Chrono Trigger is supposed to be the same as the one included in FF Chronicles, and I remember the loading being quite annoying (3-5 seconds before and after every battle). I'd say to just stick with the DS version as that's by far the best way to play it.

As for it being updated, if nothing's been done by now, I doubt anything will be done anytime soon.
Is there an additional dungeon or something in the DS versino of Chrono Trigger? I thought I read something about adding new content to the DS version.

Any feedback on Infamous Second Son? Worth getting?
I liked it. The story is not as good as the other Infamous games and I didn't care as much about the characters (except for one scene near the end). The ability to use different powers is the biggest difference, I guess.

Edit: Oh, it's 10 bucks. A billion percent worth getting. Also, an insanely easy platinum, if you care about that.

Yes, there is, though I haven't finished it. The new dungeon and ending supposedly tie the plot more with Chrono Cross's.

Yea, I bought Chrono Trigger ... didn't know about the load times. Guess I'll just play this version I have instead... and maybe use the guide this time around =D

(But seriously, these games, guide are both in a plastic box and are seldom played ... They only come out for show every now and then. This was taken maybe 2010. I don't know either)

I'm so confused about Driveclub pricing. I have the free ps+ version. The description on the link Frisky posted for the $14.99 one sounds like what I have (limited cars, tracks, etc.). The other link says it isn't available for purchase. So what do I buy if I want a "complete" version? The season pass? I understand the season pass only includes content up to a certain point.
The full game and season pass bundle. The season pass includes everything but the Bikes expansion.

$14.99 one is the full game but no DLC and there is a lot of DLC that you might as well get it for an extra five bucks(season pass on it's own is $12.99, so save $8 that way).

I'm not sure why the game itself has two listings. The $20 one has always showed up as unavailable for me.

The two versions are just how they handled the exclusive PS+ discount at launch with two identical versions where only one had PS+ pricing. Now it's kind of a mess, but it does neuter their sale price because you can get better deals with the default PS+ offers.

The only hesitation at this point is that you can probably get a physical version for similar pricing. Also, there's always the possibility of it being a PS Plus title (after we get Knack, of course :) ). Aside from those things I'll say what others have already said. The game is great and should be a no brainer at this price.

To be fair most 3D games from that era have not aged particularly well, see Vagrant Story.
Are we just speaking visually? If so, virtually nothing from the original Playstation holds up. The games are hideous. My nostalgia can see through all of that, so I feel blessed. I can't imagine not living through that time and trying to play those games fresh today. I would probably throw down the controller in minutes.

I see your logic, but also see mine: I was ready and willing to spend $9 only to find out that I had exactly $9.05 in my wallet that I had NO idea existed.

To me, that is as good as free. =D

EDIT: And it's not like I could have spent that $9 on anything else but Playstation games lol
Get that government/politician logic out of here. You spent $9. You and your ilk are bankrupting the nation with your 'logic', dammit, and we refuse to listen to such gibberish anymore.

Thanks!! ima bite for the price.

Why? Am I missing something?
There are load times. But if people didn't constantly mention them, you might not even think twice about it. It's playable, but definitely not the definitive version. But it's also worth that amount of money just to have the bubble on your vita, so don't sweat it. Play, enjoy, and every time there is load time sit back and remember the people bitching are probably grinding out some awful trophy or clicking refresh on this thread hoping for a flash sale instead of playing the magnificent Chronotrigger. You'll be fine.

Cosmic Picnic, made of former DICE and Ghost Games (NFS Rivals) people, is releasing Amazing Discoveries in Outer Space (ADIOS) on PS4 on 2/2. It's kind of a mix of space flight and a 2D platformer.

Chrono Trigger on PS1 was my first experience with the game, it didn't ruin it for me. Actually I didn't even think much of the load times until I played it on Wii and DS. After that they are way more noticeable but still not gamebreaking.

Made a quick video of some dungeon stuff in Chrono Trigger to show how the load times are for menus and battles:

Tekken isn't like Street Fighter where each mainline release is pretty different, instead its subtle changes and improvements.

Overall I only recommend TTT2 if you're a die-hard fan of Tekken, the game is brutal as hell versus people who have any idea of what they're doing. If you have a PS4 or Xbox One, T7 will eventually get a console release and that's the game everyone will flock to once that's out.
As a past competitive Tekken player, I have to chime in a bit here.

There's more than subtle changes over the titles. There were huge changes in every iteration except for maybe 6 to TTT2. Six added bound and DOA-style levels. 5 to 5DR and 6 to 6BR were small changes.

As for flocking, it depends. T4 didn't cause people to flock from TTT at all, and T7 -might- not cause people to flock from TTT2.

