Got a couple of questions.
Is Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, Mega Man 9 and 10 Bundle and Zombie Tycoon 2 only free for America PS Plus.
I am in Australia and I can not see them free here.
Also you have Grand Theft Auto - Begins 4/16 but it is on now
Resident Evil - Begins 4/23. Is the resident evil sale on or coming as i cant see it.
one last thing
is there a psn trading thread like the xbox trading thread.
I believe there is also a gta sale in the eu psn either this week or next. But, im not sure if its illegal to buy them at all in australia, pretty sure its even be a crime to downloa it from an american account if so.

Edit:
Check here
Answers (to the best of my knowledge):

I think those are only for US, but you can check your titles here.

The GTA sale was several weeks ago for us, so I'm not sure what you are referring to. Same for the RE sale, which was two or three weeks ago. If you are only now getting the GTA sale, the RE sale might be soon to follow (I guess they rolled it out at a different date for different territories if that's the case).

Yes, there is a PSN trading thread, you can check it out at the bellow link:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=233859

Hope that helped a bit:)
Thanks for that.
Looks like those games i mentioned are on the American, sucks as i was hoping for the ratchet and clank game and the mega man games free.
With the GTA sale it is on right now on the Australia store.
I thought the sales would be on the same times across all regions.

Nope, each of the 3 main regions (NA, EU, and Asia) vary quite a bit. If you are in Australia, I'd mostly just worry about the EU region and the EU PS Blog. A lot of deals that comes up in this thread won't pertain to you unfortunately.

Is PSN under maintenance? I keep getting that message when I try to enter the store, but I don't see anyone mentioning it in this thread

yeah, think maybe if i wait they will be free or go on sale for over here. I also only recently just got a ps3 so there is plenty of other games to get.
At least each mission pack is doing something unique and interesting rather than just more of the same.
Oh, I don't have any problem with the amount of Sleeping Dogs DLC.

That was just a paraphrase of a thing Vinny said during the Year of the Snake Quick Look, because of the ridiculous amount of coverage he's given Sleeping Dogs in the last half-year.
Has anyone here buy and play Runner 2 on PSN? I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far. If you do have it, you should add me on PSN. I have 0 friends who have played the game, so I have no leaderboard scores to try and beat.
Feel free to add me. None of my friends understand the greatness that is the Bit.Trip either.

Will do, thanks.

Also, I just booted up Sly 2 to check it out for the first time, and it doesn't allow inversion of a single axis. It only allows for no inversion or double inversion. :wall:
why isn't Poker Night 2 on Vita? I thought the reason it cost twice as much as the steam version was because it had cross-buy support
costs the same amount on 360, so I'm thinking Valve is pulling some strings since it features GLaDOS.

Beyond Good and Evil HD was the same way. I had to fight my way past the controls to beat that game. I'm struggling right now with the ship flying sequences in one of the Ratchet and Clank games because even though I'm able to invert the way I like in the 3rd person sections, the targeting reticle during the flying sections doesn't invert along the same way. I'm able to beat the sections, but no way will it be worth it to me to try to get the skill points/trophies for those parts.

Yeah these remakes from last gen games have been really iffy when it comes down to getting all the inversion options in games. BG&E is in my backlog but I have no desire to play it. Splinter Cell Trilogy didn't allow any inversion until people kicked up enough of a fuss for them to finally issue a patch. I've heard the camera in Ico is pretty wanky as well. Good to hear that at least the 3rd person camera is OK for the R&C Collection.

Ugh. I guess that means I won't be playing Sly 2. Im so used to inverted look that I can't play games where it isn't an option.

Actually, I don't remember any problems in the R&C Collection games. I'm currently playing through Tools of Destruction, which I think I"ve had since launch but only finally decided to play through. Hopefully there's nothing similar in A Crack in Time.

It's funny, I remember reading some form threads elsewhere about BG&E, trying to find a fix, and basically most responses were "learn how to play games, losers."

Tools of Descrution and A Crack in Time are both PS3 installments, so I doubt they would have any of the control issues that the PS2 games had (the ones in the HD collection, R&C, Going Commando, and Up Your Arsenal).

That was all in the XBL thread, though honestly I'd never not play a game because of something like that. I guess some people just can't get over it, but IMO it's worth it for all the games being mention. They are really fantastic:)

I know Ico you can change the controls, BG&E HD I swear I changed the inverted and had no problems with it. Not sure about R&C and Sly 2 I don't remember any problems, but Jak 2 omg. You could take inverted off for normal play, but in turrets it was inverted still.

Has anyone else tried Rymdkapsel on their Vita yet? It's in the PSMobile section for $5. Should see an iOS/Android release eventually.

