sorry to hear that, but I've heard the plat is best achieved with 2 playthroughs (1 on the easiest and 1 on the hardest), since the harder difficulties remove the ability to scan the environment for collectibles, etc.

so this glitch is on patch 1.03, and was fixed on 1.04?

I haven't gotten that far yet (still working on Spider-Man) so hopefully it doesn't happen to me
Yeah, I've been playing the game blind so far, but what I can tell is that if you play on hardest difficulty mode with New Game+, it's much easier since you retain all your upgrades and stuff. That's probably the only silver lining, I won't have to bother with a second playthrough now.

1.04 came out as I was playing last night, so I quit out and let it update, then jumped back in. Not sure if it was meant to fix that glitch in particular, but I had already visited The Hidden City and translated the inscription prior to the patch. From what I've read, it doesn't retroactively fix any issues (and it's more than just monoliths, there are also reports of artifacts not showing up, etc). A shit show all around.

That sucks, man. Luckily I heard about the glitch before I got too far into the game. I decided to stop playing and finish Dragon Quest and Spider-Man until it gets (hopefully) gets patched.
It just sucks 'cause I've been excited about this sequel for so long and waiting so patiently for it to arrive (you'd think two weeks out, they would have addressed most of these bugs by now) and now it's really impacted my overall enjoyment since I've been playing so thoroughly thus far. Now I'm just going to finish the story and try to get over it.

There is another glitched trophy in Shadow of Tomb Raider.  Which happened to me.

That's a Knife trophy.  Supposedly though it should unlock if I do a New Game +.  But probably not going to invest the time to find out right now.  Also heard some people have 100% cleared the maps and aren't getting that trophy to unlock either.

I misunderstood what the trophy guide was saying.  I bought several upgrade before rescuing the guy.  Bought the wrong ones.  Stupid on my part but really annoying none the less.

Is MX vs ATV Supercross Encore worth $3? Looks pretty good just want to get some thoughts on it.

Edit: I answered my own question by checking out a video on YT. $3 is a fair price for it indeed. Also edited my post above.

Giving money to telltale right now for any game is crazy- they just fired every employee and the only money they take in will go to paying off their debts

Been playing a lot of Rocket League of late since the Rocket Pass update and made a CAG Club, if people want to join for an easy trophy and maybe play some squad games when I've got some time. It seems like I have to have you in my party first before I can invite people, so if you want to join, you'll have to PM me on PSN and we can work that out when I get the chance.

Edit: If you're not on my friends list, send me a friend request first since I have PMs from non-friends blocked. I'll probably be on for a bit on Monday evening to add some people to the group.

They went out of business. I would think if I worked on that game and consider my work to be seen or enjoyed, I’d rather that happen over some weird gaming consumer behavior where when a studio goes up we act like we give two shits about the people involved in the meantime we spent years abusing pricing glitches, stonewalling for sales over full retail, and expected $60 games that are online (destiny 2) to entertain us for months while we expect story driven games of the same price (Spider-Man) to entertain us for 20 or so hours. I don’t think cag is the place for respecting companies and their bottom lines. Hell people still get hard up when reminiscing about sales and glitches they abused.

I gave up on the collectibles once I saw that the survival cache wouldn’t appear for me from the Monolith in the Peruvian jungle. As far as the knife trophy is concerned you have to do the first upgrade through the merchant who sells it before doing the side mission where you get the additional one and that worked for me.

I misunderstood what I read. Didn't pick up I needed to buy the knife specific upgrade first. Bought others but not that. Doh!

Supposedly would unlock on new game +.

Will have to check out the monolith thing to see if that is glitched for me or not.

I thought up I had mostly giving up on caring about trophies. The goal was to hit 100 and stop... I was at 65 or so. And it sort of worked. For awhile. I'm at 115 now but I skipped some I normally would have grinded for.

My biggest issue is my struggle even Starting Games if I know they have a glitched or impossible trophy. Like, I finally got around to booting up Wolfenstein 2 and discovered that stupid ass trophy requires beating the game without dying on the hardest difficulty which doesn't even unlock until you beat the game on the a very hard difficulty. You can't save the game so you can't even take a break. Impossible with two kids.

I want to play the game, but that takes so much wind out of my sails when I have other games I can play too. In theory, I even like the idea of the trophy since I prefer skill-based trophies over grind trophies

I never even bothered with trophies until this year. Last year, I had like 10 platinums, now I'm in the 70s. The only reason I started caring was for strictly CAG reasons: to get those Sony Rewards points, aka free games. Now I've got a kind of OCD addiction to it, like I want to exploit as much of the game as possible in order to get my money's worth (especially with these $60 launch titles). I never got the plat for any of the previous Tomb Raiders or Uncharted games, so I don't know why this one is getting me down so much. Maybe because I invested in the season pass, which means I'll be playing new challenge tombs up until April 2019 and I don't want to have to see 80-something% staring me in the face every time I revisit it. Just pisses me off because it's a fantastic fucking game that I want to recommend to everyone, yet I can't overlook what a drag it is to not be able to collect all 400 collectibles in one go.

The Wolfenstein II trophy is insane and I don't know what sort of masochist would subject themselves to that. In general, I won't waste my time with trophies if it involves difficulty-based challenges or speedruns, unless it's a really short game or I enjoyed it enough the first time around. I don't really see what's the point of platinums in the big picture, because I'll never be able to catch up to those psychos in the 1000+ range on psnprofiles anyway. Nothing means anything and we're all going to die, so who cares?

General mood right now:

Mein Leben is an awful trophy simply because you have to sit through all the story stuff over and over every time you fail. If they're going to include a trophy like that, at least have the courtesy to add a speedrun mode that eliminates all cutscenes. I knew I wasn't even going to attempt that trophy before I played the game but it didn't bother me because my completion percentage will never be considered good anyway.