If you want to play online as a beginner though, goooooooood luck.

Edit: Also, it plays differently than most other fighting games, since it's slower paced, with no chip damage (usually), and more focus on side-stepping (some moves track right, some moves track left, some don't track, etc.)

I haven't played Tekken in a long time. I think the only ones I've played are 3 and 5. Thinking about TTT2 to see if I feel like getting back into the series for only 6 bucks before Tekken 7 comes out.

Oh yeah I just remembered that Idea Factory sale that was supposed to happen last week but didn't because of technical issues or something. I guess they decided to really put it off.

For those that don't know, Tomba was created by Tokuro Fujiwara, who is the creator of Ghosts 'n Goblins and a producer on Mega Man. The game is less action-oriented than either of those and is more of an adventure platformer where you can pick up a number of quests to complete throughout the game that requires you to explore the levels. Tomba's jump is one of the best jump animations around.

Game Informer did a Replay episode on it, though they had trouble with one of the platforming sequences and didn't get that far:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a37kznXdzVo
I was always told Tomba 2 was better.

So um, what's going on with those prices I listed yesterday? They seem outrageous

Anybody know how the 3x point promotion works? I tried following the address on the image, but it didn't lay out the details for taking advantage of the offer.

Both Tomba games are excellent. I actually Fakeybroed Tomba 2 PSN with my extra % off code. Never beat the 2nd and Tomba 1 beat twice. Great platforming games with some slight RPG mechanics. Very fun and I recommend heartily Tomba 1 from this sale.

I've had my accounts linked for a few years, completely forgot about Sony rewards so decided to check my points aaannnnddd.... 0

Disappointed that the Dragon Age: Inquisition sale wasn't for GOTY edition.

I thought about gettin' Parasite Eve, just out of curiosity, though I don't imagine it'll age well.  Not sure whether to buy into FFT or just wait to get it on IOS during a sale.

What's wrong with them? I posted about them being ridiculous, but they're the norm for 2K.
I didn't see you posting or calling them ridiculous, I apologize.

I am debating Rogue Galaxy PS4.
I still have the original PS2 version and save at the final boss. I just never beat it because the final boss splits all your characters up to each take on a boss on their own. I had a couple chars incredibly under leveled and couldn't finish the fight.

I have to say it: Xenogears has not aged well.
meh it wasn't very good at the time of its release anyway. the gameplays super easy, story is full of text errors, bad forced platforming, bad camera, 2nd disc is monologues for like 6 hours with the occasional dungeon. tower of babels one of the worst dungeons to ever exist.

Wait, there are people who disliked Xenogears? Phew, I thought I was the only one.

I loved Xenogears as a teen, I found the deep and philosophical plot very intriguing and engrossing.

The problems I had with the game were minor, but easily summed up.

#1. Combos just became annoying late in the game, not only inputting them but having to watch the animation every time.

#2. The arbitrary rules of the Mechs. I ended up power leveling the pink bunny thing since it doesn't use fuel in mech battles and having her my go to char.

#3. Disc 2.... I've gotten into debates over disc two. There is actually a gaming culture out there who feel the 2nd disc was made like that on purpose because people wouldn't put up with more of the same of disc 1.

For the record, #1 occurred on my play through while in college.

Frisky,

Thanks for the video on Chrono Trigger.  Honestly to me it doesn't seem too bad.  I am a lot more forgiving with older games than I am with new games that are just poorly programmed.

That's a problem exclusive to the PS1 version. It doesn't exist in the SNES or DS versions.

I thought it wouldn't be too bad but it got pretty bad in actual practice.

Harmonix is pretty close to having Rock Band 1 exports ready for RB4, then RB2 and the other exportable games will follow that later this year.

http://forums.harmonixmusic.com/discussion/comment/5241639/#Comment_5241639

Some new Rock Band DLC that is expiring by the end of the month, which includes Chinese Democracy, a Night Ranger pack, one of the Tom Petty & the Heartbreak Live packs, and some singles.

How is Chrono Cross in relation to Chrono Trigger?  I loved Chrono Trigger and played the crap out of it on SNES but i never got around to playing Chrono Cross.  I have read and been told that Chrono Cross is kind of a Love it or hate it type of game/  Is This a correct assumption/statement?

If you think of Chrono Cross as it's own game, not thinking it's part of the Chrono series, it's objectively a quality title with one of the best soundtracks in video game history. Under the mindset of it being connected to Trigger, speaking personally, it's not too hard to find it loathsome at how it approached the original's outcome.

It's an okay game, but the combat is not very good.

Especially the final boss where you have to cast spells in a certain order, including HIS spells to beat him.

It has many different routes and ways to play through it but.. I never went back after my first play through.
