So are the Marvel Ultimate alliance games still as fun as they used to be or have they aged as bad as i envision they have and should just save my 15 bucks?

Also thinking about getting FF7 and 9 to play through again. They have the skippable encounter and fast forward options and the upscaled visuals right?

Did they update the psx copies?
Pretty sure they are the old version, only pc/mobile got the updates, and the ps4 also?

Is Journey Definitive worth $7.50? It comes with Flower and Flow. I’ve never played any of them.

I’m also looking at Final Fantasy. Any recommendations?

how many game of the year awards does a game need to win for you to think it might be worth checking out?

92 on metacritic, that high enough for you to risk $7.50?

Just cause it rates high with many, does not equal rating high with everyone.

So many games people reccomend here, i cant stand to play even though i love the genre.

Are you referring to Ultimate Alliance or the Final Fantasies? If the latter, then yes, PS4 got high-def upscale versions with trophies and time-saver cheats.

There is no room for free will, what's the metacritic on it anyways. If everyone else likes it, shut up and like it, like everyone else.

@donnums, lucky man! Would totally get Vita at that price just to play Muramasa.

@elitewillie, Defiance beta was lackluster. Gets repetitive fast imo. You can tell it's not high-budget, basically looks like the same game from last gen.

Fellas, I just bought a Vita for $50 off Craigslist. I really, really, like it - especially to play my PSX and PSP games, but wtf should I buy FOR the Vita? I went to Gamestop, they had a one page list of games they had and nothing was of much interest. BestBuy doesn't even carry games anymore - I know Sony has stopped physical games for it, but I want to track some down like Muramasa and maybe Earth Defense Force.

Any essential recommendations? Also, Vita cards - impossible to find at reasonable prices?
NOT a fan of the ultra japanese type games like Roko Senpopo Sexy Time Stories EX;Birth. Big fan of older JRPGs and considering Trails in the Sky. Is Ys Origins worthwhile?
P4G, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Adventures of Mana and Secret of mana for jrpg fix. Uncharted golden abyss, ac3 liberation, Killzone Mercenary, Gravity Rush.

Memory cards are still hard to find at a good price, but keep your eyes on eBay, Amazon, etc and sometimes you can find a deal. I'd go with at least a 16 gb, but if you can find a good price, get a bigger one lol.

How are the Whitch and the Hundred Knights games? 1 and 2 are both on sale $12 and $20 and do I need to play the first before playing the 2nd?

Of the three, Flower was definitely my favorite. They're purposefully slow, meditative games, so keep that in mind. Journey was good enough for a single playthrough, but I never went back to clean up the trophies. Flow is just plain weird. If you're a fan of those type of arty, "flowing" games, I also recommend Abzû (not currently on sale) and Bound, which I also enjoyed quite a bit.

Taken from The Unknown City (Horror Begins now.. Episode 1) Page:

The Unknown City is a First Person Shooter game series based on a Horror Theme wrapped inside a gripping story along with amazing effects with a climax that will leave the players wanting to play next episodes of this series. The Story starts with two cops going to their headquarters in rainy night. They lost their way and reach haunted city with so many doubts in their mind.

-Player have to kill various zombies, monsters in the game and save kidnapped cop from monster. (Kidnapped girl cop is wife of other cop)
-Player's interest & Game complexity increases as game move forward.

I hope they didn't google translate the entire game.

Yeah I say go bigger if you can. I've always had a 16 gig card and it's been hassle. RPGs or any game that is a more typical console experience are usually 2-4 gigs, it requires a lot of micro-management if you want more than a handful of games installed.

The options with more reasonable storage space are expensive, but worth it if you plan to play your vita a lot.

Thank you so much. I didn't even know Bound exists and it's also VR compatible. Bought Journey Collector Edition and Bound, based on your recommendation. I love these arty, flowing games

Is Journey Definitive worth $7.50? It comes with Flower and Flow. I’ve never played any of them.

I’m also looking at Final Fantasy. Any recommendations?
Journey is fantastic, but make sure you're into that kind of game or else I'm sure you'll find it boring. Flower is also really good. Flow not so much.

I didn’t even realize you could play without. I remember it as being one of the most disturbing experiences I ever had in VR.

As such, I highly recommend it. ;)
Resident Evil 7 VR was the most disturbing experience I've had in VR. Don't play that game and expect a good night sleep

For memcards I'd start with a 16, or maybe an 8. Get bigger if you fall in love with the Vita. I love my 64 but I didn't start with it.

