I'm actually not that impressed, but it's probably because I've purchased most of what I want in prior sales with similar pricing. There doesn't seem to be anything spectacular here. Just a lot of good deals.
I agree. If you’re a longtime PS4 owner and regularly browse this forum, you’ve probably already hoarded most of these games. But if you’re a new PS4 owner, this is a wallet destroying sale. I’ve been messaging some friends who are new PS4 owners to pick up certain titles. Trying to get them into dragon’s crown pro and alienation.

Base game is required for both this DLC and the VR DLC coming. The DLC are not tied together.
This isn't true, VR DLC is an upcoming free update to Mooncrash. From Bethesda's site:

Oh what? That's kind of disappointing. Not a problem cause I'll be getting the DLC anyway but I would have hoped for a cheaper entry point for those just looking to play Prey Prop Hunt VR.

Perfect summary. Been noticing more and more that each sale has a whole lot of the word "Purchased" on the lists.

Mid-Year Sale: https://store.playstation.com/en-us/grid/STORE-MSF77008-MIDYEARSALELP/1

I probably won't have a list for you guys today since my schedule and life stuff will be getting in the way today. Maybe tomorrow.
Life stuff...I hate that shit. Anyway, here's the obligatory reddit list in the meantime (PS4 only): https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4Deals/comments/8vt2w8/psn_midyear_sale_ends_717_8am_pdt/

Edit: Oh, and the PlayStation Blog list looks more complete: https://blog.us.playstation.com/2018/07/03/ps-stores-mid-year-sale-750-games-up-to-50-off/

Finally, a not-bad PSN sale--I'm already up to 9 things in my cart, more than half of which are on my wish list.
We've been going back and forth on this for awhile. I've got about 6 or 7 showing up in the "maybe" column, which is pretty good for me.

Broken Sword 5

The Long Reach

N.E.R.O: Nothing Ever Remains Obscure

Siren

Sprint Vector

Wipeout Omega Collection

Where Are My Friends? (not the game...just asking)

Yeah, it's not the greatest (I think that honor goes to the Holiday Sale), but surprisingly decent compared to the last few weeks. I'm actually too afraid to look at the prices for my "Purchased" titles because I know I'm going to get bummed out on how much I could have saved on games I haven't started yet.

For example, Black Mirror and Pillars of the Earth for $11.99. Oof, that hurts. Hidden Agenda, The Invisible Hours, PlayStation VR Worlds and Sparc keeps dropping each time. I paid a mint for all of those.

It's nice when they stick to a theme. Seriously though, is it worth it?

There some newer things in the like Onrush, Trailblazers and The Way of the Passive Fist. But, yeah, 95% are retreads.

I love Fantavision. But it is an acquired taste for a puzzle game. I'm sure one look at a video and you'll know whether or not it would suit your tastes.

I tried watching the video, but ended up getting mesmerized and not really paying attention to gameplay elements. I would say it's probably not for me, but at least I would never have to go out for fireworks again.

For a mostly retread sale, the only thing that I was looking for, BlazBlue: Central Fiction, is not on sale. :(. I’m impressed with the number of items on sale, though.

Sony needs to send out a 20% coupon during this sale...otherwise it's only so so imo
A 20% off coupon would be so great right now lol
Yeah, it might be worth waiting until the end of the two-week period to make purchases, just in case.

Now that I've gone through the entire list, I'm up to 68. Kill me.

Any opinion on Xenon Valkyrie+ for $5.99?
Somewhat not so great pixel graphics, repetitive overall, rouge-like and things unlock too slow. Weapons and sub weapons aren't too exciting and it's similar to Spelunky with the worlds being differently arranged, but similarly themed for the area. I personally am not a huge fan, but i know it's not a terrible game either.

Honestly it feels like a combination of Spelunky and Risk of Rain, and is not as good as either of those. Decent enough, but could be a lot better.

Many of the PS4 classics are the cheapest they've ever been, I believe. Finally! They're getting to digital PS1 sale prices. They were never worth the $8-15 they were listed for.

I didn't hate it, but it didn't have the sort of "one more go" gameplay that a roguelike platformer is supposed to have. The pixelated graphics were great, but as a fan of Spelunky (a game that I play once a day), I found it to be boring, and the hubs between levels kind of threw off everything.

Outlast 2 for 9 bucks, don't think I've seen it that cheap before. I bought the Trinity pack when it was 20, and coincidentally just finished it last night.

Anyone familiar with the Jurassic Park pinball fx3 tables? How are they? Difficult? Fun? Worth buying?

For some reason I want to buy far cry 5, but I bought 4 and never played it.

I think I have a problem.
Don't we all have a problem? Unnecessarily buying games to add to the backlog without playing them is the CAG way of life. Speaking of which got 10 games in my cart and eying at least 1 more. Should I buy 'em all there's no telling when/if I'll actually play them.

Happy bday. What's old? Class of '93 here..also feel your pain in lack of playing time.
Class of '93 as well but no wife and no kids means plenty of playing time. :D

Kind of disappointed that Secret of Mana isn't included in this sale. Figured it would have been on sale by now due to the lukewarm reception.

