I'm definitely in for Hitman 2 Gold for $80. Don't see it dropping that much more any time soon.

EDIT: On second thought, would it just be cheaper to get the base game for $30 and Expansion Pass for $40? Is there anything else I'm missing from Gold outside of the 4-day Early Access that is no longer valid at this point?

It's at times like these where Sony's truly evil/dumb decision to limit carts to 10 items at a time hurts the most.

So many games!!! Anyone want to point out hidden gems under $10?
I only had $4 and some change left in my PSN wallet. With my PS Plus discount, I bought Punch Club for 99 cents, Mr. Shifty for $1.49, and Dog Gone Golfing for 49 cents. I've played Punch Club before on mobile. It's a boxing/fighting training simulation, but I always figured it would be better with a controller. Mr. Shifty looked like it had a decent top down play mechanic in the video, and Dog Gone Golfing is a golf game from the developer of Always Sometimes Monsters, so I thought it was worth a look. And I still have $1 left!

Do the individual game pages say Jan 15th?
The banner at the top on the ps app says week 1 ends 12-18...

Edit: it does.. banner says 12-18 and thief (first game on list since i have gta 5) says 1-15. If these games are on sale for a month.. at least we may get some physical prices lowered.
I didn't come across any that say the 18th but did come across some (Monster Hunter and Mega Man) that end on the 25th

The entire sale ends on 1/15/19 and many of the games are going to end then. The 12/18 on the banner just means that more will be added next week and every week after that, so this isn't the entire sale.

Looking through all these pages is a painful reminder of how many games I've bought and not played (as I continue to click and add items to my cart). :whistle2:

This is my first PS winter sale, problem is, as I was (am?) a PC gamer, a lot of these prices seem... well, pricey. 50% off? pfffffft.

I'll just stick to PlayStation exclusives. (which are 70%+ off)

Interesting. I remember the days when Steam sales used to be something like 75% to 80% off on most games but now it seems to be 50% to 66% at most. For the most part, Playstation Store prices seem to be the same range; they just seem higher to me since I'm so used to the Steam prices from six years ago.

Sony's done a lousy job of listing these games. I wanna arrange them by format, but no dice. Why is that asking so much? Nor do I want to look at a dozen of them per page.

What's the consensus on the suikoden games? Never played them, but always heard good things. Which ones are worth it to you all?
Ranking off the top of my head for the mainline games: 2 > 5 (not on PSN) > 3 > 1 > 4

1 and 2 have the advantage of being able to play on the Vita or PSP. 1 might be a bit too old school (clunky at times, individual character inventories to manage, characters not very customizable) but it's relatively short at around 20 hours. Story is still strong. 3 has some fun variety with the way they changed character customization and the battle system, but it can be slow to get going storywise because the game has four protagonists to switch between until the last few chapters. 4 I would skip.

Bringing a save game over from the end of 1 lets you carry over some things but nothing too major (names you input carry over, can use the first game's protagonist on your team, equipment from 2 characters carry over) and you can then carry over a save file from 2 into the third game (even less is brought over, but at least it seemed neat at the time).

They all go on sale often enough that I would just jump straight to 2 and try it out before playing the others. It's the most well regarded for a reason.

I and II are fantastic. Not sure how they hold up if you're coming to them for the first time now, but if you like 16/32-bit JRPG's, these are some of the greatest. I'd put II up there with Chrono Trigger and FFVI as the pinnacles of the genre. V is also fantastic. III is ok, and IV should be avoided at all costs.

Honestly, I want to just tell you to buy them all, in the (misguided) hope that Konami will see that there's an interest in the franchise and do something with it.

Did somebody say it's time for more Suikoden slot machines?

I don't know if Chasm's worth $15 if I'm not gonna play it anytime soon, any chance it drops to $10 or less or is this as low as it's gonna get? I'd hate to have to pay the full $20 if they never drop it again.

During this sale? That's it. It seems like it's dropping slowly, so 50% off will take a while.

I liked the game, but it takes a bit too long to get the upgrades and weapons that helped the game get better for me because the early weapons are not good and the platforming stinks until you get the double jump.

I'm not impressed with this sale in the slightest, probably get Wipeout Omega but that honestly might be it. Crazy to see GTA 5 at a 14.99 which is absoulutely funny to me.

So how is Owlboy? I guess this is the cheapest it has been. Just not sure if I should make the purchase or not. I know it got good reviews. $24.99 as a base price, seems kinda high for that type of game.