Bought it this afternoon to play between obligations - liking it quite a lot so far.
Space station strategy RTS - managing resources to build rooms with different purposes and costs, surviving waves of enemies that come in increasing frequency...
I've spent a good four hours with it since buying. Really enjoying it quite a lot!

Not a lot of videos about it yet, but linked one behind the spoilertag, so as not to take too much space.
I don't like inverted controls, but when I'm forced to use them, I just adapt. It's not that difficult.
I don't know. I did have to invert the controls on Sly 2 to finish the game. Otherwise, I naturally moved the wrong direction and kept dying.

Does anyone have a guesstimation when Sleeping Dogs will be taken off? I bought a 3 month PS+ card the other day to play it, Darksiders, and Vanquish, but I just want to know how long these games usually stay on for free, as I leisurely play some games.

I already started SD, but I only play an hour or so of it a day

Once you have downloaded it, it is tied to your account and you can play it as long as you have a PS+ membership. And even if that runs out, once you renew it, you can play the game again.
Other than that, I think I put about 35-40h into sleeping dogs on PC, so you should be able to comfortably finish it in time at your current pace.

Once you "buy" the games that are free with PS+, you have access to them for as long as you have PS+. Even of there is a gap in your service (i.e. your 3 months runs out, you don't have service for a while, and then you get another 3 months sometime next year), once you are back on PS+, you have access to the games again. So it doesn't matter when they remove it from the free list.

Edit: what JJ wrote.
I don't like inverted controls, but when I'm forced to use them, I just adapt. It's not that difficult.
For me, it's a deal breaker. If the camera/controls aren't oriented in way that suits my style, then I just won't play the game. For third-person perspective games like Sly and R&C, inverted controls are a must. For FPSs I need them to just be normal ("up is up/down is down"). And, then for flying games I like the axis inverted.
I've heard the camera in Ico is pretty wanky as well.
That's putting it lightly. Shit is all sorts of bad, lol. SoTC as well, though it is a step up.

Haha, this happened to me in Okami.

I'm not sure if you're saying you've already activated your PS+ and played SD, but the game never leaves your d/l list even if your subscription lapses.

edit: well, damn. helpful cag is helpful.

seems gamestop has a problem with buying those PSP downloads even without putting a credit card info in i keep getting

WTF

o well

Wrestling with the camera in Ico / SotC seemed to be part of the gameplay, ya know, how wrestling with the controls seemed to be part of the gameplay in those original survival horror games like silent hill or resident evil ;)

plus those epic holding onto the fur while upside down wouldnt be as awesome if the camera wasn't spinning wildly out of control til you forget which way is up. :)

fuck apparently I forgot to redeem the credits from the spend 50 get 10 back promo...the message says it can be redeemed by 05/12/13 though...shouldn't it still be active today?

I kept getting confused and turning the wrong way playing Ratchet & Clank 1 from the HD collection until I found the invert camera controls options. I'm sure I would have adapted soon enough, but options are always our friend.

I'd look up the fine print to see if they list a time zone. I remember lots of complaints during the PSN free stuff promo after the hack and long downtime because it ended many hours earlier than people expected.

Wait, what? I am confused. Do wallet funds expire, because if I remember correctly the promotion just added funds to my wallet.
Wait, what? I am confused. Do wallet funds expire, because if I remember correctly the promotion just added funds to my wallet.
Wallet funds don't expire. I never redeemed the promo code to begin with. And after checking through old emails it apparently is already too late for me. Just a mental mistake I have to try to avoid next time.

Unfortunately for Ico and SotC, the terrible camera controls were only one of many things wrong with the games. The controls for both games are awful, period.
Wait, what? I am confused. Do wallet funds expire, because if I remember correctly the promotion just added funds to my wallet.
Pretty sure, like everyone else, you had to redeem a code that was sent to you via PSN message and email. As long as you've done that, the funds do not expire. That code does expire, and if its not redeemed you lose the funds.

That means Gamestop has banned your Power Up Rewards account from online purchases. If there was a glitch in their pricing that you cashed in on (for example, mispriced XBL games which really just redeem as points) then they flag your account.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/05/12/the-drop-week-of-may-13th-2013-new-releases/

Here's The Drop for this week:
PSN

Metro: Last Light
(Also on PS3 Blu-ray) – The sequel to 2010’s critically acclaimed cult classic Metro 2033. Experience thrilling combat with an exotic arsenal of hand-made weaponry against deadly foes – both human and mutant – and use stealth to launch attacks under the cover of darkness.

Explore the post-apocalyptic world of the Moscow Metro, one of the most immersive, atmospheric game worlds ever created. Fight for every bullet and every last breath in a claustrophobic blend of survival horror and FPS gameplay. Next generation technology boasting stunning lighting and physics sets a new graphical benchmark on both console and PC

Dust 514 (PSN Exclusive) – Dust 514 is a free-to-play first-person shooter that’s being incorporated into the EVE universe, acting essentially an action MMO for consoles. The game offers a mix of first-person shooting and real-time strategy gameplay where you play as a marine with a rifle running around on the ground.

