Exactly what does the Dissidia Season Pass get you?  Every site and description is pretty unclear on it.  Is it all the individual DLC released for the game or just select pieces?

I believe it's the 6 characters (must be purchased) + ingame content unlocks (can be "earned" ingame otherwise).

I'm considering buying the pass as well but half expecting a NT+ version of the game announced as soon as I do.

Any thoughts on Goragoa? I know its a quick puzzle game. Looks really cool, but how irritating/difficult are the puzzles?
It's only a quick puzzle game if you're going to play through it with a walkthrough. Otherwise it gets pretty challenging and can easily take you 10 or so hours to play through and figure stuff out. If you like puzzle games I highly recommend it.

The season pass includes the following:
- Access to six characters not in the base game, along with their default weapons and costumes
- Two color variations of each of those characters' default costumes
- Two additional weapons for the above characters

Bought it, there are only 4 characters released.. and you don't get any of the weapons...

You have to buy the "Weapon Pass" Separately - https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP0082-CUSA09512_00-DISSIDIAWEAPONS1

Okay, I gotta say this - People might disagree but Dissidia NT PS4 was the worst game of the year for me.  Graphics are okay, but that is the only thing I can say about it.  Fights feel rather bland with overly flashy effects and complicated control schemes and odd skill structures, PVP is horrible due to no dedicated server and only P2P connections available, story mode is locked behind multiplayer progress and even when you do unlock all the story it is simply bad writing that does not properly utilize FF characters longtime fans like me love.  Especially if you ever played the OG Dissidia, because that game certainly had its charm.  But you cannot expect the same from PS4 game, that was my mistake.

Maybe I'm being salty because I bought it day one, and I am very sorry to spoil the fun for people who just bought it, and diss a FF game because I am such a fan...  But I wouldn't pay more than $5 for trying this game out.  If you are a fan of FF series but never played the OG Dissidia, then give it a try when the price point is $5~$10.  I'm sure Gamefly Ebay Gamestop will hit that price point very soon.  If you did play the OG Dissidia, don't expect the same game.  It is an entirely different game that focuses on 3v3 multiplayer which uses no dedicated server and lags horribly......

I don't know about "worst game", but I share many of your complaints that it made the game unenjoyable for me. I was surprised then when they fixed everything by turning it into a F2P turn-based RPG with Dissidia gameplay mechanics on mobile devices. The game is great. Seriously, I play it more than most of my console games, and even playing as little as 5 minutes is still fun. A classic-style FF game with Dissidia mechanics - that's what Dissidia should have been all along.

Can you use multiple 20% codes or is it only one per account? I'm speaking of the ones packed in with PS4's. I could have sworn it was one every 30 days but might be mistaken.

So I just renewed my PS+ and for some reason the store will not let me add any of this month’s free games to my cart. Just a gives me an error to try again later. But if it doesn’t resolve today, that means I’m out a month’s worth of free games since my new sub will end a day before a 12th month of games. Anyone ever have this issue before?

Probably should have just waited another day to redeem it. :(

Can you use the site version? Not sure if that will help.

The ps+ games don't update until next Tuesday (every first Tue around 8am Pac/11am E) so you still have time to get Oct's games. It's Xbox GwG that update 1st-15th, 16th-eom.

Can you use multiple 20% codes or is it only one per account? I'm speaking of the ones packed in with PS4's. I could have sworn it was one every 30 days but might be mistaken.
So you can use multiple 20% codes but only one per account from any given batch or source. Meaning, you can use a 20% from Spiderman Pro LE bundle, a 20% from the RDR2 Pro bundle, and (as a fictional example) if one gets sent out by the weekly email you can use that one too - all on the same account.

However if you try to use a second code from the same source (a second code from the Spiderman LE bundle, for example) it will say invalid code, even though the code will still work on a different account.

Okay, thanks. I have one from the Spider-Man bundle and one from the RDR2 bundle. I do have an extra one from another RDR2 bundle, if anyone can make good use of it during the BF sales next month.

I'm sure I or someone else could make good use of a 20% off code if you don't need the extra :)

I absolutely hate the fact that Sony has the nerve to put expiration dates on their the codes they give out with their systems. I bought a brand new PS4 Pro at Target a few months back and it must have been a launch system that had been sitting in the back of the cabinet because it came with a 20% off code that had expired the previous year. I tried using it regardless and nope, "expired." I mean, seriously, what's the point of including an expiration date on a code that comes with a new system?

