Yeah cause people totally read every reply in this thread.

Smart money says someone will make up something and a fair enough of people will believe them.

Sorry, but I'd like this thread to be as free of fake/false information as possible. People ask enough questions around here with AFD messing with their memories.

im pretty sure i didnt make up rumor about far cry standalone game. i hope its not a joke! altho they could be punking me... omg i don't trust anything or anyone for the next 24 hours. of course they wouldn't come out with a far cry game with dragons and aliens etc. lol...

iv played way too much sci fi this week. from bioshock to zero escape. my brain is melting.

PS+ update is up! Sleeping Dogs, Metal Gear HD, Mass Effect 3, GTA IV, and UNCHARTED 3 all coming! Check out the full update here!

EDIT: sorry Frisky, couldn't resist. Just so everyone knows, THIS IS COMPLETELY FAKE! Happy April Fools:rofl:
I tried to redeem the 30day PS+ voucher that came with my BF superslim bundle but it says it's expired or invalid. The writing on the voucher says it's "valid through 3/31/2013", so I called into playstation support and the rep told me that means it expired at 12am on 3/31/13. I tried to tell her that the use of the word "through" indicates that the date printed is included and that she was describing the word "until".
Just ran into this myself. Got a Starhawk code today, but the expiration was listed as 3-31-13, meaning it expired right as the clock hit midnight this morning.
UBICHI - I've PM'd you a second time. Code for GT5XL DLC is waiting for you. I've got to go out for the night, so can't watch this thread just now.

If you end up not using it, please post it to the thread incase someone else can use it, since it's expiring very soon.

Evening folks :)
@Ubichi, if for some reason you don't need the code, I'd be interested in it.
@Tourista, really glad there's guys like you on the forum helping out when you can. Makes this a good community.

So we have until tomorrow, Monday to get the $10 off $50 promo right?

Right?

This would be a real sad April fools joke if not.

Why not make it a little more believable and say we're getting Bioshock Infinite, God of War Ascension, Metal Gear Rising, Soul Sacrifice on release day, and Tomb Raider?

edit: In case anyone could get confused by my post, not getting those games of course.

Apologizes if this the wrong place to ask, but this seems to have morphed into a DLC thread because of the end of March. Anyway, where is the extra GOTY content in Arkham City? I thought I read it's all on disc except for the movie bonus. I didn't see any pack in flyer for the movie or DLC, so I'm just being extra paranoid because of all the doomsayers. Dunk a Shane in advance.

Bunch of old fucking games, Plus sucks.

I love me some April's Fools shenanigans but I won't do the stuff here as a show of respect to Frisky's hard work keeping this thread up to date all this time.

As an update note to the GoW collection expiration date, the * implies that the expiration date might be changed at any time so it might not even come into effect for all we know since there's bound to be new copies of the game floating about after April.

Otherwise that would make absolutely no sense to have such a small window to redeem the games.
I almost had my GoW collection codes for the PSP remakes expire before I got to use them because I kept it sealed and simply didn't expect it to expire.

I just happened to open it up sometime early March and noticed the expiration date was end of the month.

I wonder what that means to everyone who buys a sealed GoW collection from a place after March? That basically means they won't be getting two games that they were promised.
wait, what? the only code in my god of war collection was for a god of war 2009 e3 demo :/
were these supposed to have the psp remakes too?!

Saga has the PSP remakes and GOW 3. Collection is just the first 2.

Ahh. Makes sense. OP said Collection, which had me rifling through my Collection case looking for it before it expires :D

Still need to get around to the PSP installments of the series.

pretty sure he meant the GoW Saga, which includes the two remastered PSP games on a download voucher.

And sorry for messing up the thread Frisky, hopefully everyone knows my post was fake (though it would be so awesome if it wasn't)

Ok great, thanks. No flyer in a new case from GameStop, so who knows if they stopped packing them in (just bought it this week) or I have a used "new" copy. I'm only really concerned about the DLC anyway cause it's a ton of crap.

It seems they have stopped giving the movie with new copies. I think it might be the different box art ones that don't have it (my 360 copy "covered in taglines edition" definitely came with one). Someone on another thread didn't get one either. I still haven't actually watched it, anyone care to chime in?

it's pretty great and you should watch it.
I PM'd you earlier, think you must not have seen it.

