Meh, every game coming out now a days has some sort of pre order bonus or day 1 dlc they charge for now. I got the game free for buying a new gpu but even if I didn't I would have just waited for the $15 and under price on steam. So at the end of the day it doesn't really bother me what greedy publishers do cause with my ginormous backlog i'm either getting it free or super cheap later on. Can't justify a $60 purchase when I have 5 million other games to play haha.

But speaking of Metro, anyone read the IGN interview of the developer and why they are doing that? Interesting read if nothing else. Don't have the link handy though.

It is quite dumb and sad at the same time lol. And ditto on the Soul Sacrifice preorder haha. That and the cool costumes. I'm a sucker for cool costumes.

Vita games are the only ones I pay full price for these days. Cause I just eat them up. Finally about to finish Persona 4 golden after 60+ fun hours.

it was mostly how Metro Last Light is charging $5 for ranger mode(hard diffculty) if you don't pre-order the game. Then it turn into a discussion about internet celebs somehow, it wasn't that interesting of a discussion really, you didn't miss much.

No longer true now that I've entered the second half of the game, unfortunately. I remember when a character said "...you've probably noticed there's not many guns in Hong Kong..." That's a laughable notion once you get to a certain point :wall:

Still, it's a super fun game that gives good context and meaning to virtually all of its mechanics. And even if it does go heavy with shooting, it's competant and satisfying enough to entertain throughout (chaining headshots for extended slow-mo reminds me of The Club). Not counting Vanquish (as I already had it), it's the most fun I've had with any PS Plus IGC game.

I own both Vanquish and Sleeping Dogs, but I'm glad both came to IGC so more people will play them. For me, they were games that were actually fun, which seems to get lost sometimes in video games.

Thanks, I must have missed it. I saw most the discussion about the Metro Last Light stuff, but not much of the internet celeb stuff. I didn't see anything that was nuke-worthy.

Vanquish completely came out of left field for me. I don't really like third person shooters, but Vanquish was different enough that I had a big grin most of the time I was playing.

Sleeping Dogs was one of my favorite games of last year. It had great graphics (at least on PC), a fun HK-crime-movie style story, great hand to hand and driving gameplay, and a fun open world to mess around with. The game was excellent until guns became more prevalent later on. So glad more people can play it! ...I still can't believe Activision passed on it...

I think it was the post before yours (didn't you even reply to it?), since the internet celeb stuff related to Angry Joe and what people felt about him. (if I recall correctly) Anyway, I agree. The discussion wasn't even that off topic, since the topic may or may not influence purchases. While I am not worried about Ranger mode (it does have DLC trophies though!), I will be waiting for it to drop. It was pretty niche to begin and with the first one not out on the PS3... I didn't have much faith in sales, especially with this whole ranger mode fiasco.

Online co-op applies only to RAID mode. I own and have already beaten the 3DS one. The original didn't have campaign co-op, and the "new" one won't either.

You know it kind of saddens me that they didn't add in campaign co-op as an option. I mean there are times in the game when you just have an idiot ai partner following you so why not allow another player to control them. Then just amp up the difficulty level when playing co-op.

Oh well thats my 2 cents anyways lol. I still love the game. Selling my 3ds copy to get the pc version to play some raid mode with a fellow RE fan. Been wanting to go through another play through anyways so this will be the perfect excuse!
 
RE:Revelation is better off for not having story co-op. While there are some moments where you're shoehorned in with a partner, most of the time, you're alone and the game is best during those parts.

Also, Raid mode is actually quite fun and addictive. I think I sunk around 10 hours or so going through various Raid missions while hunting for new weapons and upgrades.

It's a nice change of pace from the repetitive and overdone mercenaries mode.

A little googling for "messages4.com" suggests it could be legitimate (another company confirms that they're using their services to e-mail their customers, and none of the other results seem to suggest anything fishy). My guess is that it's legitimate, so long as you don't have to give out your password or anything, obviously.

15 megabits per second = about 2 megabytes per second (1.875 megabytes per second, specifically). So the two numbers you're seeing are probably measured in these two different units.

Bad or slow speed. I normally can DL 1GB per 10 minutes. But depends on the network too. Some times it is a little slower than usual. Also other people might get even better speeds than me so its YMMV at the end of the day.

That seems slow to me. I usually get at least 1mbps when downloading things from PSN, which would mean I could download a 600MB game in 10 minutes. PSN will never match your advertised download speeds from your ISP, but yeah, that download speed seems pretty slow.

third, and I just went ahead and took it. didn't ask for any info, just about a dozen or so multiple choice questions on what consoles I play on, and why I play games. Took maybe a whole minute, then redirected me back to the official PS website. Seems legit to me, but maybe I'm to trusting:roll:

wonder what is up did Speedtest and it show download of 20 mb per second...

maybe the router is going out...

Sorry to be off topic, but I guess I'm just finally getting this as well. So if I get 20mbps from Comcast, that really means I'm only able to download about 2.5 Megabytes per second, right?

Swap megabytes and megabytes around and you've basically got it. Also realized this recently, which explains a lot:cry:

Yup, exactly. ISPs and the like will typically advertise in megabits per second (and they'll say "MBPS", which most people will misread as "megabytes per second"). Since 8 bits = 1 byte, you can convert from ___bits to ___bytes simply by dividing by 8.
