Im waiting for a $20 copy of Tomb Raider physical. So I can just enjoy it and resell it.
I've got credit to burn and want this game, but I also can't help feeling like I'll probably get burned either by it becoming a free PS+ title in the near future or by finding it retail for $9.99 in a couple months. Kinda frustrating like with Sleeping Dogs. I bit on the $24.99 sale they had on it and then a couple weeks later it was free for Plus and I hadn't even touched it yet. :headache:

Don't buy a game unless you're going to play it right away then. I don't mind if there's a price drop/sale after I've already completed a game.

I don't want to get greedy, but is there any way to get those vita ps+ games from the hongkong account to play on my Vita on a different profile (like i am able to on ps3 with chaoscode/sonic adventure/datura and earn trophies. or is this un doable because of the 1 profile limit on vita? Thanks alot.

got my answer. thanks.

That was the ultimate tipping point for me in waiting, after all Squenix published Sleeping Dogs and Deus Ex HR and shown that they're not afraid to do insane discounts on a frequent basis.

For anyone else that's wondering, yes you just need a separate memory card that's either blank or that you're willing to format. You also have to reset the system to factory each time you want to swap memory cards since they'll then have separate profiles. Pain in the arse I tell you, didn't realize it before I started though so now I'm trying to play what I want on there and get done with it.

Anyone hear what J&D will cost? I am hoping for $20.
Haven't heard about the PSN version but it's probably going to be $30 like the retail release.
I can live with $30. Here is to hoping for a Week 1 PS Plus discount.
It should be 10% off since it's also a physical release, which should make it about $26.99.
That'd be nice, but is the 10% really worth the amount of space? I know my 32GB is bogged down by a lot of the PS+ games already. And since there was no official memory card price drop, nor bigger storage, it was a bummer. I think Sony didn't do anything about it because they were banking on the PS4 to help generate PS Vita sales. But anyways, I'd rather have Jak and Daxter on my vita too, even though the PS3 version is $10.

Yeah, for $3 I would probably take the physical copy to save the space and then if you happen to decide to sell it off at some point and you get more than $3 you've just come out ahead.

Woot at God's Eater Burst! I've been wanting to try that for ages but never wanted to pay the $20 for it. Can't wait to give that a shot. Already have SR3, but it's a blast for anyone who doesn't.

For those who haven't gotten Vanquish yet, at least add it to your download queue. It's one of my favorite hidden gems on ps3.

That was what I was thinking...I don't want to get burned buying the game only to end up getting it free sometime later from PS+ >.<

Agreed on both counts. Watched a video of Gods Eater Burst this morning and it looks fantastic. Vanquish is the PS+ game I'm playing right now and it's pretty great, it's this weird combination of Bayonetta, Mass Effect (minus the talky bits) and Gears of War and it works. There's some really cheap deaths on the hard difficulty but nothing that's made me want to stop playing (though the randomness of the weapon upgrade system does make those deaths a tad grating when they happen right after you've gotten crazy lucky and made huge upgrades).

Also, where on earth did the buttons go that take you straight to first unread posts from the forum?

thirded, Vanquish was a ton of fun! Only bad thing I really have to say is the story was garbage, but otherwise I had a completely great time! Here's hoping Platinum doesn't completely abandon the franchise, or at least does another shooter sometime.

In regards to the upgrade system, I actually really liked it. The way it works is that you get an upgrade everytime you pick up ammo while you already have a full clip. It seemed like a really clever way to get past a common annoyance in shooters to me, though I played through on normal so maybe it's different on hard.

Get it. It's the bee's pajamas. Good for short little plays here and there.

I was able to get through Hard on Vanquish without too many cheap deaths here and there. But good lord at the God Hard difficulty. I couldn't even get past the first damn mission lol. Could or did any of you get through God Hard?

No discounts this week? Not a huge deal, but they always seem to throw in one token discount per week at least.

