Once Dreams does finally come out and that unless they have some REALLY conservative sales goals, it’s going to disappoint. With the amount of development time that game has taken it’s unlikely that the time and resource investment will have been worth it. Frankly, all signs are pointing to a MM studio closure.

Hell, they’ve been promising a beta will be out by the end of the year since 2016. It MAYBE out in 2019. We’ll see I guess.
I'm still confused why the developers are quitting soon because there isn't a date for the beta yet. It's a weird angle to take on it.

I don't see the game causing any sort of issues with their standing within Sony since the team has a great track record up to now and Dreams is not being rushed to completion from everything I've seen.

Okay, I'm never gonna finish Grim Fandango and I'm never gonna start Day of the Tentacle....but that's one mighty fine looking price for Full Throttle!

Festival of Blood was a lot of fun. Totally worth 99 cents. A steal for free.

Look! All the games on sale are horror themed! Hmmm....except for Killzone Shadow Fall.

That's because it's the actual game itself that's the horror.
I held out on Full Throttle last time it was on sale... It will go free on PS+ if I buy it this time, right?

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if/when Dreams comes out, that it'll be a free PS+ title at launch. Sony could give MM a good chunk of money and maybe MM can put micro-transactions for certain things that maybe (prolly not) recoup a chunk of the development cost. I haven't followed news on this game in years and could be wildly off-base. Just stating a prediction.

Wow. A sale on top of a sale? It's only 75¢, but I can't help but feel I'm getting reamed here.

I've decided I'm just going to get the Halloween, Leatherface, Nightmare and Saw DLC content from this sale, but I've completely run out of PSN credit. My credit card on file has been expired for the past year, it's been so long since I paid full price on PSN.

don't buy the DLC before you know you like the game, and like i said playing as the killer is definitely hard at first most people prefer playing as survivor

I played for several hours and it's super fun, although I can see how it might get repetitive pretty quickly. I'm such a dummy, I should have started playing since the beginning of the month during my free moments. I didn't think it would be so easy to pick up and play.

Funnily enough, in my first match I got chased down by Freddy, although our entire motley crew managed to escape. It all went downhill from there...I kept getting slaughtered in survivor mode trying to be the hero, and I took a liking to actually being the killer instead. Eventually I ended up in a "final girl" type situation where I cornered everybody at the last generator (although someone was trying to glitch out of reach and I still got 'em) but she ended up climbing down a hatch in the final moments, even though I got one last stab in on her way down. Good times.

glad you liked it, as for getting repetitive yeah you definitely think that when you are new to the game, but each killer is different so it always feels fresh

before you know it you played 100 hours...

Playing as Freddy is tough due to pulling people into the dream world, but I'm getting a hang of it. Michael is easier to handle, but I wish you could hear more than the first few strains of the theme music.

It sucks that the DLC only allows you access to the character skin. I feel like if you paid for it, you should be able to choose the map too.

I’ve seen a bunch of deals on XBL Gold but none for PS+. Anyone know of any?
Fry's electronics has $10 off with promo code in today's ad. I'm actually jumping on that since there hasn't been anything else really and mine is expiring in 2 weeks.

On another note, those who were trying to do Sound Shapes before the servers shut down, they are still up if you want to try and get the 3 platinums.

I completely agree, although your tone originally sounded as though you were rooting for it to fail. I don't want to see any game or studio fail (usually), but that game and studio seems pretty likely to be in trouble given how these things go. Of course, Sony has made some strange decisions both by closing studios early and by pouring money into long term problems well after anyone else would have stopped, so you never know...
It is the cover game for the new issue of Game Informer and has a huge article inside about it.
I'd bet there have been good number of Game Informer cover story games that didn't turn out so well...
Game Informer is still a thing?
RE: Kain ... said the unknowledgeable gamer.

You're probably not aware that "Game Informer" is still the 4TH BIGGEST print magazine in the USA (in terms of circulation), WAYYYY ahead of the other magazines (in the top 10) to reach young adults in the 18-34 age demo (with TONS of expendable/discretionary cash bleeding out of their wallets), and bigger circulation than the top 11 newspapers combined.***

*** Including WSJ, NY Times, and USA Today (of which the latter's 1MM circulation isn't listed).

No, I was not aware. I collected a lot of game magazines growing up; Nintendo Power, GamePro, Electronic Gaming Monthly, EGM2, Videogames & Computer Entertainment, etc. but Game Informer was always crap so I never bothered with it. Makes sense it would be one of the widest circulated game magazines now that all the good ones have shut down.

Crap!!! That PS+ GC sale was through Saturday Oct. 20th, NOT starting (or through) today ... Sunday, Oct. 21st. :bomb:

And double-crap because Steam GC's were also on sale ... which NEVER go on sale @ retail or online, and the only way I've found to get Steam credit on sale is via GameStop GC's going on sale about 3x/year here in Washington state. :hot:

Game informer, the free garbage magazine that recycles old stuff... given out "free" at gamestop. In store and with the rewards program.

Handed out free, and included as a "perk" with the gamestop rewards sub.... vs a magazine someone actually subscribes to *because* they want it.

Whenever I had the gamestop rewards sub, had it 1-2 times when i traded in stuff and the sub actually paid for itself, the magazine just got quickly glanced at before it made it's way to it's permanent resting place (the garbage) Eventually I just toss them without even looking at them.

The makings of a good fight.