You need some trophy rehab. I like trophies and find them sadly missing from all my switch games but I’ve never bought into them enough to get a game just for that. The only platinums I’ve worked for were ones where i got most of the trophies on my first play through and the remaining trophies looked attainable if I tried or I enjoyed the open world enough to play more. I’ve attained level 20 from so many scattered bronze trophies it’s not funny.

I misunderstood what I read. Didn't pick up I needed to buy the knife specific upgrade first. Bought others but not that. Doh!

Supposedly would unlock on new game +.

Yeah, from what I've been reading, you're good on the "That's a Knife" trophy if you attempt it again during your Deadly Obsession playthrough. I just finished the game today, and as suspected, I'm at 99.88% completion because of that stupid monolith (Lone Sentry mocks me). On top of that, I also didn't get the "Dr. Croft" trophy for collecting all artifacts (which I DID), but apparently that's another one that will automatically unlock on a New Game+ playthrough once you complete any artifact set.

As for my thoughts on the game, it's hard to separate my feelings of disappointment from the glitches over my initial excitement. The game is great; kind of a natural evolution of what's come before. It does feel smaller and more intimate than the other two in the reboot series (and also much easier, even on Normal difficulty), but I'm not sure if it rounds out the trilogy as well as I had hoped. I was just reading that an alternate post-credit scene was included in the unpatched disc version by accident, which I thought capped it off better. Speaking of which, I don't think the trophy glitches were present in the disc 1.0 version, so that might be a better alternative than waiting around for them to fix it.

I tried messaging you on PS4, but it gave me the error that your settings won't allow it.

Having some trouble with my cart. Can anyone confirm that Lichtspeer is cross buy?
Also, are the Red Factions worth getting? Figure $3 for two games is pretty decent. Do they hold up?

Just to confirm, I completed by DO run Friday and Dr. Croft unlocked for me after I'd completed my first 3-4 artifact sets (the same number that glitched and didn't complete in my first run).

PS4 Pro just got a price drop in Japan to $350

Man resetera is crazy. I got banned, for simply stating a different opinion than the chorus on the thread.

So has Iconoclasts ever gone on sale?

What thread were you on? I've seen a lot of bans lately especially in the political threads.

This makes a ton of sense timing wise it's just in time for the holiday shopping period, should expect it to follow suite here.

Water is wet. Crazy is crazy. It's a wild real life social experiment. It's like a Forum in Battle Royale mode, where the safe space is constantly shrinking and more and more people get banned if they fall out of line over big nothing's.

Already makes sense since the RDR2 bundle is only $399. I was wondering why the game was basically free.

You know some people just want to beat a game? And a large majority never seem to beat any games? I'm just on the other side, I like to squeeze every ounce of game out of the game. It's not that I want a platinum trophy, is that a spent money on the game, like the game, and getting the Platinum feels like mastering it. I'll do the same thing with stupid flash games and Android games, getting 3 stars on every level even if I don't really like the game.

It's not really an issue until you add in terribly designed trophies that don't respect the player. I have no issue with beating a game on a high difficulty level, I find most games too easy anyway. But in a single playthrough? Silly. Or difficulty levels don't stack so you have to play a game 10 times? Awful. As long as trophies are created in a thoughtful manner I think they're a great idea. Unfortunately once you get in the habit of getting platinum's you'll run into games where all of a sudden you realize there's one grindy trophy between you and the plat.

I think the issue is just avoiding a game all together because of a trophy. Thats holding a bit too much influence over someone.

I enjoy collecting trophies, primarily because it makes me feel like I've accomplished as much as I can in the game.  I feel like some games had trophy-like objectives before trophies were even a thing, like the Ratchet & Clank games on the PS2.  They had these side things on each stage that you could do that really didn't factor into actually beating the game, but they were there to accomplish, and I loved doing them.  With trophies, it feels bigger because all these accomplishments are being added into this huge pool on your profile.

However, I will say that I have stayed away from some games because of how difficult or time-consuming it would be a platinum it.  Oh, Lost Planet 2 has a platinum difficulty of 9 out of 10 and requires over 250 hours, you say?  Yeeeah...  I have 25 other games I can play in that time.  Pass.

However, there are some games I will willingly play knowing I'll never get the platinum simply because I want to play the single-player and have no interest in the multiplayer trophies.  That's a case of weighing the cons.  Do I not play Assassin's Creed: Black Flag because I don't want to play the multiplayer and end up missing out on that game?  Guess I'll have to take the hit there.

Incidentally, I just got my 99th Platinum with Assassin's Creed: Syndicate over the weekend.  This month begins my horror-fest of playing only horror games, so I'm going to make Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice my 100th Platinum.

I have a massive backlog. I know if I end up loving the game that trophy will piss me off. Plenty of other games to play.

Fresh off my depression with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I decided to dive headlong into The Walking Dead's potentially final episode (and last Telltale game I ever play) since I figured it couldn't get any worse. I played in a numb, detached state (choosing the most cynical responses) considering there's a good possibility we might never see how this plays out. I'm sad to say it was a weaker episode with minimal choices and of course ends right in the middle of the story. I wish AMC, Netflix or Skybound would pony up the rest of the cash to finish it because it can't end this way.

Anyway, I changed my avatar for Halloween to try and cheer myself up. Still have no idea how I'm going to get through the stack of games, movies and shows I have planned for this month. Despite this, I hope there is a good horror sale tomorrow (or at the very least, a 20% off code) because I have a couple on my list I haven't bought yet. I just cleared a bunch of space on my hard drive so I can install Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th, so I guess I'll see you all on the other side.
