Great, I have Silent Hill and haven't played it yet. The online is supposed to be completely dead though, and there's trophies that need 4 people at once. If anyone happens to be getting it, let me know and we can help each other out...

Im gonna hopefully get it and I am definitely interested in getting those trophies that require four people.

Can anyone recommend the best or one of the best external HDDs to use with the PS3? I finally subscribed to PS+ last night, and went to download X-Com and Uncharted 3 on my PS3. I didn't have enough room on my 80GB HDD for Uncharted 3, and I also see Batman Arkham Asylum for $5 and the Ratchet and Clank HD Collection for >$10 in the Summer Sale, so I've just decided to purchase an external HDD.

Most likely a 500GB or maybe a 1TB HDD would be more preferable.

I didn't think you could use an external hard drive with PS3. I think internal is your only option. The hard drive is very easy to replace except for the backup or re-downloading function which just takes a lot of time.

I'd recommend not getting an external hard drive since you can't play games off of them. You'd need to grab a 2.5" internal HDD to replace the drive in your PS3, though you can use an external hard drive for the back-up procedure to the new drive.

Sweet, Oddworld Munch's Oddysee is a pleasant surprise.  I was about to start BF3 so now I can trade in my disc copy and just play the digital version.  Dokuro is an awesome get for people who don't have it.  Great month.

well...this is disappointing. Dokuro is the only game that really interests me, but sadly I still don't have a Vita. Oh well, still have a ton of last months games to beat, and the discounts are pretty good :)

I've passed on Battlefield 3 at $5 before, so I guess it's nice that I'm getting it for free.  I'll never play it though.

Looking at the list of the games on the PS Blog, my reactions were:

"Yuck"

"Damn, another PSP game"

"Meh, already got it for free on Vita"

"Damn, already own it."

"fuck YEAH!"

Munch's Odyssee will make the whole month for me!  Been waiting for that game to get a price drop for quite a while.

Wow. This is pretty great. I mean, sure, most of us will get flattened in BF3 multiplayer, but this is pretty great. Though the Jet Set Radio was out for the Vita earlier, but gives those without one a chance. Munch's Odyssey was some great fun on the original Xbox. Metal Slug will be great for those who want that quick action. Sadly, I don't know much about Dokuro, but I heard it was good.

Wow, rather decent month. Had Metal Slug XX when I was younger (now I have it on XBLA) and that was fun. Got Dokuro when it was 1/2 off & that's a fun puzzle platformer. Need to finish JSR on XBLA. And Munch's Oddysee will be interesting to try out.

I already have BF3 on PC and probably won't play it on PS3, I thought we already had gotten Jet Set Radio for free with ps+ since I own it but I must of bought it and forgotten about it. Dokuro I already own, Metal Slug is meh not really into that series, Much's Odyssee is a welcome addition though.

piss ass month

Thought for sure that one vita game would be out this month.. The one that was canceled in  june

The Vita version of JSR was free in the past, maybe that's what you're thinking of? Pretty meh month for me, I'm glad I didn't pick up Dokuro last sale though.

maybe, is JSR a cross-buy title? I was browsing my download list on PS3 and it looks like I own both versions (Vita and PS3)

I agree with this post. Although I do love Metal Slug and will gladly play the ass off of that. They could deliver the entire SNK catalog in PSP form and I'd eat it up I imagine.

Very pleased with Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD.

Dokuro is a great game and I recommend that to anyone with a vita. I imported a physical copy and really enjoyed it.

Great batch of games and amusing, Battlefield 3 is the weakest of the bunch for me (already have the Origin version with two expansions for ten). Really excited for the rest, but really want Metal Slug XX. I just hope they put the Collection on sale as well so I have all the Metal Slugs on hand.

I already have BF3 but I wouldn't mind having a digital copy. Faster loading and to give my BD drive a rest. :)

This month is neither good nor bad for me.  BF3 is a good MP game but I have it on the 360 with Premium.  The Vita games are useless until I buy one if ever. Oddworld should be cool. Not that interested in JSR. Oh well I have tons to plat so one meh month won't kill me.

I am skittish about buying the good sale games just because of PS+. Not sure how often a game gets a great sale BEFORE being on PS+. Anyone know?

Dang in the past two weeks Ive been burned twice now. Bought Dokuro for $9.99 and LBP Karting for $9.99 as well. Curses!  :bomb:

Oh well BF3 for free and Oddworld makes up for it.  :booty:

What do you mean by "BEFORE"? The closest that they've gone on sale has been maybe a month beforehand.

Already have Battlefield 3 on 360 where I've put in 200 hours, but I'm excited to play it on PS3 with a buddy of mine who only has a PS3. Metal Slug, I'm indifferent about. Already have Jet Set Radio on Vita from when it was free and I bought Dokuro during a previous sale. Oddworld is a nice surprise though.

Could be better, could be worse.

Jet Set Radio is one of the greatest games of all time.  Good month for those who don't already have it.

Looking forward to the Metal Slug.  As for Battlefield 3.. PS+ gets enough FPSes as it is. :/

For a little bit of math, over the course of the IGC era of PS+ (June 2012 to July 2013) not counting the IGC intro/refresh months (June 2012, November 2013, and June 2013), there were 54 games released for PS+ and only three of them were Sony games (Starhawk SP, Malicious, and Hot Shots Golf 2 for PS1) . So based on that, the odds of buying a Sony game and it appearing on PS+ in a non-IGC refresh month are pretty small. Third-parties on the other hand are a whole other concern, though I'd make sure to denote relevance to upcoming releases (Borderlands, Saints Row The Third, XCOM, and Battlefield 3 months before their sequels/spinoffs release).