It’s not only set in the EVE universe, it’s actually connected to EVE. The Dust battlefields will determine who controls territory within EVE’s world. The EVE Online players will have to contract players of Dust to go in and destabilize territory.

Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery (PSN Exclusive / PS Vita) – Jacob isn’t one to mix with other kids, he prefers the great outdoors and the company of his parents, so spending his summer with a load of weird kids at Summer Camp isn’t exactly his idea of fun, However, when he stumbles upon the mysterious Bigfoot, his summer takes on a whole new twist. Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery is an episodic adventure brimming with weird and wonderful characters and a host of brain teasing puzzles.
Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny – Aden and Sonja, two lifelong friends, live a tranquil life on Fenith Island until they’re struck by a mysterious curse: they awaken to find both of their souls are now trapped in the same body! On top of this unusual calamity, the Fenith they knew is gone, replaced by a strange island populated with unfamiliar faces. Star Wars Pinball (PS3/PS Vita) – Star Wars Pinball is a collection of tables developed with authentic Star Wars moments. Each table features a different iconic moment from the Star Wars universe, with interactive 3D characters, and unique gameplay.

Adding even more features to the Star Wars Pinball experience, this stand-alone version allows you to choose to support the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance with your high scores as the Star Wars Pinball community fights for the Balance of the Force! An experience point progression system lets players move up the ranks based on Galactic Empire or Rebel Alliance support. Star Wars Pinball contains the first three tables — Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars — and additional tables can be purchased and added in as they are released. For those who already own the Star Wars Pinball add-on set for Zen Pinball 2, you can re-download the stand-alone version at no extra cost and enjoy these exciting new features that will have you flipping that steel ball for the fate of the galaxy!

Tiny Token Empires – Tiny Token Empire is an turn-based strategy game. The player plays one of the five major ancient empires: Rome, Greece, Egypt, Persia, or Carthage. By developing cities and armies, and annexing new territories, the player gradually expands his power over the world! But Tiny Token Empires is also a “casual” strategy game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It contains a crazy comical universe: goofball gods, super cute mythological monsters, clown legionnaires, and much more.

Manhunt
– A violent action game from Rockstar, Manhunt is the story of James Earl Cash, a man previously thought dead who wakes up in a town filled with deadly gangs. Guided only by the whispers of a man named “The Director” through his earpiece, Cash must find whatever he can to survive the night.

Players must make strategic choices as to which weapons to use, ranging from silent and stealthy to loud and destructive. Everyday items may be the key to your survival, as plastic bags become instruments of strangulation, and shards of glass your defensive weapons. Escape the nightmare that is Carcer City and maybe you’ll learn the identity of the mysterious “Director”.

Anybody know how does the coop work in RE Revelations? I knows it's online only, but can I progress the main campaign in coop like RE6?

Huh, I had no idea Jacob Jones was coming out this soon. It says and I remember that it was going to be episodic, so I assume Episode 1 is being released next week?

And does anyone actually play Dust 514?

Yeah, it's charged separately if you didn't pre-order.

Angry Joe is the most annoying douche on the planet.

While I've gotten a lot of my hate for my views on this issue, it's being blown out of proportion. Basically, "preorder" copies of the game contain a code that unlocks ranger mode, which will be paid DLC for everyone else. Pretty much every complaint is centered around the mode costing money if you don't preorder, though it's a pack in and as I've pointed out (and probably won't need to here), "preorder" editions are typically obtainable after release for anyone looking for them. Like Bulletstorm's DLC edition is actually more common than the normal edition. While I can't confirm this will happen (just like they can't it won't happen), I suggest looking at it as something of an online pass.

In either case, it just removes your HUD and gives you less ammo. I rather lose a mode like that (though it DOES contain trophies!), than some of the other things they've given we packed in DLC.

Wow he's fucking awful, I've never heard of him but he fucking sucks.

But making Hard Mode paid DLC is pretty scummy too.l
That means Gamestop has banned your Power Up Rewards account from online purchases. If there was a glitch in their pricing that you cashed in on (for example, mispriced XBL games which really just redeem as points) then they flag your account.

Read this old CAG thread for more info:

Joe has a backbone so people hate him for it. I actually agree with him often enough and makes me rofl.

I just found out about this earlier today, I bought the game on ebay from someone who bought an nvidia gfx card. The nvidia promo gives you standard version of the game, not the limited edition so it doesn't comes with all the pre-order bonuses, if I want to play ranger mode I have pay another $5 which kinda sucks... oh well at least I got the game for cheap, I'm going to play it in regular difficulty and if I like the game I will shell out the extra money for ranger mode.