Any thoughts on Goragoa? I know its a quick puzzle game. Looks really cool, but how irritating/difficult are the puzzles?
It's great and the puzzles are wonderful. I didn't use any guide or anything and finished it in a few hours. It's not really difficult at all as it felt like you can easily "brute force" most of the puzzles (ie just keep clicking stuff till you progress)

Sony's chat support is usually pretty good for that kind of stuff. Have you tried contacting them and explaining the situation? I had that issue last year and they gave me a new code right on the spot.

I'll have to try that when I get a chance; thanks.

Last I knew you could only use one type of coupon per account per quarter (or approximately). It's really bizarre.

Count yourself lucky, my new Pro didn't even come with a coupon.

Nice sale, thanks to that free $10 credit a couple weeks back I picked up Rayman Legends and Burnout Paradise. Hopefully Burnout lives up to its decade's worth of hype.

Well, Halloween and October are over, and with it's ending, so ends my Horror Marathon.  Only made it through six games this year, primarily due to being sick for a good chunk of time near the center of the month.  Didn't play through as many, or even ones that I thought I would get to this year (like Oxenfree or Lone Survivor) but it still worked out pretty well.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Don't Knock Twice (PSVR)

Paranormal Activity: Lost Soul (PSVR)

The Long Reach

Claire

The Coma: Recut

Hellblade was a decent game with beautiful graphics and easy (if a tad redundant) battles.  I played it wearing earphones and happy I did, as it gave the schizo vibe a lot better than my 5.1 surround system seemed to.  Although, I did expect the game to be a little more...I don't know, crazy? It felt to me like they had the voices in her head down well, but that was about it.

For Don't Knock Twice and Paranormal Activity, I played both games in VR mode with a Dualshock controller and Full Locomotion.  They were both decent for what they were, though I felt like Paranormal Activity had the sharper graphics and more going on.  In Don't Knock Twice, I felt very much alone in the house, whereas with Paranormal Activity having a couple other people in the house doing things, it seemed to give it more life.  Neither of them had enough jump scares for my liking but both games got me at least once.  The controls were excruciatingly annoying in Don't Knock Twice, however.  I don't think I've ever had motion sickness (I never got dizzy from movement or anything), but both games did make me feel very hot while playing it to the point I had to take the headsets off periodically and take a break.  Perhaps it was because I was attempting to play them while sick at the time.

The Long Reach, Claire and The Coma were all similar play styles.  They're each played from a 2D side-view perspective and your character ends up in a strange location with strange things happening.  None of your characters can fight, you pretty much have to run away from anything that might hurt you as you go from location to location, finding items, reading different clues, until you find yourself where you need to be.  I enjoyed all three of these, though if I had to pick a favorite among them, I'd have to go with The Long Reach.  I felt like, story-wise, it had a lot more mind-blowing moments than the rest of them.  However, The Coma definitely takes the cake when it comes to being panicked, since the moment you realize the killer is in the area, it's flee and hide to survive, because the killer will rip you to shreds.

All in all, it was a good mix of games and I will likely play other Horror games before my next marathon 11 months from now, but now it's time to get back to more light-hearted games in my backlog.

And just for completionist sake, the movies from my Blu-Ray collection that I saw for the first time as part of my horror marathon. No reviews here, just a list:

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
Deathgasm
The Shallows
Goosebumps (3D)
Splinter
Cooties
Stoker
The Forest
Wolfcop
Another Wolfcop
The Voices

Well, Halloween and October are over, and with it's ending, so ends my Horror Marathon. *snip*
As always, I list all my completed games in my sig, but I had a pretty good haul this month. I've played all the ones you listed (throughout the year) and saw all the movies you mentioned previously. The Long Reach was also part of my marathon (though it's technically a Christmas horror game) and I really enjoyed it. It reminded me a lot of Home. I played another 8-bit survival horror afterwards, Uncanny Valley (a PS+ title at some point), but it was terrible. If you liked Claire and The Coma, I recommend Detention (currently on sale for much less than I paid) which has a similar playstyle and theme.

As I recall, both Don't Knock Twice and Paranormal Activity have Move support, with the latter having the worse control scheme in VR. Still admittedly not as bad as The Exorcist game, which has some of the most confusing Move controls ever.

