If you missed the two PS4, PS3, and Vita game announcements from earlier this week, the interesting thing about both is that they'll have Cross Buy support for all three platforms, which is an interesting way to get around the PS4's lack of native BC for PS3 games. It would be smart for cross-platform publishers/developers to consider that as a way to overcome that issue for these sorts of games going forward.

Has anyone here buy and play Runner 2 on PSN? I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far. If you do have it, you should add me on PSN. I have 0 friends who have played the game, so I have no leaderboard scores to try and beat.

Didn't see it mentioned, but the Soul Sacrifice codes that weren't working earlier are working now, well they've been replaced with working ones that is:

Q9GJ-BTNL-CEB5
4R7F-QENE-CD4L

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/05/10/soul-sacrifice-a-sacrificial-qa-with-keiji-inafune/

The last two codes have been replaced with new codes that should work:
Spirits’ Blazestone

Ball provided by the Fire Spirits (Attributes: Heat)

Q9GJ-BTNL-CEB5

------------------------------
Spirits’ Frostblade

Ice blade provided by the Ice spirits (Attributes: Frost)

4R7F-QENE-CD4L

IMPORTANT: Story progress to certain areas may be required before these Offerings can be used.

These universal PSN voucher codes are only valid in North America. They can be received in-game by going to “Librom” > ”Network” > ”Peddler” > “Claim Gift” AFTER the product code has been redeemed. Please note: these vouchers, once depleted, are gone forever.

I'm actually really excited about this game and just bought it. I'll be starting it after I finish up Thomas Was Alone (another really unique enjoyable game). We're already buddies so I look forward to comparing them :) I didn't really understand the lack of hype for Runner2. I love those games.

If you are interested in getting any of the other BIT.TRIP games (such as the original Runner), they are currently on sale on Steam for $2.50 a piece, or $11 for the complete pack. I don't recall them ever being ported to PSN, but they run on just about everything, so even if you aren't big on PC games you can probably play them just fine;)

a bit OT I guess since this is the PSN thread, but thought I'd mention it in case anyone was interested.

I've contemplated buying them several times on Steam, but I just never boot up my computer to play games, so they would just end up sitting in exile like Terarria an Poker Night 1 do on my hard drive.

Yeah, I get that. Somehow I've been drifting more into PC gaming lately, but I know a lot of people forget about the games they even own on PC (I do a lot actually:lol:). Just thought I'd throw it out there, but if you don't want them at that price you can probably pick them up in an indie bundle sometime for a buck or two. Or just play the originals on Wii I guess:rofl:They are a ton of fun, and really worth playing somehow;)

I don't believe you are. I'll add you. Thanks!

Downloaded Sleeping Dogs today and resumed my old file.

Man, one of the missions I played left me heartbroken. That's how you know this is a fantastic game.
You don't like the Batman combat? This isn't even the first game to rip it off. (That honor goes to Captain America.) The funny thing is after playing this game, I couldn't go back to Batman because it felt so linear.

The trick is to let your opponent take a swing at you so you can counter. That stuns them more than if you attack them of your own accord. Later on you can spear your opponents and mount and punch them. That's great for crowd control. For now, the best means of crowd control is running as many of them over as you can with your car, hopping out, and quickly grabbing a tire iron from the trunk of the car. (Press Triangle.) That'll make short work of anyone still standing, especially the dangerous fatties.
I never played the Batman games (they remain on my backlog). I guess I probably won't like those either. It's just not my sort of style. But yeah, all I do is counter now, then grab and shove people into things (which is sort of fun I guess ;)). I am rarely driving a car (usually a motorcycle) so I never thought of the tire iron. I have grabbed a few melee weapons off the ground during fights but it seems like they don't last long (they break I guess).
Wow, the combat was what made Sleeping Dogs great to me. I enjoyed it, it was such a change of pace compared to the stiff gunplay of GTA and similar games.
Never played GTA either. I can see how the combat would be fun for some, but it just seems like it is the same thing for every mission and random group on the street: you have to fight off 5-10 guys (and in the missions often multiple waves of them) using the same methods every time. I'm only like 10% through and getting tired of it. I do like cruising around and finding the collectibles though. And the karaoke was a nice random diversion (had my first encounter with that last night). I have yet to do a race but I could see those being pretty fun given the driving I've already done.

got a quick question before i put a good amount of money on the psn store...

can anyone recall a time in the last 6 months that PSP games have been on sale that work on the VITA

around 5.00 each or would it be wise to grab the games now at 10

Games think about picking up in the near future ( within a week maybe) probally wont grab all

Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos
Blazing Souls Accelate
Class of Heroes
Crimson Gem Saga
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days
Fate/Extra
Hexyz Force
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Lunar: Silver Star Harmony
Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle
Riviera: The Promised Land
Ys: I & II Chronicles
Ys Seven
Ys: The Oath in Felghana

thinking about getting either a 20 or 50 buck gift card and hooking myself up with as many of these as i can ...but was just wondering has anyone ever remember seeing these ever on sale THANKS AGAIN

HEY MOD IF THIS SHOULD GO IN THE OTHER PSN TOPIC CAN YOU PLEASE MOVE IT

The Atlus stuff goes on sale for half off all of the time, which is typically with one or two games a week. So those games will be on sale soon enough if you want them. This NISA stuff is available for cheaper from GameStop.com as codes, which is listed in the OP. Xseed also has sales every few months if you're willing to wait.

