Anyone disagree with this? I can't believe how laggy the store is. Also, didn't know MS updates at the same time every week.
Would I like the store to be improved upon? Of course.

Does it affect me in any way besides a minor annoyance? No.

If there's ever a problem with the store, I just wait until later so I really don't care. If that makes me a white knight for Sony, then I hope I have some cool armor.
Ha Ha Ha Ha! The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct has DLC? We are all doomed when a game this shitty has a DLC strategy also.

At least it is cheap.
Eh the game was alright. I actually enjoyed getting the plat all the way through but it is definitely not worth full price. I think it is worth a rental for anyone who enjoys zombie games.

We've been having this debate for well over a year (lol, only now sans @iamthecheapest). I'm still not sure why you're hung up on the idea that people are complaining about the exact time the store updates, rather than the inconsistency in which it does.

Yes, the new store interface is crazy laggy. Also, I can't tell if it's my Sony hardware or what, but PSN downloads on both my PS3 (fat) and Vita (launch) are excruciatingly slow. It's not my router or connection, as all my other devices and computers work fine.

is that inconsistency life threatening? does updating at 5pm sometimes or 9pm sometimes with the rare next day ruin your finances or something?

I can live with the late updates, and I will endure the maintenance, but for peets sake why is it all so slow?!! The store always lags, videos rarely play well, downloads are excruciatingly slow, and overall it FEELS like a 6 year old system. Compare this to the 360 marketplace, and it's night and day. I love Sony, Playstation, and all their great exclusives, and I prefer to play and buy games on their platforms. But this is just becoming ridiculous:cry:

*end whining*

I agree with this for the most part. I don't personally have a problem with slow downloads (my Xbox may download a little faster though I haven't specifically noticed a difference), though of course it'd be nice if they were faster and I know a lot of people complain about it. I don't particularly care when the store updates, but it would be nice if there was a set time seeing as how MS can apparently do it.

It's mostly the laginess of the store that gets me. How do they not fix that after this long? It's an embarrassment really. I'll tell someone they should get a PS3 and aside from the "everyone else I play with is on Xbox" crap, I hear about how slow the downloads are and how constant the updates are and how the store is a pain.

Hopefully they take care of this with the PS4.

though it's gotten slightly faster lately, my PS3 and 360 downloads are miles apart. A 500-600MB game on 360 only takes about 10-15 minutes, where as it can be anywhere from 30-45+ on PS3. Updates are slightly faster, but still much shorter on 360. It's still all faster than my Wii though;)

I'm not sure why you think my post was limited to just complaints about the timing of the updates.
is that inconsistency life threatening? does updating at 5pm sometimes or 9pm sometimes with the rare next day ruin your finances or something?
Ehhh, here we go with he non sequiturs. No one even remotely implied any of what you suggested, lol. Some people seem bent on taking a contrarian stance, and that's fine. Captain of your debate team? The PS store (NA region, at least) is appallingly bad and amateurish. The whole PS ecosystem feels disjointed. What room is there to argue this? Ahhh, but most of you don't. You instead resort to talking about how you can't be fussed over something "soooo trivial" since you're busy pumping your wife's breast milk. Thanks for taking the time to come here and report in, all the while dismissing anyone who holds a different view than yours.

My only point is that the inopportune maintenance windows and inconsistent updates aren't exactly instilling confidence in most people. At a time when Sony is attempting to usher in digital content delivery, that's not a good look. And that's all I hear anyone saying, really. MS & Nintendo (probably the worst offender) each have their own quirks, so this isn't about favoritism. Anyway, on to my SS demo!

While heavy on criticism, I don't think you'll find anybody who disagrees on how slow and cumbersome the interface has become.
I've gotten used to Sony's inconsistency with updates, but there really is no excuse for how laggy the store is. It reminds me of the Wii-u OS navigation...and that is not a good comparison.
my downloads are fine lol
jumped on tonight to pick up some GTA PSP games...didn't really notice it being slow or anything.

Soul Sacrifice is weird and kind of confusing. Isn't this a game a lot of Monster Hunter fans were getting hyped about? I'm not seeing any similarities at all, but I've only done the rat quest so far. It has sort of a Demon's Souls / Dark Souls vibe with the environment but I wouldn't even know what to compare the gameplay with. Its just weird. Not yet sure if that is in a bad way or not.

Ah man, Poker Night 2 is double the price?

You realize how fast my interest went down when the version that is half price also gets Poker Night 1 in the bundle...