Yeah, I know I don't need new games right now really. I have a handful of PS+ games I want to play and even a few of them are downloaded, but every single time ESO or Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY go on sale, I'm super tempted.

I've even talked myself out of ESO several times because I'm not really into MMO's, but still forever tempted. Perhaps one of these days I'll say fuck it and just grab the base game to see if I even like it.

I'd also like some input on these ports. I bought them for pc but never got around to fixing the controls.
Played through both online with a friend, no real issues form my playthroughs. Warning though, these games REALLY show their age, the first especially. Honestly, that actually gave playing them a fun, campy charm. I recommend playing them if you have someone else to push through them with.

We must all have the same problem then. I've been trying to make a concerted effort lately to buy fewer games and play more games that I already have. Boxes of physical games and lots of uninstalled digital games. My new rule is to only buy games that I plan to try right away unless they're dirt cheap like Tomb Raider was for PS3 a few weeks back. I bought a few indies a few weeks ago for the PS4 and tried all of them once except for one that I plan to play on the Fourth of July while I have the day off.

That said, while it is monumental that they put that many games on sale at once, the prices aren't mind blowing. Even the PS3 games seem overpriced for this late in the game on a system they don't manufacture anymore. I'm waiting on a $10 code from Sony Rewards that I might use if it shows up during this sale, but I'm not going out to buy PSN cards or anything.

Edit: the game that I was talking about was Vostok. Not on sale during the current sale, but phenomenal and highly addictive. Whomever it was that thought that putting a twin stick shooter together with a simulation style game is a genius.

This PSN sale really tempts you to get the Gold editions.  Been looking at that AC: Origins Gold edition for $50.

The Season Passes for these Ubisoft games are like $30-$40 itself and rarely discounted, making the Gold bundle enticing.  Since it makes it seem like the base game is super cheap, if you subtract the SP price.  That's how they got me last time with South Park: TFBW Gold edition.

I was able to decline it this time.  All you gotta do is think of the backlog of games you have to work through, and the limited time you have.  There's no way I'll be able to get to Origins at all this year, and by then AC: Odyssey is out.  Origins will be dirt cheap and money stays in my pocket (for Odyssey or whatever else).

I’ve been buying a lot more games lately that I haven’t even touched. Just got The Surge and Elex in the mail from GameStop. My NES classic came also. All 3 are just going on the shelf, no idea if I’ll ever get to them. Yet I feel the need to buy something during the sale. If I’m reading correctly, the sale prices last for 2 weeks. Any 20% off coupons around? There’s actually a decent amount of vr games on sale. Can anyone recommend Shooty Fruit and/or Arizona Sunshine? I have the Aim Controller, if either have support.

I purchase most games I’m interested in at launch. Finished Origins, GOW, FarCry, and currently playing Detroit. Not really interested in anything new until September, so I need something to hold me over. I have a few unopened games on the shelf besides what I mention. (Wolf2, Shadow of War, Prey, State of Decay 2). Sorry for rambling.

I really enjoyed Origins, easily my favorite AC game, tied with Black Flag. I got the Platinum and still wanted to play more. And I feel like the dlc in the Season Pass was pretty good.

I call it having lofty ambition. Or noble intentions.

Other people may call it denial.....

Not sure where to put this but you can pre-order the standard version of Fallout 76 from Amazon for $37.99 after tax.

Pre-ordering gets the 20% off price but then Amazon is also running a deal that you get another 20% off if you pay with Amex points (savings can be no more than $100)...and you can pay with any amount of points you want (I chose 1 point and still got the extra 20% off).

Total price was $37.99+ 1 Amex point.

The Amex deal can be found here.

Thank you! Sucks I can’t apply a gift card balance to it because it negates the additional savings but eh it’s okay. This is comparable to the Visa checkout promo back in 2016 through Best Buy!

Are the Escapist games worth getting?  I've had them on my maybe list for awhile and see they are both on sale.  They look fairly interesting from what I can see.

I couldn't get into FC4 (probably played 2 hrs), but I completed 5 and had a great time. Maybe wait for sub $30 if you aren't sure you want it.

I'm a filthy trophy hunter, so does anyone know if there's any easy platinums to be earned from this sale?
To name a handful...

AER-Memories of Old

Albedo: Eyes From Outer Space

Black Mirror

Blackwood Crossing

Day of the Tentacle Remastered

Demetrios

Dying Reborn

Full Throttle Remastered

N.E.R.O.

Planet of the Eyes

Now whether or not some of those are worth the price if you're just looking for trophies is up to you. I normally don't spend more than 5 bucks on something I'm getting mainly for trophies.

I cancelled mine. I had the gold. The yearly fee was no longer worth it as all of the perks they offered are now beat by most other non fee cards.

The fact that they are doing a lot of these deals now shows that they've lost a lot of their card holders.
Dang it I’m not eligible for the Amex offer. Not sure why I’d even sign up for one if it meant mo deals.
