In all honesty I've been achievement farming that game since 2006. 13 is seriously the last one to have any kind of have innovation, the last five have been jokes. Admittedly I'm not playing every game mode for months, but game play wise I've seen NOTHING that made me think I'd ever pay a non Gamefly rental price for it.
It's the minor details that the fans appreciate. As I understand the gameplay/movement of runners is a big change this year to be more realistic. The graphics have pretty much peaked on the game, I don't see how it can really look much better - other than some of the animations not being perfectly smooth it looks pretty much like you see on television now. Sound also peaked, the play by play is pretty natural and accurate. Those are the things gamers see most, but the intricate movements matching the game are what matters to the fans - remember many of them aren't gamers first and foremost, they are diehard football fans (many of them buy a console just for that game). They have a different perspective than we gamers do.

Also, one thing to remember that once a new version comes out, the online community for the previous one gets a lot more scarce. Everyone is playing the new one.

And lastly, the cost of a new Madden is pretty damn low in comparison to a game ticket. Our PSL season pass, upper deck corner 11th row tickets are $85 a seat for a regular season game this season. Football diehards will pay that in a hot second for a three hour game. A new copy of Madden for the year is $25 cheaper than one ticket for one game. If you love NFL, that's a bargain.

Since I got no answers in the Steam thread... has anyone here bought PSN store credit from Direct2Drive? Does anyone know if you can buy multiple $10 codes, or if it only sells a single code to you?

Im pretty sure Direc2Drive was formerly Gamefly’s digital game storefront. Last I knew they were legit

Is anyone else having problems browsing the web browser PSN store this weekend? I keep getting the error message "Unable to Find This Page.  It may be unavailable or the address may be incorrect. Select [Home] to continue browsing the PlayStation™Store."

I've tried it both on Google Chrome and Firefox, cleared cookies/history on both, tried incognito mode, and the Android PlayStation app too, all receive the message at times when loading a game's page or part of the list of weekly deals and flash sales.

Might actually have to use my consoles' storefronts to get a few of these deals

That isn't what I asked. I asked if we can buy multiple $10 codes there.

I have a bunch of discount codes that expire in three weeks and since their PC sales tend to suck, I figure I could get these instead.

I had that problem in the late hours of the night last night. Wasn't working in Firefox on PC or in Chrome on Android. Tried to grab some Rock Band songs from my wish list, and four out of five of them were showing that "Unable to Find Page". Only managed to add them to cart by going to the Rock Band main page, clicking Add-Ons, and using the little "Add to Cart" button without actually going into the song's page. Haven't tried it since then, though.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that was having problems on PSN web browser store last night. It seems to be working a bit better right now (for now).

Any thoughts on DOOM vs Wolfenstein Two-Pack for 14.99?
Wolfenstein 100%. Doom feels too light and like you’re sliding on ice when moving (as intended like previous games I’m sure) and often I find myself having 0 fucking knowledge of where to go next. Wolfenstein is tight, weighty, crazy boss battles, challenging and two Games.

The 500 million PS4 Pro looks absolutely amazing. I miss these translucent consoles. I wish this thing didn't have the camera so it was cheaper or just included the headset instead. I want to get it to finally finish witcher 3 and the upcoming spiderman and rdr2.

anyone know when the 500million ps4 pro special edition will be available for pre-order at retailer. It's suppose to be avail in 2 weeks, yet I can't find any info on pre-orders.

As I understand, pre-orders aren't being taken. You have to buy with everyone else when it releases on 08/24 and there will only be 50K worldwide.

Yeah. I think something's messed up with the search function on the web store. I was looking for Umbrella Corps last night (Yes, I bought Umbrella Corps), and I kept getting that error on the web store when I tried to search for it and other things. The store worked fine on my PS4, though.

I would say that if you like 1 and 2 then watch the anime(s) of 3 (in correct, alternating order) to finish off the story, then get Danganronpa v3. And between 1-2 and 3 just read a brief recap on the events of the other side games.
I'm glad that I didn't buy those then. That sounds like too damn much work.

Any opinions on Umbrella Corps? Heard it's horrible but it looks fun at the same time lol.
I bought it last night, decided to check it out, and ended up playing for over an hour and having fun. I guess I steered clear of it for a long time based on opinions and reviews, but for $5, I thought why not. I mean, I sort of had the same "It looks kind of bad but fun at the same time" thing in my head that you seem to, and I like it for what it is. I did like 10 of the single player missions and even found enough people online last night (just enough) to play a bunch of matches. It's a little bare-bones, and it's not a $30 game by any means, but it's worth the $5. They've also apparently added additional free content since launch if you're looking at old reviews. I think there's a new game mode and two new maps (Spencer Mansion and one based on China from RE6).

It definitely has it's flaws (whether you laugh at them or are annoyed by them depends on what type of person/gamer you are, I guess), and I'm sure online matchmaking is spotty if you're buying it for multiplayer (edit: tried to get into more matches tonight and literally only found one other person online, which wasn't enough for any of the game modes), but I actually did find it to be pretty fun.

Just got an email where you buy 3 months of PS+ and you get 3 months free of Netflix.