It makes sense after a little bit. Also people call any game with monsters and drops a MH clone now a days... we saw the same with Ragnarok, which was closer to MH, but still quite far from it.

Large boss creatures + four player co-op + drops and crafting = Monster Hunter Clone. There is no room for more games in this genre, just like all of those shitty Doom Clones from back in the '90s. Sooner or later they'll all die out and only Monster Hunter will remain.

Having just finished my first 4 player large boss round and having no history with Monster Hunter, I think it's rad. Had fun, challenge was good, seems like there's a fair amount to do, and the demo gives a lot of content. I think the single player will take a back seat to the co-op though for me, it's waaay more fun.

My PSN downloads have been ridiculously fast anymore. I think they're actually faster for me than my Xbox at this point.

Yeah, I'm digging it so far. The combat in Monster Hunter seems decidedly deeper, especially in regards to the behavior of the enemies. That may change later on, and it's not even necessarily a negative, as many people find MH's combat to be quite clunky. This actually reminds me more of a much more polished, interesting and fun riff on God Eater.

I would imagine they translate 1:1, with the benefit of mapping the D-pad to the right analog for better camera control. Not really sure what you're looking for here.

should be under the games tab on the XMB. You might want to try redownloading it, or just use the Media Go application on your PC.

Go to the web store and search for Resident Evil. Most of the game content you see will likely be on sale.

If RE4 hits $5 or less, I think I might pick it up. Have never played it, or a RE game, but it kinda seems like one of those games you need to play (get my gamer cred back up lol):)

Unrelated, but I'd just like to say that Labyrinth Legends is REALLY short. I already beat it, with only 6 starts missing, and I would wager it took me around 3-5 hours. Kinda glad it's over, will probably wind up 100%ing it just because I'm so close.

I wonder how RE4 holds up if you didn't play it near launch. I hope well because if it does, you're in for a treat.

All things considered, it might win my personal game of the decade award for 2000-2009.
Just finished recording a bit of Dragon Fantasy Book I, so the video will be done uploading in the morning.
Cool, looks interesting, but I'm not typically much of an RPG player so I'll check out the vid.

I've been wondering: what sort of hardware/software are you using to record with?

Not there. Thanks anyways. Will just use the PSP to download all the dlc again I guess. Weird that it doesn't show up on PS3.

Anyone have any opinions on GTA: VCS? I had LCS on PSP when it first came out and loved it. The reason why I want VCS is mainly for the soundtrack. I was hoping it was on par with VC, but doesn't look like it. Can anyone vouch for it? Otherwise I'm only getting VC for the PS3. Thanks for any response.

Thanks. I'm hoping to see Resident Evil 5 Gold go down to a nice "take a chance on it" price.
How do you get PSP DLC downloaded from PS3 onto PSP?
Well one method is to use your PS3, download it on there, then plug in the Vita and transfer.

Another way, depending on what the DLC is, if it's an unlock to a save file (like Aerith for 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy), if it's unlocked on your PSP save file, when you transfer the save file over via PS3 or PC, it will remain on your PS Vita's save file. Note however that my Kingdom Hearts Cloud DLC costume did not transfer over, which was odd. I had to use a PS3 for that.

Edit: NVM I thought you were asking about Vita.

I had VCS on PS2, and while it was a pretty good game, I liked the other games (Vice CIty, GTA3, and LCS better). VCS had a pretty good soundtrack, and did have Phil Collins in the game, but Lance Vance was in the game and more annoying than he was in Vice City. For some reason, I don't remember the missions being all that great as compared to Vice City in VCS.

I would have considered buying it for $5-7 for my Vita, but for $10 I'm gonna have to pass.

Thanks. Sounds good enough for me to pass on it. And yeah, I was waiting for a sale on these GTA games for my vita but thought $20 was too much. $10 is still iffy for a game that's pretty old and was made for an older system.

The store was really shitty for me the first week or so, but after that I haven't really had any problems. Though it is fairly moot now that I can look through the store lag free on a computer (which is by far the best part of the store update). Once they implement the ability to queue downloads from the website it will be great because I'll never have to do it through the console again if I don't want to. If they can just make sifting through your my downloads list easier then things will be mostly golden.

Personally I think that IGN article blows things WAY out of proportions in terms of the volume of console and store updates.
I wonder how RE4 holds up if you didn't play it near launch. I hope well because if it does, you're in for a treat.

All things considered, it might win my personal game of the decade award for 2000-2009.
It holds up amazingly well in my opinion. I played it for the first time when the HD version released and had an absolute blast. To me, its so much better than 5 or 6 its not even funny. (and I liked 5!)