Was playing the PC version an hour ago. Looks nice! Play mechanics are interesting (you can fly but can't attack distant targets without your friend, who you hold with your talons) but control is a bit awkward and requires a little practice. Frequent puzzles in the terrain. Townspeople are needlessly cruel to the lead character.

Based on your experience with this game. Do you feel it is worth the $12.49 asking price?

I am gonna wait and see if Sony mails out a 20% off coupon like last year during their 5 week Holiday/winter sale, before making any purchases.

I got WipeOut Omega, Owlboy, and Ruiner in my cart so far.

I bought mine for four, so...
I dunno. If you like flying in a platformer and you really would rather play it on a game console, it might be worth the extra eight dollars to you. I think it's okay, but like most Metroidvanias, it's bound to get more complex and nuanced as I progress.

It's too bad that the God Wars expansion isn't on sale. Not sure if I should pick the game up for PS4 or Switch.

I'm thinking Absolute Drift would be a good, chill game.
I thought that too, until I watched a YT video. What I gathered from the video is that it's actually quite challenging and somewhat frustrating at times.

Well at least you can sort the games on sale now, somewhat ...
Uhh... yeah... not really useful with that sorting now is it? Thankfully I already know which games I want.

Darknet is a really cool little game, I played it without vr and it's gfine on tv. It's like a super awesome hacker version of minesweeper. You take on jobs to hack servers, and each server is a bunch of protected nodes of varying difficulty. You enter each node, solve a sort of modernized version of minesweeper [It's cool, and very different than minesweeper, although it's the easiest way to explain it], and once you breach a node it makes connected nodes slightly easier. In this way, you eventually expose and conquer the core nodes, and then pick another mission.

You upgrade your abilities and skills, and it's a nice little mind cruncher as you balance speed, difficulty, etc.

The game ramps up well , and there is even eventually a meta hacking game you need to figure out to make headway on the super hard missions.

Highly recommended.

Darkest Dungeon has shared trophies with PS4/Vita?

Really tempted to grab everything for $16.87. Kinda would rather have on Switch.. but $40 vs $16.87....

PSVR Prey: Typhon Hunter - Free for Prey Mooncrash owners
Oh, wow. I hadn't been following any updates for the game. Typhon Hunter coming out today caught me by surprise. I'll check it out tomorrow. I bought Mooncrash during the Black Friday sale. The Mooncrash dlc has one more update coming later, and it will also have VR.

Correction. I played a bit of Prey: Typhon Hunter. The Typhon Hunter mode is not in VR. Only the TranStar mode has VR. Also, the TranStar mode is out now in this Prey: Typhon Hunter release.

Of course I didn't buy the digital deluxe edition when it was on sale for BF and of course it's not on sale now. It never fails.

I wish I could have frozen myself in carbonite at the beginning of the year and defrosted myself today. Then there would be great prices for everything I already wasted so much money on.

Which GTAV bundle is the best value for $14.99, Online Premium Edition or the base game plus great white shark card? I'm scared the Online Premium Edition doesn't include the game based on the product description. Sorry, for the dumb question.

Any thoughts on Horizon Chase Turbo? I’m tempted given the genre and a rare 4x split screen vs. game on the PS4, but not sure at this price.

They actually added PS3. That is surprising that they are about to drop service on PSN plus. May have to find some new games for my PS3.

I can still hold out on PS4 prices. Nothing I want to play right away that I can't wait for price drops. I already got my bloodborne and dark souls 3.

I want RDR2 but I am not paying $50-60 dollars. I will wait till its $10 bucks. Hell just yesterday I picked up 60 PS3 games. only one sports title and a limited edition wii all for $50. Less then a buck a game. All mainly generic shooters though.

Alice Madness returns for $4 dollars looks good. So does the castlevanias and the racing games.

So much on sale but maybe the only thing I'll get is Farpoint VR.

I have a BB gift card that I got for a birthday (truly a gift that had so much thought and effort put in to it) that I can use to get something special (to retroactively make the gift well thought out).

BB sells the Aim controller separately and now I can get the game for it.

What else is good with the Aim controller? Maybe that's on sale too?

You sound not very appreciative of something someone gave you as a gift. I mean If your 15 then that's appropriate, not if your 30.

That's probably why is wasn't more personal. You'd find something to complain anyway. Rather then the gesture that someone did something nice for you. If you were my family/friends etc. you'd get nothing with that attitude.

Thanks for the judging. I won't bother the internet with the details of how the relationship works.

Suffice to say, I think I'm looking forward to getting the Aim controller.

All I am saying is be happy someone thought to do something nice for you. Most of my birthdays I don't get anything from anyone. Maybe happy birthday wishes.