I have a code for GT5 XL I'm not using, shows as being eligible to activate on the website. Do you want it?
Thanks so much! I just redeemed it. I'm glad I checked here again before going to bed, and I got it in in time. I guess I don't need to follow through on that Sony problem ticket about my GT5 XL code. It looks like the list of ones that didn't work for me isn't quite as bad... just 3 that I care about:

Darksiders II (Limited Edition) - I assume because THQ went bankrupt?
SOCOM 4
Top Spin 4 avatar item
Uncharted 2 GOTY

I just entered Starhawk and Tiger Woods 13. On the positive side, Need for Speed the Run and Rage sewer missions worked when I tried later. I think the code entry service is glitchy. For those who asked why I don't like opening games I'm going to play eventually... because I'm not sure that I will play some of them. More than once I've bought a regular edition of a game and then someone had a great price on the GOTY. If I keep them sealed, they are a lot easier to unload somewhere (besides Gamestop) if I decide to. I was thankful I kept my God of War games sealed since I got the Saga cheaper and was able to get rid of the separates.

Does anyone know when the codes in X-Com Enemy Unknown expire? How about the Portal 2 PS3 Steam code for the PC?

I remember Morgan saying somewhere that he wasn't going to play any April Fools jokes on the blog tomorrow. He mentioned something along the lines of "commentors asking for his head on a plater" if he did something like that.

That FarCry standalone game thing is definitely real. There have been rumors about it for weeks.

Indeed, I should've mentioned the full title not to confuse any one. It's the God of War Saga collection which is different than the God of War Collection. Which is also different from Gears of War Collection.

I've just noticed there are way too many games with that title.
Would anyone recommend Warriors Orochi 3? Last game of that kind I played was DW5.
Lots of characters, plenty of stages to play, pretty solid game.
Lots of characters, plenty of stages to play, pretty solid game.
Not nearly enough stages for the number of characters in the game, which ruins it a little bit. The JP version on disc had long loading time and I probably wouldn't recommend that, but since the US version on PSN has faster loading times, the game is definitely a load of fun for fans of the series.
With the spend $50/get $10 promo and now the $10 BBY certificate, I've recently discovered Pinball Arcade :). I originally dismissed it as another virtual pinball game, until I realized they were recreating actual tables.
As soon as I read this, I went to wikipedia to look up the tables they had. My wife is a HUGE pin*bot fan. I am so totally going to get this for her when my PSN credit comes in, and then make sure I get pin*bot as soon as it is available. You have made my night.

Does the $10 back promo definitely go until the end of 4/1? I couldn't find something in the T&C which specified exact times, only the posts on the previous page which said PSN misinterpreted "through" as "until", so I'm a bit worried - Amazon was having trouble with my PSN codes and I ended up putting the transaction through at 12:01am :(

I didn't regret spending 50 on it last year. It got me back into the Musou games after not playing any since DW4.

Fantastic game, loads of fun. They need a sale on it though, It's 30 on 360 and Wii U.

As mentioned, anyone really really REALLY know if it's April 1 11:59pm pst? Not EST, Japan time, not through or until, not from some unclear mod typo quote, or description saying "in March". I'd rather not lose $10.

A whole day of people complaining they lost $10 because they waited til the last day of the promo to take advantage?! Awesome, can't wait!

First person to say Sony screwed them is the winner!

Quick question. I just subscribed to PSN plus two weeks ago, and I love it thus far. However, I wanted to know how often new games are rotated in for the free games, and how many at a time? I assumed it was every month, but I haven't heard anything about new releases for April yet.

New games are rotated in once a week. Today we find out all the games that come in for the whole month of April, but not the actual week they come in (except for tomorrow's game of course).

It doesn't give the exact minute that the promo expires, but here are the actual terms of the promo which say through April 1st.

It's sad that we have to keep up with DLC expiration dates. I see no logical reason for them to expire unless they are completely removing DLC from PSN or XBLA to re-download, etc. (even that isn't a valid reason in my opinion).

Also, the PSN web store still has the banner ad up this morning for the $10 back and it clearly says "through 4/1/2013" so they will have a hard time not honoring it for purchases today.