I didn't get to watch as many movies as I would have liked since I've been spending every free moment on games. I did see Halloween (2018) and Night of the Living Dead 50th Anniversary in theaters, but wasn't able to catch Hell Fest or Suspiria due to MoviePass being a piece of shit. At least I'm caught up on American Horror Story, The Walking Dead and finally finished Castle Rock, but didn't get to start the new Haunting of Hill House or Chilling Adventures of Sabrina that were just released. Not enough fuckin' time in the world, man.

Guess I can change my avatar back now. :whistle2:|

Yeah, I played Home a few years back and both The Long Reach and Claire reminded me of it, though Home was much, much shorter than those two. I took a look at Detention a while back when I was trying to decide whether I wanted to buy either it or The Coma (since they both seem to be very similar) and I think I wasn't very impressed with the art style in Detention, so I went with just The Coma.

Yeah, I knew Don't Knock Twice and Paranormal Activity had Move support, but I wanted to be able to use full locomotion and felt movement would be easier with the Dualshock. From what I've heard, Paper Dolls has the worst control scheme for movement ever in a VR game. Don't know how it is with the Dualshock since nobody seems to go into that, but with the Moves, you can only walk forward and you do so by taking individual steps with the two trigger buttons.

Well, my girlfriend calls me after work and we end up talking for a while, so once I hang up, I take a look at the time. If I'm tired or plan to go to bed within two hours or so, I figured it was best not to start a new game and to just watch a movie instead. So that's how I managed so many movies this time when I should have been playing games. I'm all caught up on Walking Dead and haven't even started American Horror Story, Castle Rock, Hill House or Sabrina yet. I did consider starting up American Horror Story since the discs have been sitting here forever, but at seven seasons, I didn't think I'd be able to do anything else this month.

I saw Hellfest with a free ticket Regal gave me. I was very disappointed. I canceled my MoviePass once they switched to the blackout dates. I could have handled three movies a month since I rarely went out more than that anyway, but dictating what movies I get to see on what days was where they crossed the line.

Some neat info about the Tetris Effect demo and a mini-documentary:

Also, a special “Weekend Ritual” event will run for 24 hours over the demo weekend (starting 12pm UTC on Saturday, November 3), during which all players of the Weekend Trial Demo can play a specified mode to earn points towards a Community Goal. If 100% of that Community Goal is reached in the 24-hour period, a special in-game avatar will unlock for all players who participated in the event, which is usable in the demo only. A Weekend Ritual event like this will run every weekend once the full Tetris Effect game launches on November 9, spotlighting different Effect Modes each week.

I just got an email that explains that the servers for a group of PS3 games won't be shut down until January 2019 now which is good for anyone who enjoys playing PS3 games online since it's still free to do so.

Dear valued PlayStation customer,

“We wanted to update you on a planned service shut down, which impacts online access for Warhawk, Twisted Metal, PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale, and Sound Shapes. This has now been extended to January 31, 2019 at 12:00 AM PT.

Following this shutdown, Warhawk will no longer be playable unless the PS3 system is set to LAN mode for local network play https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connectwireless.html. For Twisted Metal and PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale, users can play the campaign offline as well as local (couch) multiplayer in split screen mode. For Sound Shapes, users will be able to play the campaign and all DLC purchases as well as create their own levels, however, users won’t be able to share their levels with the community or download community created levels.”

Sincerely,
The PlayStation® Team

Ditch the girlfriend and you'll have more time for games. :D That's actually what I might be doing here soon as when I'm with her I usually end up wishing I would have spent that time playing video games.

So they are finally charging tax for PSN purchases and subscriptions in NYC. Kinda bummed that they did this right before Black Friday sales because no tax usually makes the prices closer to what physical sales are after taxes.

Yep, looks like all of NY. I'm just outside Albany and getting tax added too. :(

It's all a delicate balance. Fun with games/Fun with girlfriend. Give up one and overload on the other and you miss the fun you gave up. :)

Isn't this why there is porn?
I find that gets boring after a while. It's the difference between watching a commercial for filet mignon and actually eating filet mignon. :) No amount of watching it on television is going to satify the craving like actually eating it.

It was only a matter of time. Microsoft and Nintendo already charge tax. I'm actually surprised Sony took this long. Just wish they would have waited until January

Change your location to a state that doesn’t have sales tax. It works for states like Alaska or Oregon. Google the whole list. Just choose a public address to a public park or fast food spot. Continue enjoying paying less on psn.