That's kind of what Hong Kong action movies are like, which is what the game is going for. The more you play and level up your abilities, the more depth and moves are added to the combat to flesh it out a bit more. One of the collectibles is specifically tied to new moves, so you can improve it that way.

If you drive a car more, you can just drive around holding your door open to take out civilians for the hell of it. It's actually there for the hijacking mechanic, but this is a much better use of that mechanic.

Yeah, I actually played the first bit.trip game back when it was a WiiWare exclusive. Loved the design and how unique it was. I wish others would have come out on the HD consoles as I don't play much PC either but I just got the saga on 3DS for less than $10 so that will fill in the gaps.

I'm loving the really original indie games on PSN lately.

Parson the ignorance, but is Sleeping Dogs pretty much the same open world style as GTA? I absolutely can't stand the GTA games, so I'm a little hesitant bat diving into SD or making it wait a while.

Well in gta 4 u can take a taxi. In Sleeping dogs u have to drive=boring.

If u want a crazy open world game get Saint Row 3. =)

You can take taxis in Sleeping Dogs.

Yes, Sleeping Dogs is quite similar to GTA. Seems very possible that if you don't like GTA, you won't like Sleeping Dogs.

hmm I hated gta IV....but freakin loved sleeping dogs...

Played a bit of Deadly Premonition Director's Cut. There are some framerate issues, though I honestly can't remember whether or not it was the same in the 360 version. I want to say the original edition had a more consistent framerate, but I'm actually feeling like maybe it was consistently on the low end. Maybe not. It's not unplayable by any means, but coming off the PC version of Tomb Raider, it's a little disappointing.

I toyed with the Move controls for all of 2 minutes before switching to standard dualshock. Camera movement for move involves pointing at the corners of the screen . . . no thanks.

But controls and graphics definitely aren't the reason to pick this game up. It's really interesting playing through from the beginning with the knowledge of what's going to happen--checking spots in the world where you find clues, and discovering they were there from the moment you could access the areas and such.

My suggestion from earlier stands: watch some of the opening videos, and if you like the quirkiness you should pick it up.

I played GTA4 for half an hour, went bowling with a girl and never touched it again. I got the Platinum for Sleeping Dogs. In my opinion, Sleeping Dogs is way more fun.

The driving in Sleeping Dogs is a lot faster than in GTA. It doesn't take more than two minutes to reach most destinations. You also have a lot more leeway when trying to outrun cops, which I found to be the most annoying aspect of GTA.

Sleeping Dogs focuses heavily on melee combat, and I know that I personally don't like the gunplay in most open-world sandbox games like this, so that's icing on the cake for me.

I didn't like GTAIV either, but I enjoyed Sleeping Dogs.

I was talking about the GTA style in general, from 3 on. Not just GTAIV, which many people found completely devoid of fun.
Here's a good selection of videos of Vinny from GB showing off what's great about Sleeping Dogs through all of the videos that they've done on it and its DLC:
"I think they keep putting these DLCs out because they know we'll make a dumb video of it and they apparently only cost seven dollars to produce."

No doubt the combat is appropriate for the genre - doesn't mean I have to like it though ;).

And yeah, I've found a few of the jade statues. The problem is that just throws more random button press combinations at me and I hate that type of gameplay. (Press X, X square, circle, stand on your head and spin around three times, circle, hold square, triangle + circle + R1, tap X rapidly = one cool attack)

Don't get me wrong, though - I am liking the game and will continue playing it and probably get a platinum. But I like it in spite of the combat, not because of it.

Got a couple of questions.
Is Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, Mega Man 9 and 10 Bundle and Zombie Tycoon 2 only free for America PS Plus.
I am in Australia and I can not see them free here.
Also you have Grand Theft Auto - Begins 4/16 but it is on now
Resident Evil - Begins 4/23. Is the resident evil sale on or coming as i cant see it.
one last thing

Sleeping Dogs is so much better than the GTA games. I can't seem to get into many of the GTA games, but I absolutely love Sleeping Dogs. I hated driving in GTA, but I thought the controls felt almost perfect in SD. Had my first race on the bike through Hong Kong when I started the game, and that was epic. I stopped racing and concentrated on getting all the collectibles first to learn more moves. But now I'm thinking that I really need to get my FACE rating up, so I'm debating whether I should start doing races again or wait until the end of the game.
You can take taxis in Sleeping Dogs.

Yes, Sleeping Dogs is quite similar to GTA. Seems very possible that if you don't like GTA, you won't like Sleeping Dogs.

hmm I hated gta IV....but freakin loved sleeping dogs...

Seems we view those games similar, thanks for posting that. I am more excited now for SD. :bouncy:

one last thing
is there a psn trading thread like the xbox trading thread.
Answers (to the best of my knowledge):

I think those are only for US, but you can check your titles here.

The GTA sale was several weeks ago for us, so I'm not sure what you are referring to. Same for the RE sale, which was two or three weeks ago. If you are only now getting the GTA sale, the RE sale might be soon to follow (I guess they rolled it out at a different date for different territories if that's the case).

Yes, there is a PSN trading thread, you can check it out at the bellow link:

Hope that helped a bit:)