Doing that still wont allow you to earn trophies to your main profiles. Digital games for the vita are locked to the profile that they were downloaded under, so the trophies would go to your Hong Kong account. I wish it wasnt like this

Don't get me wrong, I like the upgrade system it's just that when some random huge piece of debris comes flying and hits you in the back for an instakill after you've just gotten a dozen little upgrades and the next life none of it helps you out is deflating. Only happened in two or three spots (and once back to back in one spot after two lucky lives) and were the only sour moments in the game thus far.

The story though... it definitely is that way over the top nonsense that you see in the games you see in Platinum's "family tree". The voice acting is more painful to me, especially when the main character and the giant chain gun guy are bickering in their we're trying to be overly macho tough guys voice.

Damn. To get Sound Shapes or not?! I don't see myself playing it for a while, but I doubt it'll be this cheap again for some time...

Just play the demo, it will sell you instantly unless you lack all soul.

Yep, makes the pain in the ass even less worth it unless you really want to have stuff from another region on a regular basis. Personally, I'm going to return the two 8GBs and just bite the bullet on a 32GB once I'm done fiddling with the games. It's a shame though with how amazingly well Sony handled multiple accounts on the PS3.

Here's the PS+ update for this week:

After an incredible week at E3, we’re back in action with our noses to the grindstone, so to speak. You likely saw the announcements that touched on PlayStation Plus, and we’re looking forward to sharing more news with you in the coming months on PS Plus and the benefits of one membership across PS3, PS Vita, and now PS4; of which we confirmed will have an Instant Game Collection.

Of course, we’re still bringing you new content every week in PS Plus, and this week is no exception. With tomorrow’s PlayStation Store update, you’ll have access to the critically acclaimed Saints Row: The Third on PS3, and the anime stylized PSP action game Gods Eater Burst (compatible on PS Vita); both free with your PS Plus membership. Read on, and let us know what you think!

June 18th PlayStation Plus Update

Saints Row: The Third (PS3)

PSN Price: $39.99, Free for PS Plus members

Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobble head dolls all available at a store near you. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to a new city.

Gods Eater Burst (PSP, Compatible on PS Vita)

PSN Price: $19.99, Free for PS Plus members
In Gods Eater Burst, the earth is plagued by altered beasts known as Aragami. The player is a new member of an elite force created to wield the God Arc (the only weapon capable of killing the Aragami) and devour the hostile gods. The player’s mission is to defeat the Aragami and gather material from them for research, but the player soon will realize they are being drawn into a giant conspiracy that will irreversibly alter the fate of humanity

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/06/17/littlebigplanet-update-the-summer-special-edition/

LittleBigPlanet sale for this week:

That’s not all though! We have some amazing LittleBigPlanet offers that will be running from June 18th until July 2nd. This is a great chance to pick up some LittleBigPlanet goodness at bargain prices of at least 50% off!

All of the LittleBigPlanet titles are going on sale, along with a whole bunch of your favorite Levels and Costume Packs.

So this is a great chance to pick up the titles missing from your collection or some of our great packs such as theCross-Controller Pack, the Toy Story Level Kit, the Muppets Level Kit and oh so many great costumes!

These offers are only available for a limited time though, so head on over to the PlayStation Store later this week and take a gander at all of the great LittleBigPlanet bargains before they’re gone.
There's also going to be a free Summer Creators Pack out for this week only for LBP2 and LBP on Vita.

^Nice.  I'll probably grab the Muppet pack for LBP2 and definitely grabbing the cross-controller pack.  If the Marvel Pack DLC for Vita is on sale too I'll be grabbing that, even though I don't have the game yet.

Same here. Then wait for LBP(vita) to show up in Nov lol.

You must buy it, one of my all time favorite PSN games! Worth it for the awesome Beck songs alone, what I'd give for a standalone soundtrack :bouncy:

It's not the awesome beck songs, but Jim Guthrie (who did the amazing music in SuperBrothers Sword & Sworcery LP) released the songs he did for SoundShapes on his Band Camp page as a name-your-own-price deal. It's only four songs, but they're all good listens.

