Hey Eldritch, off-topic but what to you think of that Aegis game? See it on your trophy card there.
It's got charm and the core idea is interesting but so far it's been pretty repetitive and bland to actually play so far. I would like to finish it before I have to send it back to Gamefly still but it's the lowest priority of the two games I have out and the Diablo 3 season ending on the same day as my GF trial.

Everyone should buy Ratchet and Clank today (preferably digital). AWESOME GAME. Support devs who stiil make games like this, and price it affordably.

Curiously why is it preferred by you that people purchase digital rather than physical editions? Is there some easily overlooked benefit to user or developer specific to digital?

Only thing I can think is that they theoretically get more money from it but more than likely the publisher just keeps the retailers cut.

You guys can't trick me in to buying a movie tie in game though. ;)

This. If people would just suck it up and go digital, I bet we would see more games priced like this, and alot better sales. I suppose that's just speculation, but it makes sense to me. That being said, I totally get why people like physical, and I'm not trying to bash anyone's personal preferences. But digital IS the future. There's really no getting around it. I say embrace it and help move it forward to something better for all us.

I however DON'T agree with the last part. No ones tricking anyone. This game is nothing but good ol fashion gameplay, through and through. You're missing out dude!! I'm telling you!!!!

PSA for those that have the Black Ops 3 Season Pass you can now pre-order map pack 2, "Eclipse". I really like the fact that now just like pre-order games, they have set up the countdown for dlc's aswell.

There are two new dynamic themes aswell for  season pass holders, one for the Skyjack map and one for the new zombies map (must pre-order the dlc for the theme but it's free for season pass holders).

Seriously, this is more than a tie in game. It has some movie related stuff in it but it's based on the original game. And it's supposed to be fantastic. 9/10 from IGN.

Wasn't that what we were led to believe that digital would rule because they could sell cheaper than retail and it's the future?

Lies! I can see through you two and your viral marketing trickery.

How are the Lego games on Vita compared to the PS3 and PS4 counterparts?
They are all essentially upscaled, cleaned up versions of the 3DS ports. They are pretty short but have tons and tons of unlockables that you get through playing levels over and over with different characters. I've never had the energy to plat them but I hear even with the grind it's pretty easy. I've played the Lego Batman, Jurassic World, and some of the Avengers one and they are all decent enough. The overworld in the Avengers game is overrated imo so while there was some excitement over that I found it's still mostly the same old cookie cutter lego design.

On that note, I'm almost impressed how bad the Lego sale is when everything at some point has been cheaper either digital or at least retail.

Yea. Definitely been a slow burn. But if people would let go of they're hard copy's and embrace digital, it would happen quicker. But people aren't ready to do that. I used to be pro physical and just recently hoped aboard the digital train so I completely understand people's hesitation.

As for the trickery.........you are are getting very ssssssssssleepy....and all you want in the whole world....is Ratchet and Clank on your PSSSSSSSSSSSSSS4...

Only reason I've gone digital is because I have a kid. Not only am I worried he'll destroy all my belongings as he gets older, but this is the first time in my life I've literally been too tired to swap out discs. But I still only buy new games physically. Objectively I see no good reason to go digital on console games as long as physical is an option, since even my reasons for going digital are purely subjective.

lol, I was debating on getting Hobbit if it had been $5, just to finish off the platinum. Not paying $7.99 for what I thought was the worst game Lego game.

On the flip side, you may not have the chance to pass down those games to him when he's a teenager.

Yeah, because digital albums and movies are so much cheaper than their physical counterparts. I'm sure the companies involved are dying to pass the savings on to the consumer.

I was hoping the old star wars, pirates, and indy lego games would be on sale since they weren't in the xbox one

still want Jurassic world but will wait till it's 10 bucks and irrelevant

Like I said, just speculation. Speaking of which, I 'm not as big of a fan of digital when it comes to movies. I like it because its convenient and all, but blurays just sound and look alot better, and that's just a fact. Sorry. Getting off topic. Lets get back to it....

Damn! What a shitty sale this week huh? However I am thinking about either picking up Lego Batman 3, or Marvels Super Heroes for PS4. Never played a Lego game before. Any thoughts?

The problem is that we've all proven to be suckers who will continue to pay the same price because we're lazy so they have zero incentive to make it cheaper and when physical goes away entirely then there's even less incentive.

I agree with you about movies. In fact, high digital prices allows me to get cheap blus during release week because I can just sell off the digital. That, and I love the appearance of a shelf filled with Criterion's.

blah blah shitty sale

Dang, this week's update is pretty slow. The update times each week seem to be scattered. Is this info only pulled from the PSN blog or are there sometimes leaks? Just curious as to how it works.

I'm increasingly becoming more fond of digital (coming from a staunch physical supporter)

but nowadays snagging mountains of games for cheap during good sales (which happen about as often as sasquatch picnicking with chupacabra) is pretty enjoyable for me.

for current gen I like the idea of digital but downloading those massive files is not only a pain in the ass it could prove to be a growing pain in the ass if you have to do it a few times due to hard drive upgrades or whatever and as the collections grow it becomes quite net dependent

I've also grown very fond of digital "complete" additions that playstation offers after the game has been out for a while

The paranoia in me makes me nervous having so much tied up in invisible collections but hopefully nothing happens that makes me regret incorporating more digital into my collections

People won't go digital until Sony starts throwing daily sales like the ones on Steam. Having weekly deal can be a hit or miss due to the fact that not everybody is a fan of the franchises that are discounted during the week. Moreover, even though some other stores sell PS game codes (Amazon, Best Buy), I have yet to see a digital sale on those outlets. PS digital games are currently a Sony monopoly.