Have to buy it through a specific link in the email and the offer is once per person, but seems like a really good deal since 3 months of ps+ is cheaper than 3 months of Netfilx. Comes out to ~57% off full price for the 2 services combined.

Sony Rewards points expiration timeframe has been changed:

We want to let you know we are making a change to our points expiration policy*, which will become effective on August 14, 2018.

Beginning August 14, 2018:

You will now have 5 years from the end of the month in which your Sony Rewards points were earned to redeem them, as long as you remain an active Sony Rewards member within any 18-month period. To be deemed "active" you must earn or redeem points through the Sony Rewards program. If you do not remain active – throughout any 18-month period, all of your Sony Rewards points will expire at the end of that 18-month period.

This new policy is effective August 14, 2018 and applies to all Sony Rewards points earned and currently available in your account as of that date.
The policy before this announcement for comparison:

  • If you don't have a Sony Card / PlayStation®Card: You earn Sony Rewards points on a calendar year basis. You can use your points at any time during the year they were earned and also for an additional three-month period in the following year. This means your points from the previous calendar year expire on March 31. For example, let's say you earn 10,000 Sony Rewards points in 2014. You use 5,000 of your points before the end of December, leaving 5,000 points unused at the start of 2015. You will have until March 31, 2015, to use the remaining 5,000 points that you earned in 2014. And, if you wish, you can combine these points with the points you earn from January to March 2015. At the end of March 2015, your unused Sony Rewards points from 2014 will expire — but any points you have earned in 2015 can still be used throughout the year 2015 and also for an additional three months in 2016.
  • If you have a Sony Card/PlayStation®Card: As a cardmember, your Sony Rewards points will expire 5 years from the end of the month in which they were earned. Points are redeemed on a first in/first out basis, so you have plenty of time to select the Sony Rewards item that interests you most.
Seems like they made the latter rule the norm for everyone, but with the 18 month activity caveat.

Exactly why I really couldn't get into Doom.

Haha that's just my luck. I made what I believed to be a "last minute" decision about buying Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY in the flash sale (even though it goes on sale like every 2 months for the same price) and now if I'd have waited I could have had longer to make up my mind about it for sure. Guess it's no big deal since now I don't have to dig out the disc copy to install the game.

I know, I know...first world problems.  :-({|=

good news is that it’s pretty great and you should play it!

I would be pretty happy if a bunch of Ubisoft season passes went on sale.... been waiting for a decent discount on Far Cry 5's season pass

I dunno if anyone else wants to check, but online on the psn store it shows add far cry 4 to your download queue without buying?
It's always said that for me since the limited time one-hour free trial they did a year or so ago. It shows as free, but if you download the game it doesn't run since my account doesn't have a license to own it.

Wish Sony would fix weird store glitches/inconsistencies like these.

Always a bad sign when I login on a Tuesday afternoon and there are only 12 new posts in my subscribed threads (and half of those are arguing). I'm starting to hate Ubisoft now because of these shitty sales.

At least Alone with You is showing up from my wishlist. And Detective Gallo seems to be in my wheelhouse.

My little Clementine's all grown up.

The Walking Dead: Season 4 is a little different than the last wave of Telltale games. The gameplay feels slightly more sophisticated and sometimes takes a 3rd person perspective/strategic approach to QTEs. There are also collectibles to find and missable trophies, but no chapter select for easy cleanup. I'm not sure if this is an improvement on previous entries; in the past, you could play through a game once and earn your five-act trophies (only three acts per episode this season) towards a platinum, and the story felt unique and tailored to the way you played. Now you're kind of forced into doing certain things, which I guess ups the replay value, but I feel like you're playing it for the wrong reasons. Anyway, trophies aside, it's a really great start (end?) to the series and I'm excited to see where it goes next.

My little Clementine's all grown up.

The Walking Dead: Season 4 is a little different than the last wave of Telltale games. The gameplay feels slightly more sophisticated and sometimes takes a 3rd person perspective/strategic approach to QTEs. Seems kind of stupid to mess with the trophy formula they've had going recently especially without a chapter select. They might lose out on a few sales from trophy hunters as a result.

Yeah, it does mar the pure enjoyment I got out of Telltale games through a single playthrough (as opposed to playing it to death like in Quantic Dream releases), though I guess it is more aligned with their earlier gamer-centric trophy lists. This was more of a PSA to people playing it to be aware beforehand, because I didn't even realize until I was halfway through and hadn't earned a single trophy. I was able to grab everything with another 1.5 playthroughs of the first episode (including a strategic backup save before the fishing/hunting branching portions). I guess they figure people who are this deep into the series probably care more about the storyline than the trophies anyway.

I've also heard tell that they're planning on drastically changing up their development formula/game engine after The Walking Dead, so this seems like the beginning of a new direction for all future titles (The Wolf Among Us Season 2, Game of Thrones Season 2, Stranger Things).

If they don’t build a new engine soon, Telltale might as well dig their own grave. It’s so broken and people keep apologizing for it, which lets them off the hook from ever improving.

I like some of their stories, but I just wish they were accompanied by a working game.
