So, how would you all rate the Assassin's Creed series?
I've played up to Game 3... and while I own all the games in the series... I suffer from huge series fatigue.

Where if I play one game then another within 6months of one another, it just feels like I am retreading the same ground.

Though from what I've seen, heard, and experienced, the worst games in the series are 1 and 3, the best are 2, Black Flag, and Syndicate and the rest falling in between.

Black Flag is much better than Unity but isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I really enjoyed, and platted that collectible grindfest. Since you haven't played an AC game in a super long time, I say get BF and play that. Syndicate is really good also, so keep that in mind when it hits a price point you'd like to spend on it. That's up to you, I always save them up to buy PSN cards too, I almost never play for $10 cards anymore because of that no rush credits haha.

Don't forget about Unity though, download all the patches and give it a shot one day.
Cool I think that's how I'll do it then. I bought Unity with the idea that sometime I'd get in the mood for AC and I'd play it, but with BF at this price and Unity's subpar reviews it's making me reconsider. I really want to play Syndicate the most actually because it's time period is one I'm super into but it's still pricey and I've never heard a bad thing about Black Flag. Is it worth buying the Black Flag season pass with it or is that just extra nonsense?

Objectively speaking, Brotherhood is a better game than ACII. It does everything 2 did and added the Clan and Borgia towers. Not to mention, the multiplayer mode was surprisingly fun. AC2 is likely though better received because AC1 had so many shortcomings and it has the better storyline. But it's more fun to play Brotherhood.

I really didn't like Unity, but thought Black Flag was great. Didn't platinum it though because of that damn level 55 online trophy. Got so close to

Quick question about Assassin's Creed Unity DLC

Does the Secrets of the Revolution DLC ( https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/addons/assassin%27s-creed-unity-secrets-of-the-revolution/cid=UP0001-CUSA00663_00-DLCULCPACK000001 )

Come with the Revolutionary Armaments DLC? ( https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/addons/assassin%27s-creed-unity-revolutionary-armaments-pack/cid=UP0001-CUSA00663_00-DLCWEAPONPACK000 )
No, the two packs have different weapons in each.

Series fatigue is an understatement when it comes to AC right now, but hopefully they'll turn it around. For me personally I rank the games I've played out of the series like this:

  1. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
  2. Assassin's Creed II
  3. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
  4. Assassin's Creed: Unity
  5. Assassin's Creed: Revelations
  6. Assassin's Creed
  7. Assassin's Creed III: Liberation
  8. Assassin's Creed III
Can't comment on Rogue, Chronicles or Syndicate since I haven't played them yet.

This. I usually say that ACII has my favorite story, but Brotherhood has my favorite gameplay.

I've platinumed almost all of the AC games (almost done with Brotherhood, and don't have Chronicles yet) and I would say that ACII, Brotherhood, Black Flag, and Syndicate are my favorites in the series. Rogue is very similar to Black Flag. Revelations was ok, wrapping up the Ezio/Altair stories was cool, but I didn't find it nearly as good as Brotherhood. I enjoyed ACIII a lot more than most (loved building the Homestead), but it's a mixed bag. Liberation was meh. Unity is gorgeous and had some gameplay innovations that I really like, but the story was pretty lackluster to me and I didn't care for the combat system. AC1 is the bottom of the heap for me.

Ugh, man I'm trying to have restraint, but if I spend my $15 back on Syndicate, it'd be $21 for it and the season pass...

I'll say I liked AC2 and Rev more than Brotherhood....
HOWEVER there is a weird, but valid reason.

I played AC1 and 2 in succession to prepare for Brotherhood.
When Brotherhood came out, I started playing it and was feeling heavy series fatigue and quickly shelved the game... so I waited a year to play Brotherhood.... then waited till 2013 to play Revelations.

Are either worth it?
In regards to the DLC packs, I didn't get them myself but folks complained that most of the weapons were low level and worthless if you had already made progress in the game. Might be a good boost if you're starting fresh.

Can't speak for the missions in Secrets of the Revolution. From what I understand, they were originally pre-order incentives so that might help your decision.

One benefit AC1 has if you are trophy completionist is that AC 1 didn't ever receive a trophy patch, so you can just play the game to the end of the story and then move on without having to get all the collectibles. The gameplay is a bit rougher, but I liked the storyline in AC1 more than AC2 as the out of animus stuff tied into the story better. I played them in kind of a weird order though, AC2->AC1->AC:R->AC3 and I'm probably going to pick up AC:B during this sale to play at some point. AC2 added more side stuff to do and extra tools, but the core combat system in AC2 of hacking and stabbing was much the same as AC1.

AC3 I think has one of the better in animus stories of the AC's I've played, particularly if an early plot point in the game has not yet been spoiled for you. I don't know why people dislike it so much as I found it enjoyable and a nice change of scenery. Building up the village is similar in idea to what is done in AC2, but it is executed so much better in AC3 as the merchants have personality and their own storylines.

now i want the physical copy of Assassins Creed for PSP ... didn't know one existed.
I guess you could get it if you want to see what an N64 version, comparatively, of Assassin's Creed would be like with the open world being broken up into small areas and features heavy fog to reduce visibility.

I am going to say The Last of Us Remastered will be $25/30 next week and ps3 version will be $15/20. I wish I had got in on those ~$15 ish codes when the ps4 bundles where coming out. I want to finally play the dlc and try the multiplayer again.

