Thinking about getting Growlanser, Gungnir, and Hexyz Force. Might have to see some reviews on these. If I like them enough, I might just get their UMD equivalents.
Good luck finding Hexyz Force complete for a reasonable amount (sub $30).

I'm playing class of heroes currently and the game was mildly frustrating for the first 5 hours of gameplay mainly because of 3 things:

1) The only equipment you can use is the standard equipment for 3 levels.

2) Battle encounters range from super easy so super cheap. In any given fight, monsters in the first dungeon can kill your team because they are over powered (with spells) or have resistance to slash weapons (daggers are the only thing you can use at the onset). Now that I have different weapon types, I feel that the game has shifted the other way in favor of the player where combat is almost too easy.

3) Dying requires you to go back to the town's infirmary and reviving them with gold which is near scarce at the beginning. Little to no gold also limits your ability to buy healing items/food which could be important depending on how deep you to into dungeons or how far are you from a warp point.

For anyone who is looking to pick up this game... my advice to you is to have a cleric in your party to appraise all the items you find after a battle. Without one, you will need to spend all your money on appraising from the shop where you could be using that money instead on crafting or buying restorative items (or reviving your party).

Game starts slow, but it's starting to pick up now for me, so for $3.50, it's worth a buy IMHO.

Namco-Bandai is taking a vote to choose 3 new Tekken Revolution characters.

http://tekken-revolution.bngames.net/chara/en.php

Here is Harada's post:

http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1rlaf1t

PROCESS OF DECIDING CHARACTERS

1) The character concepts will be narrowed down to 3 by conducting a poll on the Facebook Tekken page. Anyone can vote, so make your vote count!
2) The Tekken development team will create character concept sketches for each of the three chosen characters.
3) The character concept will be chosen at the Fighting Panel at San Diego ComiCon on July 19th at 3pm by the audience and Tekken God, Harada-san(Twitter@Harada_TEKKEN). The method of selection will be a final vote, and discussion with members of the development team. We hope that the most vocal Tekken fanatics will show up to the panel. It’s your chance to speak your opinions directly to the development team!
4) Development of the chosen character will begin.
5) Release of chosen character in Tekken Revolution (timing of release is TBD, as the difficulty in development of the character depends on the concept chosen)
6) If the character proves to be popular after release, the chances of additional appearances in the Tekken series will increase!

Sounds like you should check out Dragon Fantasy Book I.
Thanks for the recommendation. I was looking at it when it first came out. But decided not to pull the trigger because I still have too many other games to play in the backlog.

Also, GTA5 is coming out soon and I am a Rockstar/GTA junky. Then I want to get The Last of Us and then of course the next gen will be upon us. Sadly I dont think I will ever go back to an RPG due to time constraints. Unless they remake Final Fantasy 3/6 (I know people want Square to remake FF7 all the time, but the SNES classic is my all time fav RPG)....that I would play right away.

What's everyone's take on Tales of Graces f? I've never played a Tales before. Just started Graces. 2 hours in and I'm not feeling it and with such a backlog wondering if I should keep going. NCAA isn't helping me get back to it either. One of my favorites every year.
I say keep playing it. After you get out of the child story arc you will be fine. The story is ok but the combat is a lot of fun.

I meant to comment on it earlier ccjmli, but I agree with sherlock. I adore Tales games and even for me the child arc was a chore to get through. However, the combat in that Tales game in particular was one of the best imo. Once you get deeper into it, it really shines.

after messing around  with  Gungnir on my psp finally  i cant    see it worth   paying  7.50  to  just port it over to the vita    (maybe it will grow on me more this weekend  ) but right now  i really  dont like the game....

Just cant pull the trigger on  s.. hill either  cause     i could see this going on the  FREE SIDE Of  psn  +  within the year...

then again i paid  10 bucks for rivera   just to see it fall to 2.50 on sale  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH  will never buy another  psn game for  full price again LOL

that  and

Shin Megami Tensei IV coming next week  that will take me a month + to play  and that will lead me right into  Mario and Luigi: Dream Team (aug11)

what many review says is a  good  40+ hour game   will lead me into  dragon crown and

Valhalla Knights 3  what should last me until  pokemon 3ds hits

not much time to play   other  crap

I absolutely loved J'eann D'arc. I really don't know why there hasn't been a sequel made by now. That game was brilliant, and deserves a sequel. Wayfarer looks very good. I've always loved character driven rpgs, and Wayfarer looks to have that in spades.

Well, PSP RPGs in general didn't always get their fair shake review wise. Aside from ports and the occasional standout like Trails in the Sky and J'eann D'arc. Heck even something as good as Trails can't crack over 80 on Metacritic.