Game wise there are tons of options. You've also got most PSP and PS1 games at your disposal.

Others have already got you started with jrpgs so instead I'd recommend looking into txk, Binding of Isaac, Rayman Origins, velocity and velocity 2X, severed, Killzone Mercenaries, gravity Rush, Uncharted, Tearaway, guacamelee, pinball arcade, zen pinball, super Stardust, lumines, Wipeout...

I could go on, despite it always being criticized for having a small Library it's got a great depth of games.

^out of all the games you listed, there are better PORTS already.  Is there any good Vita exclusive?

(I was interested in Gravity Rush but just realized that the PS4 version was the same thing, but in HD)

They have better ports yes, but the titles all play very well on the Vita. If you can play your PS4, you should do that, Vita should fill in the gaps when you are on the go very nicely. Just steer clear of the titles that have ports and the Vita version is totally unplayable, like Nights of Azure. And maybe AoT, although I played the import version of AoT on the Vita and I found it to be bearable.

From the list he posted:

Lumines Electronic Symphony

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Killzone Mercenaries

Super Stardust Ultra

TxK

A few others:

LittleBigPlanet

Metrico

Frobisher Says

Looking through my list of Vita games, there aren't a whole lot of exclusives. But honestly, I think there shouldn't be so much focus on exclusives, at least in the Vita's case. It's a handheld with a fantastic library, and also plays PS1 and PSP games.

But a couple of my favorite Vita games are exclusive; Shiren the Wanderer is one of the best roguelikes I've played on any platform.

I don’t have a Vita. I’m sure it’s a nice handheld. It would be nice to have some of the cross buys on the go. Really wish Persona 4 Golden was on PS4, though.

I tried to make u guys list game so that we can build a strong case for Vita but the more we talk, the more I discover... how pathetic Vita support from Sony is.  Maybe it should die and let the superior handheld 3DS/Switch dominate

By the way, below is the ANOTHER Vita exclusive, remastered & ported for the BETTER

I kinda thought Vita already was dead.

There's the problem, really. Players and developers liked the system, but Sony basically set the thing up for failure and abandoned it pretty quickly to boot. It does/did quite well despite the lack of support from the company.

The final fantasy sales are really hard to resist.  I bought collection, 4, and 6 for vita.

also bought chrono trigger, never have played it, it's on sale also fyi

I just noticed something when looking at the product page for ESO's base version. It says "Include The Elder Scrolls Online base game and the Morrowind chapter"

I'm assuming Morrowind is included because of the new expansion that just released? Kinda makes it more tempting.

The bad thing is that you still have to buy the rest of the dlc that's being offered. I know the Gold Edition had the dlc up to before Morrowind though...erm, as a code

How are the Whitch and the Hundred Knights games? 1 and 2 are both on sale $12 and $20 and do I need to play the first before playing the 2nd?
You don't need to (the stories are separate), but you should because the first game is better. Both story and gameplay-wise.

Journey is much cheaper than my prescription sleeping pills and also much more effective. Highly recommended.
Seriously all the three games he listed suck. We are living in the generation where kids would rather watch people play games than play them. Get off my lawn!!

Best Vita exclusives I owned (for my PSTV) were Dragons Crown (no longer exclusive with the PS4 version) and the Trails games.

A lot of the best exclusives did get PS4 ports - Tearaway, Gravity Rush, etc.

I've never played Chrono Trigger either...never owned an SNES until way later on in life when the original cartridges were going for hundreds of dollars.
I had a snes, never heard of it until later.. back in my day you didnt have game magazines or internet to find out about games. There was the nintendo magazine.. but knew of nobody that had it. Finding a new game was going to the small video game section in the stores.. or a movie rental place that also carried games. (Few)
Then blockbuster came...

Chrono trigger i only heard of after i sold my snes, so also didnt play. I do have it now on my vita.. have not fired it up yet, in true cag fashion.

There were quite a few game magazines in the SNES days. Everyone I knew who played video games had at least a Nintendo power subscription.

That wasn't an exclusive to begin with, cause there's a PS3 version with Vita cross play.

Definitely suggest Chrono Trigger as a must-play game, especially if you like RPGs and time-travel.

There were lots of gaming magazines back in the day.  I had a subscription to Nintendo Power, GamePro, Electronic Gaming Monthly, EGM2, Videogames & Computer Entertainment...  Loved getting all these magazines in my mailbox every month, made going to school more bearable when there was a chance I might have a new mag waiting for me when I got home.
