See, now you're being silly. Not knowing what you got for free is a like a prize that keeps on giving.

Oh, IndieGame47 is on sale this week? Well, hey there, I already own it. Cool! Free game!

It's like the guy from Memento finding 5 bucks in his pocket over and over again.

Snow's falling outside, and I'm enjoying Dark Cloud 2. I had forgotten how good it was. I know everybody was saying it was tedious but I don't think it's any more tedious than Ni No Kuni or any of the Persona games with their battles. The invention system with the photography is the biggest draw and the part I most enjoy. Even with the current flash sale, this has been the best purchase I've made on PSN in a while. Hopefully, good sales will lead to Dark Cloud 3 on PS4.

When that happens though I like to know when and how I got it and what the appropriate level of regret should be.

Any detriment to playing Resident Evil 0 on easy?
Got a couple hours in on normal, didn't find it hard but did felt overwhelmed whenever I had to split up (Usually you're supposed to converse ammo, but in many cases it feels you can't just run by Zombies in the more claustrophobic environments) and ended up dying due to being grabbed somehow by 2 zombies. Because I didn't know where I dropped my ink ribbons, the game reloaded back to the beginning of the train.

Debating on the Shadow of Mordor Season Pass. I really only care about the two DLC packs that have trophies tied to them and $5 for each would be my ideal price.

Same I got Shadows of Mordor Vanilla 2 years ago on BF and wonder if it's worthwhile. Supposedly the challenges esp for the 2 big maps are very good. The runes/skins/simple boss fights are OK not great and the other challenges are repetitive but fun and challenging since you need to get so many leaders in a timed way. I'm debating it as well.

Kinda off topic, but how do you guys get the "has been playing" next your member title? I swear I've looked everywhere in the edit profile section, but odds are its staring me right in the face and I'm overlooking it.

It's a part of the collection system. Add a game to your Playing collection.

Anyone know how rare that Might No. 9 Sig Edition is going to be?
Well, there suppose to be individually numbered, and they have stated them to be rare, but who knows what any of that really means? If the game comes out and crashes & burns, a few thousand can be worth less than retail. If it reviews well, and finds an audience, a few thousand can go up rather quickly. I have a few reserved, but I'm not sure if I'll keep them or not.

has anyone else not been able to stay logged in for extended periods ever since the hack?

also -- anyone play cosmophony or hypervoid?  worth it?

Someone mentioned clearing your cookies and then logging back in. That worked for me in mobile.

Oh, sorry. I didn't realize that it wasn't part of this weekly sale since I saw it on the weekly deals page on the Vita.

I was also having problems (in Firefox on PC) and deleting the cooking for cheapassgamer.com took care of it. Now I'm not having to log in every few hours. Really this was kind of a nice thing as I cleaned out a bunch of other cookies at the same time.

Here's The Drop for this week:

New Releases: January 26th, 2016

Gemini: Heroes Reborn - $14.99 (Steam)
PS4 — Digital

Gemini: Heroes Reborn is a first-person adventure that follows Cassandra, age 20. She is a young woman on a journey of discovery in which she will unlock incredible powers — unique in the Heroes Universe — and solve a mystery in her past. She will be reunited with her long missing family, but not in the way she ever expected.

LEGO Marvel’s Avengers - $59.99 PS4, $49.99 PS3, $29.99 Vita
PS4, PS3, PS Vita — Digital, Retail

Join the LEGO Marvel’s Avengers team and experience a game featuring characters and storylines from the critically-acclaimed films. Play as the most powerful superheroes in their quest to save the world.

Saturday Morning RPG - $9.99
PS4, PS Vita — Digital (Cross Buy)

Saturday Morning RPG is an episodic JRPG set in world heavily inspired by 1980’s Saturday morning cartoons and pop culture. Players take the role of Martin “Marty” Michael Hall, an average high-school student who has just been granted an incredible power — a power that ultimately leads him to attract the ire of the world’s most notorious villain, Commander Hood!

This War of Mine: The Little Ones - $29.99
PS4 — Digital (Out 1/29)

This War Of Mine: The Little Ones provides a gritty and thought-provoking experience of war from the perspective of a group of civilians trying to survive the ordeal. Even in war: kids are still kids.

Tom Clancy’s The Division (Open Beta) - Free
PS4 — Digital (Begins 1/29)

Tom Clancy’s The Division Beta is your chance to test and experience a pre-release version of the game. Plus, it serves as an important opportunity for the team to make sure the game is balanced and the servers are tested to pave the way for a smooth launch. The beta will not be a full version of the game, does not represent the final quality of the game, and will only function during specific time frames.

The Witness - $39.99
PS4 — Digital
You wake up, alone, on a strange island full of puzzles that will challenge and surprise you. You don’t remember who you are, and you don’t remember how you got here, but there’s one thing you can do: explore the island in hope of discovering clues, regaining your memory, and somehow finding your way home.
Looking forward to The Witness and Saturday Morning RPG.

A few games to think about but not sure if I'll get any at full price.

No PS2 classic, I hope we aren't already at the point of getting long stretches without any being added.

We just did a podcast interview with Tom Happ (Axiom Verge) where we got to talk a lot about how the Vita version is coming along and other potential ports, the sales policy stuff, and lots of other cool things. I'll post a link to the show when it's up.

