Tempting to get The Walking Dead at that 10.00 price. But is the game really worth it? I hear it plays kind of like Sam & Max, and I hated that game so much. It was so boring and the controls were horrible...
It doesn't really play like Sam & Max at all outside of just being adventure games. The Walking Dead has direct controls and much less of a focus on puzzles. The first episode is free, so there's no reason to not play it and see for yourself if it's something want to keep playing.

gah. still somewhat frustrated I did not get on EU PS+ when it was 20pounds at GAME.CO.UK... (with the 15months promotion now.. it's a steal!)

would have wanted Okami HD (loved it on the PS2)
Would someone that's never watched the show or read the comics enjoy the game at all? (Stupid Netflix backlog)
I think I watched five minutes of the show once by accident. However, I loved playing the first two episodes via a PS+ promo. I just picked up the rest so I can finish the game. So as someone unattached to the source material, I can say it's good on its own.

Cool. Thanks for the advice y'all. Downloaded the first episode to try it out.

Hi guys, I have a question that I hope won't elicit a "read the thread, you moron" response. I've been using MediaGo to download PSP games off PSN, and I spent $70 in credit during the spend $50, get $10 back promotion. I logged into MediaGo, but I don't have any messages letting me know how to access the $10 nor have I received any emails from Sony. I was under the impression that PSN users would be contacted on or after April 2nd about the $10. If I have any of this wrong, I apologize in advance, but I would like to download Riveria and Worms: Battle Island before they go off sale. Thanks.
You dropped a 1. Credits are due around April 12, not 2
Ah, that would do it. Thanks. Well, it looks like I'm going to be paying for Riveria and Worms!

anyone know if mgs PW for ps3 has been on sale before? i could swear it was... any help would be appreciated ..

PEACE WONT COME TO US!

As others have said, trying the first episode of The Walking Dead should let you know what you are in for. You'll be fine if you haven't watched the show or read the books. The game actually captures the feel of the books a lot more than the television show does, (a good thing in my opinion).
just encase anyone is unaware, the buy 12 get 3 PS+ deal is still active. I'd thought it had ended back in march, but their FB says different:D
This is wrong. The PSN store clearly does not have this deal advertised anymore.

If you are talking about the banner found on this page https://www.facebook.com/SonyPlaystation then that is the Europe PlayStation page. So the dates reflected are for the European PlayStation Store only.

oh, maybe I accidentally ended up there trying to get a PS+ trial. Page looks basically identical, so my bad. Weird they wouldn't extend it in the US as well, you'd think it would prompt a lot more people to join (as it clearly already has back in february/march)

so i just read something about a free movie from epix a week for ps plus subcribers? can anyone shed me some light on how that works like is it a chosen movie or one of your choice?

anybody know when the free movie per week starts up?

I missed that. I went to the EPIX site earlier and it said the free movie per week was planned for the future.

EDIT: dammit it - I just realized EPIX only works if you have a cable provider :(

I was worried that you would have to be a cable subscriber, I really hate that. filmthedead; I'm curious if you were able to actually stream content or just download the app? I only ask because in the comments from the page link provided earlier by @FIF someone asked specifically about this and got the following reply:

...The EPIX app is free to download and use on PlayStation, but you must have a EPIX subscription through your local cable provider to access the content.

If answering 'other' works and actually allows content access that would be great, otherwise it will be inaccessible for me. I'll try to look into it further and post any new information I find.

then I have hope, I'll wait until next week's movie to try - I have seen Avengers 3 times already
I wish Sony would get the HBO GO app. Epix isn't available in my area with my cable company.
Same here. I have DirecTV and for some reason they just refuse to carry Epix. I dont mind too much because just about everything on Epix ends up on Netflix eventually. Hunger Games just hit this week or last week on Netflix

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/04/07/the-drop-week-of-april-8th-2013-new-releases/

Here's The Drop for this week:
PlayStation Network

Guacamelee! (Cross-Buy PS3/PS Vita) – Guacamelee is a Metroidvania style game with a light world/dark world component where you play as a luchador. The game can be played entirely cooperatively with the first player controlling Juan and the second playing a woman known as Tostada. The combat consists of melee attacks, as the name suggests, such as punches, grapples and throws. There are also other moves you learn to help traverse the environment such as uppercuts, ground pounds and turning into a chicken. The switching between the light and dark worlds is done on the fly and is used in both combat and traversal.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown – XCOM: Enemy Unknown will place you in control of a secret paramilitary organization called XCOM. As the XCOM commander, you will defend against a terrifying global alien invasion by managing resources, advancing technologies, and overseeing combat strategies and individual unit tactics.

The original X-COM is widely regarded as one of the best games ever made and has now been re-imagined by the strategy experts at Firaxis Games. XCOM: Enemy Unknown will expand on that legacy with an entirely new invasion story, enemies and technologies to fight aliens and defend Earth. You will control the fate of the human race through researching alien technologies, creating and managing a fully operational base, planning combat missions and controlling soldier movement in battle.

Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. – Set in conceived version of the future inspired by the best-selling Tom Clancy videogame franchises, this flight combat action game imagines a world where a private military force has cumulated such power that it attacks the USA. Thrust into the cockpits of incredibly powerful and technologically advanced jet fighters, gamers will benefit from hi-tech piloting assistance, providing comfort, security and enhanced perception. As players gain skills and confidence, they will be able to shed the assistance. But before choosing performance over security, they’ll have to weigh the risks carefully.

John Daly’s Prostroke Golf – John Daly’s ProStroke Golf is an interactive game with a number of fully licensed courses and five different play modes. Put the ball in play with the revolutionary design and realistic physics of ProStroke View and Prostroke Swing!

PlayStation 2 Classic

Fatal Frame
– An isolated imposing manor lurking silently at the edge of a forest and near the outskirts of a small nameless village? Such is the starting point for this game which reinvents the survival horror genre. Project ZERO will immerse players in a frightening and oppressive atmosphere, forcing them to confront their worst nightmares.

I was able to start the trial without issue despite not having Epix on my cable plan last year, so it shouldn't be an issue. To use the service regularly, you need a subscription through a cable provider.

I was able to login to that account and it gave me a new 14 day trial, so I'll see how that goes.

Edit: It's not giving me permission to watch anything on the app but I can watch stuff on the website, so I don't know what's up. I don't really care anyway since they have a successful business plan centered around denying extra subscriptions from those outside of their wall.

I don't know how they're going to offer a movie for free every week with the way it's set-up currently. If you have Epix on your cable plan, then it doesn't offer anything special for you. Those that don't can only get in with a trial, which should let you see everything on there anyway and that's only for two weeks.

Interesting about not being able to watch anything through the app itself, I was afraid that would be the case. I'm guessing that the ability to view the free flicks will only last for the duration of the 14 day trial at most.

I know that EPIX has a similar setup with roku devices; you can only watch through the roku app for a 14 day trial period if you don't have a partnered television service.

If it doesn't work out, I'll be fine with Netflix. Not like I have enough time to get to all the content that I want to watch on there anyway!

If I dont renew my PS Plus and Renew it a month from now will I have all my free games back or do I lose them for good, Thanks..
If I dont renew my PS Plus and Renew it a month from now will I have all my free games back or do I lose them for good, Thanks..
Once you renew your PS+ subscription all of the downloads that you had in your download list from PS+ will come back and be pushed all the way to the front of your download list. This however will happen even if you renew now instead of waiting so do not worry although it is kind of a slight annoyance your games will be fine.

As long as you have purchased the game while you were ps+, they should still be available to you once you renew.

Anyone got the "spent $50 get $10" promo credits yet? I wonder if I can catch the sale with the promo credit. If not, I better buy Rainbow Moon bundle tonight...

Sweet, thanks! I will buy the games this weekend then :) I've to say, PS+ is killing my backlogs. My Vita play list is hardly moving (need a bigger memory card too).

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/04/08/march-2013-psn-top-sellers/

Here are March's Top Selling Games and Add-ons:
We’re back with March 2013’s North American Top Sellers (see Europe’s charts here). This month we have added PlayStation Mobile to the lineup.

Newcomers to the PlayStation lists include Terraria, an endearing, yet challenging side-scroller where you craft, dig and explore, the highly anticipated BioShock Infinite, and the bad-ass PS Vita title Nun Attack. Speaking of Vita games, fans of the JRPG series Atelier will be excited to learn that recently released Atelier Totori Plus: The Adventurer of Arland battled all the way to the top of its list.

God of War: Ghost of Spartarose again to appear on the top 5 PSP games, and finally the PS2 classic vehicular combat title Twisted Metal: Black bumped Grand Theft Auto 3 off the charts.

On with the show…

If you’re not on your PS3 or PS VITA, check out these games and more via PlayStation Store on the web.

How will spring come to a close? I’ll see you next month with all the details.

The fact that Walking Dead SI is above Tomb Raider and Bioshock is disappointing:whistle2:( and seriously, why do people keep buying I am Alive? Am I missing something, and the reviews are actually way off point? I don't get it:whistle2:k

The Walking Dead had a pre-order option for almost the whole month as the show's season was winding down, so that helped it out a lot. Nobody even knew Tomb Raider was going to be on PSN until the store updated and BioShock Infinite seems more like a game you'd pre-order at retail.

I Am Alive did well because it was on sale last month.

It's interesting that 12 of the Top 20 PS3 games were retail games. Also note that Atelier Totori Plus, which had no marketing or announcements that it was even being localized for North America, is the top Vita game of the month.

lolol, NBA 2K13 was released on psp?!?! And that's a game that absolutely needs dual analog sticks. Story of my life, or shall I say......................vita. *rimshot*
