I didn't finish it...but I played it for a few hours at least and still had more to go. I would grind out a bit for achievements or something....I forget so I didn't get through all the battles.

How is Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed? Asking for myself.

I need some help narrowing my cart down. What do you think could be future plus titles or may drop further in price? Which titles should I avoid? Thanks for the help!

Fallen Legion bundle
Hitman Go
Lara Croft Go
Salt and Sanctuary
Cosmic Star Heroine
Goat Simulator Goaty (for my kid)

All titles that I can play on vita will probably be played on vita if that makes any difference.

Ok, I'm trying my best to be good here and attempting to keep myself at one game.

Persona 5, Tales of Berseria, or Danganronpa 1 + 2 reload?

Truthfully, persona is my strongest suggestion based on merit alone, but Danganronpa is a damn good time for a VN I found. Berseria I never played, but I'll be picking it up myself :)

This is neither here nor there, but the new Avengers movie was fucking amazing. I feel like this whole Infinity Stone saga has been treading water for the past 10 years, but now I can't wait to see what happens next.

Between playing God of War and watching Infinity War in the same week, I can't tell video games and movies apart anymore.

So .Hack//G.U. Last Recode or Persona 5?

Didn't enjoy Persona 4, but both look interesting.
Persona 5 easily, but I also feel Last Recode is a bit dated, though still OK. Persona 5 provides a lot of good thing and looks and sounds amazing. There is no choice there IMHO.

If you really didnt enjoy Persona 4 (shocking), I cant see you liking Persona 5. What about P4 was a turnoff? Story? Pacing? Quality of Life? Other?

Now I feel like I'm dumping on P5, I'm not, it was my personal GoTY last year and I still mess around with it. That being said (true to my avatar), I think the first Danganronpa was a better game. The second was also really good. At that point, it comes down to preference, would you rather play a stylish JRPG or Phoenix Wright in the world of Zero Escape?

I need another game like a hole in my head but these posts are making me want Danganronpa. Any deals on PSN credit at the moment?

Infinity War was EPIC! Finally a really good villain Thanos rocks! I am still trying to process what I saw and a lot of surprises. Saddest thing is when the movie finished the reality I have to wait another year for the resolution.

Let me ask a honest question as someone who liked but did not love the previous God of War games is the new God of War game worth it? Looking at gameplay it seems like the game has totally been overhauled. I love RPG's and I LOVED Horizon Zero Dawn so I wonder how it compares to that?

It feels alot like Horizon in many ways, so if you like that and old God of War games you will like it. The fighting is challenging, especially early on - there are a few places that are tough to get through if you play it like old God of War. Brute force will not work once you start getting non-fodder guys, you have to use parry, dodge, skills and your son's assistance (it feel a bit like Dark Souls at times). They WILL kill you on at least the Normal difficulty setting.

I, too, loved HZD. I never played any previous God of War games. I have loved this God of War. It is great. I am at the final story mission. I highly recommend the game. Is it like HZD? Eh, not really. I don’t know your tastes but if you are like me you’ll like the game.

stubborningly waiting for A Hat in Time to come to Switch. At this point if you make a game like that and don't bring it to the platform, you're pretty dumb making a pretty big mistake.

If you didn't like p4 odds are low you would like 5 considering they are very similar.  It would help to know what you didn't like about p4.

G.u. remaster is decent but you cannot use remote play with it disappointingly.  Why they had to move start to the damn touch pad is beyond me.

From the opposite perspective, as someone who hasn't played a single Demon's/Dark Souls/Bloodborne game (but played all the GoWs), would I like Dark Souls based on the new God of War? Wondering if I should jump on the Dark Souls Remastered train. I should point out that I played on the balanced (normal) difficulty level, but I always got the impression that the Souls games were much harder.

Dark Souls is a 100 times harder than the new God of War, I don't think they are similar at all
I can see people drawing a comparison but only for the fact that Souls is used as an adjective these days. I definitely got some design vibes from it and that style of combat(minus a stamina system) clearly draws a bit from the foundation From has laid out.

With that said, God of War is sooo good and I highly recommend anyone to at least try Dark Souls.

Two different games, yes Dark Souls is harder mainly due to save points, but God of War overall is so much better. I like the Last of Us vibe with father and son, very cool.

The pacing was too slow on P4, played past the introduction and things kept dragging on. Too much to do, so felt overwhelmed.

Agreed. God of War is my game of the year, and think that has a lot to do with The Last of Us being my favorite game ever.

I just got the plat for G of W.

When that Valkyrie Queen went down, I let out a primal, gutteral roar deep from within my soul.

