Same response as above... Metal Gear Rising, Max Payne 3 and StarHawk all seem like decent deals to me.

I am looking forward to "free" Pinball Arcade. Especially since Xbox PA releases are in limbo due to publishing issues on that platform. It's too bad I can't transfer all my machine purchases to PSN version. Oh well.
This appears to be the Big Fat Sale that Sid Shuman hyped up on the Blogcast last week, which I suspected and tried to warn you guys about yesterday when people were getting excited about it.
Yup, you nailed it. Nice job.
mens room mayhem for 97 cents. Yes Please!
My thoughts exactly.

I mentioned this on the PS Blog, and I figure I'll mention it here, but I don't have any problem with these mobile-style games coming to Vita with budget prices ($1-$3) and trophy support. I'll happily buy Men's Room Mayhem for $1 and hope more games like this are on the way. I may be in the minority here though, but I like most mobile games like this.
I dont see how AC3 Ultimate is a sale.. I mean a game is $40 and season pass is $30
You can get the game right now for $30 on amazon. So in hindsight they're charging you $10 more for playing it within a couple of hours instead of waiting a couple of days.

I'm with you. I bight Sunflowers for like $3? Or whatever price it was. I like these short and sweet, pick up any time kind of games.

Also, when I saw Arkham City I almost kicked myself. Then I saw the price. I just got it on AWD for $12 something. I feel like some of these are OK deals, it not nothing great.

What's this Big Fat Sale I've seen some posts reference? Is PSN planning a decent (not to Steam proportions) sale in the near future? If so, any ideas what will be in it? I'm close to pulling the trigger for Thomas Was Alone, Sound Shapes and Super Stardust Delta soon.

if you wanna read back, you can see that the assumption is that the Ultimate games were/are the big fat sale. If not we may not hear about sales until tomorrow, at least wait until tomorrow night before buying anything.

I'm with you. I don't mind "throwing away" $2 or $3 on stuff like this. If they occupy me for a few hours and give me a opportunity to earn some trophies, I'll gladly support smaller games.

If I've learned anything, I've learned that you should always make purchases on Monday night. So go buy those quick.

No. Sid Shuman, host of the PS Blogcast, mentioned that there would be "Big Fat Sales" this week, which turned out to be the Ultimate Edition Sale detailed here. Unless he was referring to the prices being large, he misrepresented the sales, which isn't really a new thing for him.

There's no assumption. He's confirmed on Twitter that the UE sale is what he was talking about.

I think they already have. I mean, we get some really ridiculously good sales sometimes, then other times... It's like this.

I'd wait for SSD to drop. I tbought it when I got my vita (LOVED SSHD!) and was disappointed I had all the trophies, dlc included, essentially doing and seeing everything the game had to offer, in under 4 hours total.

PSN does a pretty good job. If you're looking for Amazon and Steam-type sales, I encourage you to take up PC gaming.

I know they do a pretty good job in a lot of fields (digital catalog, PS Plus, game exclusives, release-date digital games, etc), and because of that I always support them but in sales like this one I feel they need to do a better job (e.g. Batman digital vs Batman disc).
Thanks for your PC suggestion but right now I only have time for my PS3.

Tempt to get it also

Yeah, I'm jealous that Darkstalkers is on sale... I'm still stuck on the trial to end all trials though. Stupid Rikuo.

Finished Knytt yesterday and I'm surprised the trophy percentage is so low, it's not like it was all that hard... I guess making all of them secret and not 'on the way' really lowers the earn rate.

Ahhh, finally a bargain on P4A. Something to consider when looking at purchasing the bundle though:

$17.94 of the stated value of the Game with all DLC is made up of items that can be unlocked for free throughout the game, just by playing it:

$2.99 Persona®4 Arena™: Navigation #4 (Aigis)
$2.99 Persona®4 Arena™: Navigation #5 (Fuuka)
$2.99 Persona®4 Arena™: Navigation #3 (Mitsuru)
$2.99 Persona®4 Arena™: Navigation #6 (Nanako)
$2.99 Persona®4 Arena™: Navigation #1 (Teddie)
$2.99 Persona®4 Arena™: Navigation #2 (Yosuke)

If you would rather experience the game and unlock things by actually playing the game, you might consider not downloading/installing the Navigation/Announcer voices until you've tried to unlock them naturally.

Still a solid deal, as the disc can be had for $20-25, and even forgoing purchase of the unlockable DLC, adding only the Color and Glasses full packs, $5.99 each, the PS+ price still comes out cheaper at $28 vs $37.

You could almost view it as buying all the DLC and having Sony throw in the game in for free with this bundle.

The disc version does come with a VERY nice, beefy, full color 68 page manual though. A .pdf is available for download here, though some will prefer to have a printed manual, especially one that size which is so nicely produced. Real rarity of late.

Just some thoughts.