Cornelius vs Thebacklash

The man who owns Game Informer via a number of shadow corporations and plans on using it to take over the world

                                                                               vs

The man whose family (and puppy) was killed by Game Informer in a dark alley and who swore to take it down

I was just about to post some of this. I can't imagine Game Informer would be even half its size without Gamestop rewards program being part of the subscription. You might as well say that my Sam's Club ads are a magazine with great circulation. Whenever I renew my subscription, they ask me if I want print or email and I pick print, but then I never know why. It sits in a pile of other magazines until it gets recycled, etc. I'm sure there are some avid readers and i'm sure some articles are good, but that's just not where the industry is anymore.

Wow, great statistics. The way you lumped a free magazine pushed on anyone who visits Gamestop in with magazines and newspapers that people actually buy subscriptions for is truly insightful. Do you also have numbers on how many Game Informers are thrown into the trash where they belong without being looked at?

Masters of anima mini review

Just got the Platinum. This game plays like Overlord or new little King story, where your main character has a team surrounding him and you can place or send them in to attack. Overall, if you like that sort of game I would highly recommend this one. That doesn't mean this one is without faults, but it is solid.

I S ranked all the levels on the hardest difficulty but technically you can get all the trophies on easy. I definitely created headaches for myself but I like hard battles.

The first big plus is that it feels Tactical. While accurately controlling all your units can be a bit hectic, once you get used to the controls it's solid. Honestly, it's so Tactical I wish you could pause and play but if they did that they would need to make the game harder.

Leveling up gives you skill points that you can reset at any time. There are main character skills and unit skills that allow you to feel more powerful is you go along. Unlike new little King story you can't individually upgrade a specific unit, just the squad, but in return you get far more control of your characters in this game. In n l k s you feel like you're just spamming attacks, hear you do feel like you're commanding your battle.

I like the artwork but hated the story. It just felt a bit overwrought and over acted. It doesn't get in the way often though, only the few boss battles have a cutscene after the checkpoint instead of before it.

I found the game relatively difficult to S rank on hard. However, there is a trophy for a speed run under 4 hours. I did that on easy in under 3 hours, it was not hard at all and I steam rolled everything.

I thought the game was Shining Moments wear its puzzle levels. Three or four of the levels are large open areas with lots of environmental puzzles that were actually quite well done. All combat is in arena style areas against large enemies, so you can focus on the puzzles and work through them.

Definitely recommended to fans of the genre. I was starting to have burnout trying to S rank on hard but that was my own doing since it's not required to do this.

One thing we can all agree on, the last of us is probably the greatest game ever on a PlayStation console.
Yeah, but Xbox is, of course, better than Playstation so that's like saying carrots are probably your favorite food when you're only comparing it to other vegetables. Come enjoy a nice juicy Halo steak.

God of War says hi..both old and new...so probably not.

Old God of War games were just that 'games,' as opposed to the heavily prevalent walking simulator-esque sequences of the TLoU.

New God of War outclasses TLoU in pretty much every way, plus still has actual gameplay far more often than TLoU...GOW 2018 does TLoU style arguably better than TLoU

Btw, The Last of Us is a fucking fantastic game, but it's also overrated as fuck.

really enjoyed the last halo, watched the whole thing on you tube.

Game Informer is a hot button issue in these parts.
How dare anyone question Game Informer! :shame: :shame: :shame: It's the #1 Most Published Gaming Magazine Named Game Informer Ever, and more copies have been given away in America in the past five years than the Quran and the Torah combined! :bomb: :twoguns: Sorry not sorry that your lowly print magazines and newspapers are living in Game Informer's shadow!

You would have to be a total dumb-nut not to know the Informer's Prayer! Repeat after me:

"Our Informer who art in Gamestop, hallowed be thy name. Thy issues come. Thy content be fun, in digital as it is in print. Give us this day our daily read; and forgive us our reviews, as we forgive those who review against us; and lead us not into excessive publication, but deliver us from articles that suck."

i think it's the opposite, the Last of Us is one of the best games of all time while God of War is good but overrated

the Last of Us has walking simulator sequences? did we play the same game?

Well, you really took the bait...

yeah, you know the same sequences that appear in all Naughty dog games on PS3 and PS4, where you're walking through areas with no gameplay just talking to another character next to you or on a radio and nothing happens except exposition...they have had a better solution for those parts of a game for a long time, they're called cutscenes, but I guess when your 'game' barely qualifies as such (i.e. heavily scripted for anything from boss fights to the God of War and Uncharted-lite setpieces) more cutscenes probably isn't the answer.

at this point I'd rather watch a 'playthrough' of TLoU than slog through it again; the story is great so it pretty much makes for a better movie than a game anyway

as for God of War being overrated, do you mean the same franchise that was pretty much ready to be abandoned by not only games media and the fanbase but by Sony themselves after the mediocrity that was Ascension? (admittedly still more of an actual game than TLOU the multplayer in the latter notwithstanding)

come back to me when the TLoU lasts long enough as a franchise and reinvents itself to as much critical and commercial acclaim as God of War (judging by how incredibly scripted the E3 demo for Part II was even compared to the original i think it might come sooner than you think)

This is the greatest day of my life.

And as for all of you debating whether TLoU or GoW is the "best" game, you are all clearly deluded.

Best PS4 game is Final Fantasy XV.  Do I even need to explain why?

Not sure why people want to incite arguments or even enjoy watching others argue about dumb stuff.
As long as its not personal, its fun to watch. (Granted ive only skimmed through today, but seems to be civil)

Its the nature of humans to debate and disagree.

**

Carry on to the current argument, astro bot is the best game ever, tlou and god of who? 😉

Not sure why people want to incite arguments or even enjoy watching others argue about dumb stuff.
Don't take this from me Frisky. I don't have time to play games. I have time to watch the world burn though.

And come on, this one is a real barn burner. It's literally started as people arguing about the merits of Game Informer.

What more could you want?
