

Castlevania

Final Fantasy Tactics for $18.15

I have a Vita but my PS3 is busted. Will I be able to download PSOne classics like Suikoden 1 and Xenogears directly to my Vita or would I need to download them on a PS3 first?

The description text on the website store pages don't specifically mention the Vita, though they do indicate they can be played on Vita.

If you can find them on the Vita PS store, then you can download them directly.

Any opinions on Tekken Tag Tournament for $6? Never played it and last Tekken game I played was 5 for PS2.
From a competitive standpoint it's extremely technical and you'll get your butt handed to you online if you're not proficient in Tekken/3D fighter fundamentals. Basically take what you know about T5 and add an extra playable character and longer combos. Tekken isn't like Street Fighter where each mainline release is pretty different, instead its subtle changes and improvements.

As for the amount of players online, I don't know because I sold the game and haven't played it in nearly 2 years. The netcode is really good though, so if you're just looking to play casually it will be fun. When you play online, certain stages will remove some things such as background characters to make sure there's as little lag as possible.

On the single player side of things, the story/arcade mode is pretty sparse because the Tag series isn't considered canon. Everyone gets a little cutscene upon beating that, but they're not very important.

The costume customization is decent, and you can actually see other players' custom characters when you play online. There's also a really cool feature called Tekken Tunes or something, where you can customize what music track plays on what stage or menu and even use your own mp3 files on your hard drive.

Overall I only recommend TTT2 if you're a die-hard fan of Tekken, the game is brutal as hell versus people who have any idea of what they're doing. If you have a PS4 or Xbox One, T7 will eventually get a console release and that's the game everyone will flock to once that's out.

I've played well over 1,000 games in my lifetime as well, and I'm positively sure that they are others here who have gotten us beat by miles.

Anyway, my top 5 list is based on games that I keep finding myself playing and replaying them over and over again throughout the years. And they are:

Front Mission 3

Xenogears

Suikoden 2

Battlefield 3

The Mass Effect Trilogy

Notable mentions are:

Ms. Pac-man

Street Fighter series

Double Dragon

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Battlefield 4

Tomba is really that good uh? I owned it back in the day on the PS1, and the few times I ever played it, I found it rather boring, at least early on. I've tried it several times over the years with the same results each time. Maybe I need to devote more time to it, and play it for a longer period of time.

I know some games need time to get going, but sometimes if a game doesn't grab me within the first few minutes, sometimes that's all it takes for me to throw in the towel and never look back.

For those that don't know, Tomba was created by Tokuro Fujiwara, who is the creator of Ghosts 'n Goblins and a producer on Mega Man. The game is less action-oriented than either of those and is more of an adventure platformer where you can pick up a number of quests to complete throughout the game that requires you to explore the levels. Tomba's jump is one of the best jump animations around.

Game Informer did a Replay episode on it, though they had trouble with one of the platforming sequences and didn't get that far:

Is the loading on Chrono Trigger worse than DragonFinSoup?  That's what got me with DFS, the loading was just super annoying and worse so because it was a new release.  I think I'll probably still grab Chrono Trigger despite owning the DS version because it's pretty cheap and there's always a chance it could be updated in the future.  Especially if PS1 digital games come to PS4.

Chrono Trigger is supposed to be the same as the one included in FF Chronicles, and I remember the loading being quite annoying (3-5 seconds before and after every battle). I'd say to just stick with the DS version as that's by far the best way to play it.

As for it being updated, if nothing's been done by now, I doubt anything will be done anytime soon.

Yeah but then you would have to buy it again for PS4.

I haven't played DFS so maybe they're just really bad but if load times easily annoy you I would pass on the PS1 version of Chrono Trigger.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/01/13/lego-marvels-avengers-getting-free-dlc-exclusively-for-ps4-ps3/

LEGO Marvel's Avengers is getting some free exclusive DLC for PS4/PS3. The first is a pack of nine characters ([customspoiler='characters list']Captain America, Iron Man (Mark 46 armor), Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch and my personal favorites, Crossbones and Agent 13[/customspoiler]) from the new Captain America movie that will be out 1/26. The second is a level and character pack from Ant Man that inlcudes a level and 11 characters ([customspoiler='characters list']Ant-Man (Scott Lang), Ant-Man (Hank Pym), Ant-Thony (Flying Ant), Cassie Lang, Darren Cross, Scott Lang, Hank Pym, Hope Van Dyne, Luis, The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne), and Yellowjacket[/customspoiler]) and it'll be out this spring. I'm surprised that last thing will be free, but it most not be that big of a piece of content.

If anyone is looking to get Rayman Origins on vita, I have a new physical copy sitting around I need to still get rid of.

I'm so confused about Driveclub pricing. I have the free ps+ version. The description on the link Frisky posted for the $14.99 one sounds like what I have (limited cars, tracks, etc.). The other link says it isn't available for purchase. So what do I buy if I want a "complete" version? The season pass? I understand the season pass only includes content up to a certain point.
