Truer words have yet to be spoken. I still feel like I'm having withdrawals from not being able to play MGO. You're right, Peace Walker's Versus Ops is no substitute -- the maps are horribly small, the weapons are lacking, and the CQC is weak. There was never quite a game like MGO, and I fear there never will be again. I'm hoping the next iteration of MGO, if it ever gets released, preserves much from its predecessor.
Yeah still praying for either a standalone MGO, someone to make private servers (I hear they are close with MGO1), or the new MGS games to include one.

It was always my fallback game, if I got bored with a new game, I'd always have a room full of friends I could play with. I miss that so much....

Debating whether to get Ratchet FFA as I'm worried it will be in the IGC in the future or an even heavier discount like Infamous FoB going for 2.50 last year.

Cant believe i passed on fob then... Now i wanna play it but it seems to expensive...even at 5$
Must. Not. Purchase. Soul Sacrifice. Damn, Sly Cooper Vita's file size is huge. The PS3 version is probably gigantic.
Try 16 GB. It's taking forever :booty:

Everyone talking about how slow their downloads are really makes me hope they don't put Uncharted up for free. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game, but that would take a good several days just to download, and that's providing you even have the room to do so:whee:

I wouldn't mind Motorstorm, as the demo was quite fun, but really have no idea what else would be a good choice:whistle2:k

Private servers would be awesome. I can't count how many hours I sunk into MGO, I would pay big bucks to revisit Midtown Maelstrom or Groznyj Grad with a squad of teammates.

Does anyone know if MGS2 and 3 trophies share between ps3/vita?
If you bought an season pass you should have it since it's for all the episodes. Now I'm taking a shot in the dark here, try downloading the demo from the store again. When it boots up it the season pass should kick in and then try to download the episode from the in game menu as you would to unlock the other epsidoes with the pass to see if it unlocks. If that doesn't work I'm clueless. Sorry. :???:
Thanks for the help. I couldn't find the demo to dl. But I went to the playstation forums for support. If I don't get my answer there, I'll contact them via phone. I appreciate your suggestion.
Rumor has it that Best of Playstation Network Vol. 1 (which contains Tokyo Jungle, Sound Shapes, When Vikings Attack, and Fat Princess) is coming out in June and will cost only $20
If so, think many people will play fat princess? I still have it on my ps3 and not many ppl are on. More players = more fun. Tokyo Jungle seems fun too

Have you guys received you 10 dollars back for spending 50 yet? I thought we should by now yet it is not showing up in my wallet. I even went to purchase MG PW thinking it would credit me back or something but it didn't. I should have 40 dollars in my walled from PSN! Yes I did spend that much. I knew it was going to be a hassle with sony, no wonder they didn't give you the money instantly.

check your inbox, it's sent as an attachment like the bonus $10 they sent out to some people. Most everyone has gotten it already, so it should be there.

wow thanks man. That email got totally lost in the shuffle! It say it expires the 12th of May! So good I caught it now. I can't believe they put an expiration date on something like that after I just threw them 200 bucks. There is no expiration date on the 40 dollars I assume right? ... My original plan was to use that on Soul Sacrifice as I loved the demo but the luke warm western reviews are making me lean more towards a hard copy of that game so I can sell it later if it gets as repetitive as they say.

Nope, PSN Wallet funds never expire, so just use the code and your good;)

@Voodoochild81, I loved the demo. Just waiting for Finals to be over so I can jump in on the Full Game (and other backlog games!)

at 35.99USD + Bonus DLC + Free Japanese Voiceovers, it's a good time to jump in on this game while the online community is fresh and definitely active! :D

(for the sale, I'm thinking on LBP Vita, PSASBR (PS3.. I already have the Vita...) -but I'm thinking both of them might go IGC...-)

hmm thoughts on R&C:FFA? I'm looking forward to the Vita version, seems like a great game on the portable

I would immediately run out and buy a new PS2 if there were any way to play MGO again. MGO (1 and 2) were easily my favorite multiplayer games, and I have yet to find anything that captures what made those games so much fun.
Here's something to consider for everyone thinking about this... the cross buy logo on the box is ACTUALLY part of the box art. This isn't going to be a limited time offer, this won't be removed during discounts, etc. Not till Sony says otherwise, just assume it will work.
Not trying to be a jerk, but this means nothing. Box art often changes for second printing, compared to the first run of a game. Also, often times stores will have their specific promos on the box art, which aren't featured on copies sent to other stores. So if a promo is part of a first printing only, it can be removed from the box art later.

That being said...cross buy is still active for these games and has been confirmed multiple times now, is in the OP, and I have no idea why people are still asking.

So Zombie Tycoon II is a pleasant surprise. Pretty fun, some variety in levels, can be kinda challenging (especially some of the alternate goals), and multiplayer that doesn't completely suck (although it seems like everyone is still figuring out what to do so it's mostly just 'rush to the other guys spawner' right now). Thanks, Day 1 freebie!

Also FYI for anybody that's still wondering for whatever reason, there is a "Cross Buy" section in the PS Store that contains all the currently available digital cross-buy games. I hadn't seen anybody mention that when answering the question so I thought I would note that. If you select GAMES --> PS3 GAMES, you should see "CROSS BUY" near the bottom of that list and it obviously contains games such as PSASBR and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time despite them not stating the cross-buy feature in the item description. You won't see R&C: FFA since the Vita version is not yet available but of course it states in the item description that you will be able to get the Vita version for free when it's available. Hope that completely clarifies everything.