If the physical market would cease to exist tomorrow it would be a catastrophe, because it would kill the only competition the PS Store has right now, giving Sony full control over their sale prices. Start opening your platform and let several digital outlets sell your codes (the Humble Store could be a good start) and them we will have a healthy market in which several stores will be pushing good deals in order to stay competitive. Only then you will have and exodus from physical to digital.

How depressing, I preordered ratchet and clank before they had the bouncer bonus (it would have been a $0 sku on my receipt) at Best Buy. Contacted BBY, was told its in the box, exchange, nope not in box. Insomniac confirmed to me no codes come in the box. It's really frustrating to preorder something so early a sku was not an add on in the original purchase. I'm glad to support insomniac though, and life happens, but it's a reminder of why I don't preorder, lmao, cause even when I do I don't get the bonus.

Bollocks.

I do my preorders through Best Buy online and pick up in store. Almost never have an issue with pre-order bonuses. Got an email with the bonus waiting for me when I got back from the store. (This is how quickly MS should have handled the Quantum Break bonuses).

yeah I spent like an hour with multiple tools electric and manual lol

then I looked online and read all the horror stories

but I have 1.5tb in it now so it was all worth it, now I can spend the next 3 weeks redownloading everything
I think it took me longer to open the Seagate drive than the swapping. I also backed everything up in an external so all in all it was like 4 hrs to go from 500GBs to 2TB...no regrets at all

Nice. Now that PS4 can support 4TB. Is there a 2.5" 4TB hard drive out there?
There is: Seagate Expansion 4TB Portable External Hard Drive USB 3.0

I've played a handful of the Lego Vita games and they are mostly ok. I would recommend all of them except Lego movie and Lego Marvel which are frustrating with the implementation of challenges in each short level that you'll have to complete for 100%. This is of course in addition to the usual collectibles in these kinds of games. Some people might like that extra challenge, but it's not what I'm looking for in a Lego game. I'm a fan of pretty much all the console iterations.

Criterions. Hell yea my friend.

I had a full 500gig on the ps3 and for some reason I was a bit worried backing it up to external then putting it back on the new drive

didn't wanna risk overheating something thanks to PTSD I still have from RROD back in the day so I figure just casually redownloading everything made me more comfortable lol

but those screws were so horrible

I did have the right screw driver btw but I guess those screws are known for being crazy tight and strip super easy from what I read

I've never played any Lego games before, but I'm thinking about Harry Potter.

It's also funny that the one time I consider a weekly sale to be half decent, everyone else says it's terrible.

wasn't as good as the xbox one and doesn't have any of the ones xbox left out

made it a no go for me, can't speak for anyone else though

Amazon has had sales on digital content.

Theres nothing wrong with weekly sales. Those are fine and preferred bc more people get to see and take advantage of them. They have frequent flash sales every few weeks which last 3-4 days. Your argument doesnt make sense bc the same thing could be said if they did a daily sale bc not everyone would be a fan of whatever is on sale that day.

I'm increasingly becoming more fond of digital (coming from a staunch physical supporter)
I prefer them as well myself nowadays

No, the update is pretty normal. PSN typically does not update until late afternoon EST. I think people just got spoiled from an early update the last week or 2. If there is nothing by 6pm, then I will say its slow

The PS4 will support a 4TB drive, but this guy actually has 2 2TB hard drives in it. You still need a hard drive with a 9.5mm height to fit physically inside the PS4 drive cage. I couldn't find anywhere that had a drive bigger than 2 TB that would actually fit in the PS4 without buying a third party adapter of some sort. I'm sure there will be some soon, since they've added the support in the update.

So, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes on PS4 - is there any reason I cannot use the Share Play feature to effectively give this game online co-op?

Thank you very much, I shot a word that way and whether is gets fixed or not, I feel better.

Again thank you, Sainrub! I appreciate this community for helping each other out when we can and if not, just listening to me bitch.

Anyone else playing Ratchet today? It's fantastic.

The lego sale this week, I can't tell if there is some good in all the games. I only buy games for PS4 and Vita, as my PS3 backlog glares at me. I guess I'll look up some reviews on the vita ports, but some prices seem very high. I can't say I've kept up with the Lego games, so release date wise may be really good.

Oh and I'll love my Vita forever, so I urge everyone to support Drink Box upcoming Vita exclusive Severed Launching April 26 on PS Vita and Axiom Verge Comes to PS Vita April 19.

I've got a niece and nephew I'm close with, so I wind up watching a lot of Disney channel and Disney XD.

If I'm being kind, I'd say that they've done a tremendous job saturating their target market. Both kids are dying for the movie and the game.

If I'm being honest, I'd say that I would rather get shot out of a cannon than see that trailer again.

According to the Q&A section on Amazon's product page the STEA4000400 only contains 1 x 4 TB 2.5" drive, however, based on some of the reviews some customers are getting drives that have a hard wired USB 3 connector so they don't work with the PS4.