By the way, for LBP Karting owners that want some free DLC, here's all of it that's on the PS Store:

Kabuki Actor Costume

Monkey King Costume

Sack in the Box Costume

Sack-Eating Plant Costume

Limited Time Seasonal Costumes (Still Free if Purchased Previously for other LBP games):

Cupid Costume

Festive Goodies

Groundhog Day Costume

Halloween Mask

Mariachi Costume

New Year Fireworks Costume

Perseids Costume

Sacktue of Liberty Costume

Santa Coat and Trousers Costume

Santa Hat and Beard Costume

Solstice Costume

Turkey Head Costume

World Peace Day Costume

All of these are Cross Buy with the other three LBP games, so you'll also get those versions of the costumes.

And for those getting Saints Row The Third this week, here is the free DLC for that:

CheapyD Pack

That brings up something that I've been wondering about since I hard LBP Vita is supposed to be really good (maybe the best of the three?) and been contemplating grabbing it. Is all the DLC cross buy or is it just select items?

All of the costumes are Cross Buy between the games outside of maybe a couple of items, but anything you see here is free via Cross Buy if you already got it for one of the other games.

By the way, for LBP Karting owners that want some free DLC, here's all of it that's on the PS Store:

Cupid Costume

Festive Goodies

Groundhog Day Costume

Halloween Mask

Kabuki Actor Costume

Mariachi Costume

Monkey King Costume

New Year Fireworks Costume

Perseids Costume

Rare Prize Crown Costume

Sack in the Box Costume

Sacktue of Liberty Costume

Santa Coat and Trousers Costume

Santa Hat and Beard Costume

Slurpee Shirt Costume

Solstice Costume

Turkey Head Costume

World Peace Day Costume

All of these are Cross Buy with the other three LBP games, so you'll also get those versions of the costumes.

And for those getting Saints Row The Third this week, here is the free DLC for that:

CheapyD Pack
A lot of those are only free if you got them before. For example, the Rare Prize Crown and Slurpee Shirt are definitely not free unless you got those items previously.

I only thought this thread could be hard to keep up with before.  Now with the jump to new post thing broken it is practically impossible without just keeping the page open and refreshing. :(

This is weird I know, but I tend to just go to the last page and read backwards now to catch up. It's like Jeopardy. Get to see all the answers before the questions.

Ha! Jeopardy I like it. That's what I do as well.

Ha! That's exactly how I do it.

I come to this thread enough to know where I left off.  The "last unread post" never worked for me when I used it, it would always put me further in the thread then I really was.

hmm seems like the response with Unfinished Swan (are mostly good) and some really loud NAYs too

anything else I should consider from this sale?

I am finally done with UC3: GOTY... and sheesh it felt kinda underwhelming (game was pretty though)

Agreed! I loved Vanquish. It was a very pleasant surprise, because, to be honest, I would have never believe that the Japanese can make a shooting game like this. But not only did Platinum succeeded in crafting an excellent game, they had managed to make one of the best shooters of all times. I really do hope we will see more Vanquish games.

Can't wait to play Saint Row the 3rd, but I have to get through XCOM first. And I may have to purchase a Vita now...just for God's Eater Burst and other brilliant IGC games for Vita Plus members.

That's good work. Looking forward to it. Thanks!

If anyone picked up Germinator when it was free for Vita or on sale off PSN, I am putting the finishing touches on the trophy guide. Have all 75 3 Star solutions for Puzzle Mode already posted.

As if I haven't said it enough, GET SOUND SHAPES! Also The Unfinished Swan is awesome, but I think I've said enough about my love affair with it.

Very nice and perfect timing! I just got caught up with downloads last night after upgrading my hard drive to a 1TB. All my Vita games are on my PS3 now and ready for transfer so I will be trying out Germinator tonight.