The most tedious trophy by far is the Odin's Ravens one. If you're planning on going for the 100%, keep your ear out for their metallic squalls as you're progressing through the story because backtracking through old sections can be a real pain in the scroat. You quickly realize the limitations of the map and compass system when you're revisiting the same locations over and over.

I'm not sure what's a worthy successor to follow it up with now. I'm thinking I might finally give Hellblade a whirl.

Got my plat a few hours ago and I hear you about the ravens. Even though I was using guides, getting the collectibles I missed during my blind playthrough was not a particularly fun experience mainly due to how fast travel works.

What was the main thing you didn’t like about it? The Combat? The Story?
I didn't particularly like the characters and the gameplay just wasn't very compelling to me. Tried to play through it twice and lost interest well short of the end both times. Now the opening sequence...that was amazing and I wish the game would have just continued from there instead of jumping ahead.

I tried to avoid guides for most of the collectibles (luckily they're isolated by region on the map), but the ravens were annoying because I would always hear them but could never find them since they blend against the bright sky, or else I would spend an hour trying to hit one in the distance while it flew in a circle. It was a cross between that and the Darkness & Fog trophy that leaves a bad taste in the mouth (although after I got the Ivaldi's Deadly Armor set, I was unstoppable). But overall, high marks all around.

I haven't played Last of Us since it came out on PS3, but I remember really loving the story. I've got the remastered sitting on a shelf in shrink wrap, but my backlog overwhelms me...

I said the early part, when you don't have much in the way of abilities - the lock on/strafing, the waiting for your openings, not wanting to get flanked or go after more than one at a time, the not just eating the damage and using brute force. You cannot just plow the bad guys like the original, even on normal difficulty in the beginning. I definitely got the Souls vibe.

And Souls isn't THAT hard, you just have to be patient, deliberate and be willing to work through adversity.

Finally plugged in my PS4 Slim after I smelled the scent of burning plastic the other day, and it seems OK. I decided to place it horizontally flat and not upright in an area where it would be completely ventilated on both sides. It might have just been the smell of dust burning off, but I shut it down as soon as I smelled that odor the other day. I played a game of Spelunky and started a save on Digimon Cybersleuth, and no smell. I might be in the clear although I'm still looking for the receipt since I might still be in the return period. I don't think 30 days have passed.

On a different note, is the PSN store down at the moment for anyone else?

^^^ always put your receipts in the box your console's come in and put away in closet or man cave.
Good idea. I will do that in the future. Since I last posted, I checked my GameStop purchase history and saw that I traded in my 500 gb fat for the 1 TB slim at the end of February and didn't pay for the extra warranty at GameStop, so I might be screwed. I don't play my PS4 as much as my PS3 so it was just sitting upright for a month or so. Had no problems before that time. So it might be OK. I just have to watch it like a hawk to make sure it doesn't burst into flame.

Typing "PS4 burning smell" into Google reveals that this phenomenon has happened to others although I can't find a single post on the Internet where a PS4 caught fire from it. The consensus is that Sony rushed production on the slim systems to keep up with demand which is why they were not designed with the best ventilation.

However, I want to spend the evening enjoying Digimon Cybersleuth and Yakuza Kiwami so I'm gonna take a chance here. Hope they aren't system intensive games.

You might want to avoid GOW then, every time I go into a menu it sounds like my PS4 pro is preparing for take off.

Yeah, I just read a PS4 Reddit post where some guy's Pro began to overheat while playing God of War. That's scary. Luckily, I'm broke after tax time, so that won't be a problem for me. Hahahahahahaha!!!

Being broke has benefitted me in one way - I can finally play down some of my backlog. I'm looking at a stack of physical games right now that also includes J-Stars Victory Vs, Lumo, Ratchet & Clank, and the first Dragon Quest Heroes. I don't think any of those will tax my system...no pun intended. But I won't be falling asleep with it on anytime soon.

Damn please don't tell me that. I cleaned the vents on my PS4 pro last week and it still sounds like a 747 Everytime I play it. Please don't let it blow up.

Gameplay I get. Not everyone liked the combat, but I actually really enjoyed it. Characters on the other hand, you’re alone on that one. It’s the most human game I’ve ever played, with some of the best characters in video game history.

I’m also a huge movie guy, so them being able to combine the two so flawlessly really got me into it. Plus the multiplayer is some the most balanced and most fun I ever had playing a game online.

Glad others are comparing their Pros to the sound of a 747. I mentioned that issue with normal PS4 fatty with some games and Frisky and a few others jumped down my throat. It does get loud with some games.

Love my PS4 for exclusives but my Xbox One X (and the S before it) never get that loud.