I made a lot of notes on my games list and will post something in that other thread when I get time (will be several days or a couple weeks as going through my games sucked up many hours I didn't have to spend on the weekend), but that thread looks mostly dead. If not much happens when I post there, I'll be tempted to sneak in DLC expiration questions here. I think now that we've passed the 3/31 deadline the discussions should die down. Since nobody has answered my Portal 2 or Xcom Enemy Unknown DLC expiration date questions, I'll have to work on those ASAP and hope they didn't expire yesterday.

Oh. And here is a PERFECT example why I don't open my games until I'm ready to play them. Among the mess of games I opened was GTA IV Complete Edition PS3 which I got for $13.33 (B2G1F at Target). I opened it last night knowing it was slightly inferior to the Xbox 360 version, and there was no code inside. This morning Best Buy has the Xbox 360 Complete Edition on sale for $14.99. Had I not opened it last night (or had there been better, more complete info about what games have DLC codes inside somewhere on the web), I probably would've bought the 360 version and probably could've unloaded the sealed PS3 version for $15. I rest my case on why not to open games early. I just hope that GTA IV is not too inferior on the PS3. Eurogamer said it had more frequent frame rate hits and less sharp graphics.
It's sad that we have to keep up with DLC expiration dates. I see no logical reason for them to expire unless they are completely removing DLC from PSN or XBLA to re-download, etc. (even that isn't a valid reason in my opinion).
Considering that Xbox Live (Microsoft) has never expired a DLC code or voucher that I've known of, even ones that are many years old, I'd say there is no reason for Sony to do it except Sony (they run the system) is doing it in hopes of screwing people who obtain games later (whether new or used) and hoping they will pay for the DLC they got screwed out of by unnecessary expiration dates. A couple of my non-working codes had no expiration dates, yet they chose to expire those and take away features of the game I should've gotten. It's almost like Sony is telling me: "we do it because we can... what are you going to do about it?"

OR...had you not bought it until you knew you actually were going to play it, you just could have bought the complete edition for 360 for $14.99 without having troubled yourself with the PS3 version. It's not so much about opening games early as it is about not buying them unless you're going to play them.

Not to mention that if you open a game when you get it, at least you're within the return period if the disc won't play, the wrong disc is in the box, something's missing, etc. Your Black Friday deal is an obvious exception, but those exceptions are few and far between and generally games drop in price as time passes, so why not wait until you're ready to play them to buy them?

Anyone know how long the Patapon bundle will last? I want to buy it as a gift for my friend since he won't buy it himself.

Also, there's no gifting for PSN, is there?

Quick question to all cag members, is anyone having trouble getting in the playstation store or even their account management? It gives me an say error saying "an error has occured"? It wont even let me in on my ps vita either and I was able to get on the playstation store last night on my vita but now I can't and I never tried going in the store on my ps3 last night to see if was working or not? I want to know if it's maintenance thing, if not and if everyone is not having a problem on it, I'm going to have to work something out to fix it

Yeah, PSN store isn't the world's best on reporting what the error is. I had the same symptom - I had forgotten to update my CC with a new address (though it had been working on the old address for some time). You may find it easiest to log into the PSN store website and make sure all your billing information is up to speed. Good luck.

Nope, there is no gifting.

Glad I could help :)

Yeah, I figured as much. Thanks for the prompt reply though!

Thanks but I finally figured out the problem. The freaking problem was I had a usb connected to my playstation 3, a F*CKING USB which was causing me to get the errors!! How on the world is a usb able to get me an error on my playstation 3 and my vita!? I am speechless...

Theoretically a good idea. Unfortunately I'm a sucker for games I hear people rave about when they go on sale, especially for $5, $10 or $15. Also, I never know what I'll feel like playing next, and if I suddenly have the mood to play something it's nice to have it on my shelf rather than have to wait for a sale or drive somewhere and pay too much.

My mistake is I shouldn't have bought the PS3 GTA IV when it was on sale knowing it was slightly inferior to the Xbox 360 version. I should've waited, but had the mood struck me I might've played the PS3 version sooner. I assume it's still playable with its frame rate and blurrier visuals. Pretty much the only games that go straight to the top of my list when they come out are the Dead Space and Bioshock ones. Those ones I can guarantee I'll play the moment I get them and enter the DLC. Unfortunately buying cheap games and slickdeals is an addiction/obsession.

Regarding defective games... I've never had a brand new store bought game come with a defective disc. Just non-working DLC codes for the PS3.