I miss games that came with awesome manuals. Ones like the Sly (designed like something from the game, in that case the Thievius Raccoonus, which got more tattered with each game) or the Ratchet and Clank fold out poster with all the guns on it, were really cool and felt like part of the game. Then you have crappy B&W 5 page ones, which amounted to little more than health and copyright info, and now you have nothing in a lot of games. Just makes the it feel a little....empty:cry:

Most people are probably never going to be able to finish Score Attack with even one character, though, let alone all of them. Even finishing Challenge Mode for one character is nontrivial for casual players.

Wow those prices on ultimate editions are outrageous lol. 57 bucks for Transformers and its DLC? 63 for AC3? 50 for FC3?

Those are all 19.99-29.99 games at retail that dont have too much DLC worth buying

I would LOVE to buy DmC and others but not at those prices lol

Super Stardust Delta is amazing. In my opinion, they actually improved on the original by making a few streamlining decisions. Yes, I plowed through the trophies, but i'm also really good at super stardust. But as the previous poster said... why stop playing an amazing game just because you got 100% trophies? Besides, it's a great pick up and play game.

Like I said, once you get 100%, you've seen, and done, everything there is to do. I see no point in playing after there is nothing new to experience - no matter how good the game is. I've never been one to care for high scores and leaderboards.

But that's exactly the type of game SSD is.

I can see your argument here. I dont care about high scores either. I just like to see as much of a game as I can. Probably because I will never be as awesome as the high scorers out there.
But that's exactly the type of game SSD is.
True, but still fun to just play.

Thanks for making me see the light with that knowledge. I was about to start Trine 2 up soon. Good to know I can just get the 100% platinum within the first few levels and not even finish the game. Since I have the 100% then I don't have anything more to see, right?

100% and platinum are two different things... and 100% is subjective as 100% trophies and 100% of the different activities in a game are very different animals

Under his name says Trophy Whore, so I'm going with 100% trophies and he is moving on. Judgement call!!
But that's exactly the type of game SSD is.
I took it as a game that was far too short, and lacked longevity, for my $15 (or whatever I paid for it.) If you're into playing the same game, for high scores and bragging rights, that's fine. It's time I use elsewhere. My opinion could be somewhat swayed by the fact that I played the hell out SSHD on PS3 trying to get 100%, so SSD was just more of the same for me.

Are you seeing everything the game has to offer without finishing the game? No. In Trine 2, you can get the platinum without even seeing all the game has. Totally different getting 100% in Super Stardust Delta, seeing the entire game in the process, and getting the platinum in Trine 2, without even completing the game. Actually, if my memory serves me correctly, you can finish Trine 2 and not even earn a trophy.

Your logic doesnt work with that comparison.

Once I have seen all of what a game has to offer, or I get all I can out of a game, I tend to move on to the next game. Its been a long time since I was a kid with access to only one game every few months.

Both of the Super Stardust games are high score games, so I can see why you don't play them after getting the trophies. To me, there's a lot more to enjoy about them beyond the trophies.

Thing keeps breaking on the internet... people take things too serious, lol.
I'm pretty sure you can keep playing a game after you have all the trophies. I'm not 100% on that though.
Uh-uh, that's why I totally stopped playing Super Mario World in 1991. No trophies, I was done after finishing it. I mean who wants to play a fun, and wondrous game after they get 100% trophies?!

In all seriousness, does the GOTY edition of Batman AC feature all DLC? If not id rather go with the digital version as to not take up more space at the house. But if it does id rather purchase the retail version on Amazon.

You can keep playing the same game over and over if you like. At some point in the game's life, I will have gotten everything I can get from it. If that is being bored of it, an unbeatable personal best, 100%, Platinum, or a spot I cant get past. Once I am satisfied with what I got out of the game, I move on.

fuck all of you that said to stock up for the big fat sale. what a crock of horseshit, and i bought a 20 buck psn card plus had 15 left on . what a huge let down

funding with paypal FTW. I don't see why anyone would buy a PSN card before a sale, you can get them instantly through amazon. I guess some like to use credit, but even still, at least now you have a stock pile for future sales;) but just for the record, Frisky did say not to get your hopes up.

quite a few people told me , one gent even pmed me. last time i buy before i know whats going on , but there better be other stuff on sale.

Speaking of trophies, i got my 10,000th trophy the other night.
it was 'The Force is strong with this one' wootwoot! from starwars pinball.
9,999 was 'Galactic explorer' ' so i don't know which title is cooler, but still better a cool phrase like that then 'The Whole World Went Away' which was my next trophy after dream team for riptide plat. well, all 4 of those would have been cool 10,000. ok peace out

So what you're saying is someone PM'd you to say - "Hey, you should stock up on PSN cards to get ready for the "big fat sale" that's coming"? Why would anyone need to stock up on PSN cards?

He must have been very persuasive because I'm not seeing anybody going nuts about it in the past few pages of this thread. Slidecage is the only person that I can see that responded to your post about it.