The March update for Driveclub should be out now and raises the various level caps quite a bit along with some big tweaks to the drift scoring system:

https://twitter.com/DRIVECLUB/status/707519193462267904

Free bike also on the way on 3/22.

Remember when that was a showcase PS3 title?

I kind of wish I had as well since it's being stubborn as all get out. Even if the standalone DLC was $5 I would be happy.

Ahh, thank you and nevermind!
I own everything else that the game came with.. so thank you so much!

Bear in mind that the standalone DLC is almost completely useless on the PS4 because it's included in the TLOU:R main game.
I've played the game already on PS3 so it's not like I'm likely to go back to it ever again. At the right price I would grab the whole package (around $10) and maybe play the MP again but all I really want is to play the DLC story.

You don't know what a PSP is?

Ooops thought we were talking about the first game. Which was a showcase game and looks pretty terrible compared to games that came later.

Haven't played Revelations or Rogue. Revelations came out a time where I had too much to play and I had chose Unity over Rogue. I do still have both and plan to play them. Rogue soon actually. I also have Liberation on :vita: that I need to play. Not interested in the chronicles games.

Also yea with AC games, I need a break after finishing one. I can't play one, beat it, then jump straight to another, got to take some months off.

So you know how Microsoft bought Minecraft. Is Minecraft on PSN still being supported? I would imagine they are stopping updates and such on it. I want to get it, but it seems like a bad investment now.

Here is the Powers Season 2 trailer for those who did not see it already. I enjoyed this show a lot. One thing I love about it is the bright visuals in the show. There are a lot of bright and colorful shots that you just do not see that much anymore.

I'm not sure where you got that idea. It gets updated along with all of the other versions as well as releasing new DLC. They'd be dumb as rocks to refuse the money people are willing to pay for the game on non-Xbox platforms (PS4, PS3, Vita, Wii U, iOS, Android) for petty exclusivity reasons. They would not have put out the Wii U version a few months ago if they were going to stop supporting the game.

Most recent update:

https://twitter.com/4JStudios/status/702784511487115264

Most recent DLC (same day as the udpate):

https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/addons/minecraft-biome-settlers-skin-pack-1/cid=UP4433-CUSA00744_00-KSP0000000000025

They're in the business to make money, not refuse it. Minecraft is going to be around for a long time. $25 for the PS3, Vita, and PS4 versions together is still a pretty good deal.

For those of us who never owned a PS3 and missed the last of us... What's a reasonable price to get it next week? I really have no clue what this game is but just keep hearing everyone say to get it.

How often does Naughty Dog have sales? Meaning, will the last of us go on sale for deeper discounts often down the road? Im already building up a ps4 backlog.

About sub-$20 maybe? Codes for it used to be bundled with new PS4 systems, so you could try the trading forum or a site like boxeddeal for a lower price. But I doubt it'll be that low on a PSN sale.

Naughty Dog doesn't really have sales since they're owned by Sony. Sony puts their stuff on sale from time to time.

Here's the history of The Last of Us Remastered:

12/15/15 - $39.99 PSN (20% off), $34.99 PS+ (30% off)

9/23/15 - $29.99 PSN (40% off), $27.49 PS+ (45% off)

Not very often, nor for a huge discount.

Got Target to price match Best Buys GCU price for Assassins Creed Chronicles ($15.99). Also had 6 dollars in coupons so it came out to around $11. Not too shabby. Liking it so far...

Thank you again, apparently I had all the missions already due to pre-ordering the game two years ago.

Yet, it feels like Ubisoft is taking a chance at double dipping by offering it again to people.

http://twotribes.com/message/rive-is-our-final-game/

Two Tribes, makers of Toki Tori 2+ and others, has announced that Rive will be their last game when it releases in September. Their main reason is that they feel like dinosaurs in the industry.
That's a shame. I bet Toki Tori 2+ didn't sell very well. I was considering getting it on PS4 with the release discount, but there are just too many other games coming out that I was more interested in.

So what is the cheapest way to buy season passes? The closer to release the more I want the Battlefront DLC and I think the season pass will be the best route to go....but I also have 0 intention of spending $50 on it. I found it for $30 something at cdkeys.com but I'm not positive it's the most legitimate site. Are there any real ways to get discounts on digital season pass contents? I don't think GCU applies to them so just wondering

Wait for sales. EA puts their Battlefield stuff on sale often, so Star Wars Battlefront will go on sale eventually.

Techland and Psyonix have partnered up to put themed stuff from Rocket League into Dying Light: The Following and vice versa. Here's the Dying Light part of the deal:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ylifidtmhtc

https://dockets.dyinglightgame.com/?lang=en_US

Sign-in there and enter the code "lightmyrocket" to unlock the Rocket League skin for the buggy.

As for Rocket League, Dying Light stuff will be coming to Rocket League in the next big update.

Thank you again, apparently I had all the missions already due to pre-ordering the game two years ago.
Yet, it feels like Ubisoft is taking a chance at double dipping by offering it again to people.
Be careful with installing the weapons packs, one of them caused a glitch which would make it difficult to switch weapons, and cause some trophies to not unlock. It may have been patched, but proceed with caution.

Both Trails in the Sky games are on sale through 3/18. FC is $9.99 (50% off) and SC is $20.99 (30% off). I didn't see any other discounts, Cold Steel or otherwise, to indicate a bigger sale than those two games.