Man I love that you have Lunar here too. I still have my Lucia's pendant. As for Suikodens, I am happy I have em all, and buying them on PSN as well as long as they come out. Also I have the Japanese version of 2, which is kinda interesting because it has some sorta extra game mode where you climb a mountain or something.

Did you ask him why his game doesn't go on sale every week because someone asks at least three times a week? I bet he would have loved that.

http://smashpad.com/podcast/day-0-update-58-tom-happ/

The interview with Tom Happ starts about 16 minutes in if you want to skip to that. The only issue we had is that Tom has a five month old son that starts making some noise every once in awhile but mostly towards the end of the interview, but that should be about it.

We talked about working on the game as many other indies started releasing their own Metroid clones, a lot of stuff about the Vita version and all the work going into that, Vita development in general as far as indies are concerned, potentially releasing on other platforms, being a one-man developer, the sales policy they have about not rushing to the bottom like plenty of others, and probably some other things I'm forgetting. It was really cool to hear him talk about why Vita versions of indie games are straggling behind PS4 with the difference in the power and development environment. Definitely give it a listen if you're interested in more technical discussion.

Got my Rocket League platinum, though my last trophy for the 100% is that "Win an Unfair Bot match" trophy from one of the DLC packs that is almost impossible.

The series premiere of DC's Legends of Tomorrow is free on PSN for anyone who wants it. I missed it last week and having to sit through anything on the CW app is a pain since you're forced to sit through ads, so this is a nice treat. :)

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered is coming to PS4 for $29.99:

Valiant citizens of Gallia, to arms! Bid farewell to your loved ones, because it is time to defend our peaceful nation from the Empire. Valkyria Chronicles, the critically acclaimed PlayStation®3 tactical RPG, will be remastered and released in the Americas and Europe on a brand new battlefront: The PlayStation®4! Valkyria Chronicles Remastered brings the World War II-inspired story, the beloved characters, and the mythology of the Valkyrur to life in 1080p/60fps HD. The game will have both a physical and digital version, and will sell for $29.99/CA$44.99. And as a special bonus, pre-orders and a limited number of launch edition retail copies will come in the collectible Squad 7 Armored Case.

In the world of Valkyria Chronicles, the year is 1935 E.C., and the continent of Europa has been plunged into the Second Europan War between the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance -- also known as The Empire -- and the Atlantic Federation over the precious resource Ragnite. The Empire is sweeping through the continent like an unchecked wildfire and has its eyes set on the rich Ragnite deposits of the Principality of Gallia. Although peaceful Gallia remains neutral in the conflict, its citizens will need to defend home and country against the inevitable invasion. Players follow Lieutenant Welkin Gunther and the vaunted Squad 7 of the Gallian Militia as they take on the seemingly insurmountable forces of the Empire.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered features:
HD "CANVAS" Graphics Engine - The stunning, painterly graphics return, but this time in 1080p/60fps high definition quality! Battles and cutscenes are conveyed like a vibrant tapestry in motion.
"BLiTZ" tactical battle system - Part overhead turn-based strategy, part RPG, and part real-time 3rd person shooter, the" BLiTZ" system is an innovative mechanic that makes battles simultaneously strategic and action-packed. Players will command and control their soldiers and tanks as they take on the Empire in 30 different battlefronts.
Memorable storyline - Set against the backdrop of a world war, Gunther, Alicia, Largo and the rest of the fierce members of Squad 7 fight for personal reasons in the name of freedom, and the hope against all odds of liberating Gallia from Empire control, all in the face of the terrible realities of war.
DLC Included - Besides the core game, Valkyria Chronicles Remastered includes all previously released DLC: Hard EX Mode, Edy's Mission, Selvaria's Mission, and Challenge of the Edy Detachment.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered will be released physically and digitally this spring. The collector's Squad 7 Armored Case, featuring Valkyria Chronicles artwork will only be available for pre-orders and a limited launch quantity. The PS4 version of Valkyria Chronicles Remastered will be priced at $29.99/CA$44.99, and is rated T for Teen by the ESRB. For more information, please visit valkyria.sega.com.

Heroes was pretty good. I don't regret following it from the webisode stuff through the mini series. Sure they ended with a sneak peak at what the next story would have been, but at least the core story was pretty much all resolved.

That said, I watched DC's Legends of Tomorrow as well. It's easier to just record everything I'm interested in and watch when I want to rather than be tied to actual air times. It makes me forget there was a time where I'd have to pick and choose what to watch on competing networks.

I think it's possible to download purchased content like this to PS3/PS4/Vita without any issue.

It's also supposed to be free for purchase on itunes, android, and amazon video.

Witcher 3 is hard on death march. I was traveling to right side of the first map and ran into some level 7 bandits and got killed. I need to find more healing items. Deer seem to be plentiful in this one area I visited.

Looking forward to finally trying out The Divison beta this weekend. Is it full online to play with friends and does it require ps plus?

You can save yourself a bit of trouble by setting the match to where one goal wins the game and just do 2 vs 1. Still tough but not impossible by any means. Took me maybe 10 minutes.

I'm so excited for this! Never got around to it last gen. Any idea if the remaster will have trophy support? I know the PS3 version didn't.