I'm considering getting Sly, $20 seems like a pretty good price for it and is the cheapest I can recall seeing it so far. But man, 16GB for the PS3 version and I'm assuming around 2GB for the Vita version since the total size is listed as 18.xGB is freaking huge. I have plenty of room on my PS3 but I just hate large downloads because my PS3 tends to freeze sometimes during large file downloads and even though it will resume once I've booted it back up, I have to redownload the whole file or it will give a corrupted error when I try to install the game. Also I'm getting short on space with my Vita memory cards. :whistle2:k

How long do you guys think it will be before the disc copy is $20 or less (or has it been before and I've just missed it) or do you think it will eventually be IGC? I'm pretty interested in playing it although I still need to play my Sly Cooper Collection but would hopefully play it pretty soon.

Sly for Vita is over 3GB. I think 3.3GB or so.

My gut tells me we'll see it on IGC this summer/fall. But my gut also just told me to stuff it with cookies and pretzels at 10am, so it's probably not to be trusted.

well that would be an awesome replacement for one of the three year long titles. Fingers crossed;)

It does seem rather unlikely though, given how new it is:cry:

I obviously don't have any means of predicting what will and won't go to the IGC, but I don't think Sly 4 will be included anytime soon. It's a fine line to walk and Sony can't please everyone, but a move like that wouldn't bode well with the few people trying to support vita titles. Sly is virtually the only 3d platformer available.

$10 might be a decent price to pay for it but I personally found it lacking compared to the past R&C games. I got bored of it after the levels.

It's a lot of fun playing couch co-op. My son and I have played the demo level countless times and maxed out all the available weapons. We're both looking forward to playing the new levels and using new weapons.

so from this, and general reviews, would you say it's not worth it for single player? I hate buying games that require me to hunt down a partner to play through, but I'm so tempted:whistle2:k

I bought soul sacrifice from New egg, and doesn't come with Pre order DLC (well I knew this from before)
but I really want SS pre order DLC ... the Japanese language pack ..

damn it..
makes me wanna cry

I've never played it single player, but I still think it would be fun. Leveling up weapons in R&C games is always fun, and you might like the challenge of defending your base by yourself. Dungeon Defenders is another tower defense game that's better with co-op. I can't ever see myself playing DD by myself because it would be too frustrating. I don't think that's necessarily the case with R&C:FFA.

I only played single player story game and really liked it.

The only thing is a few of the gold medals are really hard to do without a partner (I wasn't able to complete the last 2 on the last level), and I don't think the insomniac time challenges are possible without a partner.

that's what I was thinking, as one review I watched said that it was really annoying trying to find weapons and defend your base. I haven't start DD because of that as well, so maybe it's not worth doubling up.

This. If you like blasting bad guys with the crazy weapons R&C is known for, then you should have fun. Just know that all this is within the context of a tower defense game.

excuse my ignorance, but is the MGO everyone is talking about the online game that came with MGS4? I remember digging that, and i think i remember they dropped the servers, but by that point i wasn't playing anymore.

EDIT - a later post suggests it's a ps2 game. ok, then.

So the download version of Soul Sacrifice is the best one? What is the DLC that you get? Is it the same stuff you got with pre ordering the hard copy?
I can't believe they put an expiration date on something like that after I just threw them 200 bucks. There is no expiration date on the 40 dollars I assume right? ... My original plan was to use that on Soul Sacrifice as I loved the demo but... [snip]
they need to put expiration dates on stuff like that for accounting reasons, if no other. but i agree, it was too short. no expiration once you put it in your account.

re: Soul Sacrifice. get it! heck, you even loved the demo. get it twice! don't listen to reviews for games you know you already enjoy.

download version = preorder version, from what i can tell. so if you buy it now, the dl version is best with the caveat that you can't resell.

I picked up Peace Walker. Hopefully it's pretty similiar to the other MGS games. And features long cutscenes, a convuluted story line, and boss battles where the defeated boss tells his life's story.
(Snake, you've defeated me. Now let me tell you how I turned evil.)
that's what I was thinking, as one review I watched said that it was really annoying trying to find weapons and defend your base. I haven't start DD because of that as well, so maybe it's not worth doubling up.
I think FFA is a lot easier to get into than DD especially if you've played R&C games before. If you play single player, then dopplegangers are your best friend.
Rumor has it that Best of Playstation Network Vol. 1 (which contains Tokyo Jungle, Sound Shapes, When Vikings Attack, and Fat Princess) is coming out in June and will cost only $20
imho, tokyo jungle is worth $20 on its own. sound shapes is a great game, worth $5, maybe $10, depending on individual taste. Fat Princess is a solid concept, but i don't know if it's still got a MP audience. I enjoyed the WVA demo alright, but i don't know how much i'd buy it for... nothing over $5, certainly.

Did you get the PS3 or Vita version?

Fat Princess and Tokyo Jungle should really be on the Vita :/

hmm so FFA.. seems to be a NAY :/

Just got a PS3 and spent all my game playing time last night downloading the PS+ stuff. Now to install it all tonight...

$15 seems like a pretty reasonable price (relative to retail even for used) for the Sly or Ratchet Collection so I might grab one of those. Any thoughts on which since I really missed both series on the PS2?

:ps3: version.
Sly 4 for $20 is pretty tempting too, but I guess I'll hold out hope for a cheaper sale or maybe even it turning free on PS + 6 months down the line.

The R&C series is generally considered the best. After all, until Sly 4 came along, it was the only one of the 3 Sony platform series that made it's way to the PS3. I never played the Sly series although I have the collection sitting in my backlog, but I can certainly give a hearty recommendation for the R&C series. There are some legacy control issues with the 1st game, but the 2nd and 3rd in the series are golden.