Wayfarer in general is regarded as the best in the series aside from maybe 2.

I decide to get Lego Batman 2(Vita), Alice, Class of Heroes, Growlanser, Rivera, and Hexyz Force. Now I'm 12 cent under to purchase.

Good lord.

I don't know whether to be amused or frightened.

Then, drop Lego Batman? I don't understand why people are knowingly supporting a shitty game. I know we had a long ass debate about "opinions" earlier this week, but the lack of care put into of these LEGO ports seems indisputable. AND, they did the same thing with LOTR.

I might have to go ahead and buy the digital copies of Crimson gem and Hexyz force, I already have the digital copies can anyone confirm that the saves will transfer?

Like I said in an earlier post, I prefer the portable versions of the Lego games then the console versions. I decided to add the $5. That $4.88 can be saved for a rainy day.

I am continuously bewildered by slidecage's posts. No offense to him, but his posts look like they were put together from newspaper clippings with a broken space bar on top of all that. Not to mention the weird different sized fonts, colors, and bolding.

Oh and apparently he stinks? I don't get it. :???:

Tempted to get the Silent Hill Book of memories. Downloaded the demo and I think it's an OK game. But I have a huge backlog, especially because I plan to play FF 14 for some time. Shall I get it now or shall I wait? I guess the worst case is I buy it at full price which is only $15 when I'm ready to play. Is $15 the retail price for digital version? Physical copy is still priced above $20. I almost bought a pre-owned one from Bestbuy for $25 in their B2G1 sale.

No, Silent Hill's digital price is normally $30.  $15 is the sale price, and $7.50 is the PS+ sale price.

I liked the demo a good amount (though I felt overpowered, I was doing 60 damage and enemies were doing 1) and I don't have a dungeon crawler style game on my Vita, so I think I'll probably buy it this weekend.

I got most of the psp atlus games (the ones under $7.50).  CoH reminds me of the old wizardry games.  Spend an hour hitting O,X O,X until you get a bonus of over 35 with each character during creation.  Make sure each character has max health stat, that seemed to help me.

^I very much enjoy that the abbreviated version of the URL for your book on Amazon ends with "pedo your balls"
Wow, that made me laugh hard.

Wonder if that means the E3 codes will work now too.

Holy crap, someone as old as me! Can I identify item #9?

It's not a long game, if that's an issue. It's maybe 15 hours long spread out over four "games" that makes it a good game to play through each chapter in a sitting.

Yeah, but those 15 hours can be spent on the games I already own. I am trying very hard not to buy any more new games because we continue to get free games through plus and I will be buying GTA5 day 1. Also, since Dragon Fantasy Book 1 came out with a 20% discount on release week I was thinking it may become free at some point.

Crimson gem saga is pretty bad. Too slow. Ygadarra is great. Growl answer is good but very difficult. Playing hexyz force now. Good, but simple.

Oh God the Backoning for $15 seems kind of pricy, granted I have DeathSpank 1 & 2 and haven't beaten either one  :headache: . Has it been any lower than that?

If you haven't played the first 2, there's no reason to buy the 3rd one at full price. It's definitely the worst of the 3, play 1 and 2 before you even consider picking up the Baconing.

If you buy Knight of the Nightmare UMD for PSP does it come with a download for Yggdra that would still work?
yea it should work ..that is how i got mine free a few months back...

about dragon book... im waiting on buying dragon book 1 till dragon book 2 comes out.. Hopefully they have some combo deal

I have 11.02 left in my account thats just been sitting there for months.  How should I divide it?  I'm thinking about these,

Silent Hill Book of Memories

Alice Maddess Returns

Yggdra Union

Kenka Bancho

Hexyz Force

Gungnir

Crimson Gem Saga

Suggestions?

so i'm going to play the Sting Atlus games in order, i think (replaying yggdra).

This starts with Riveria.

Solid game.  Overworld is sort of a visual menu - you can move, or spend 'turn' units to search things.  You earn turn units by doing well in combat.   Combat is really smart - you bring 4 items into battle, you can level up weapons, do special attacks, etc.  It's got a nice flow reminiscent of other games by Sting but it's more of a turn based jrpg.  Item limitation (and limited use) force tactics.   It doesn't have some of the more complex bells and whistles of yggdra but it's definitely fun.

Hotline Miami -- holy hell this game is awesome.  Takes awhile to get into the swing of it, but yea, it's just good.

Tokyo Jungle Mobile = awesome.

and i'm still playing Total Recoil, it's just a fun time waster dual stick shooter.

Very, very happy with this weeks releases/sales.   Still haven't tried Silent Hill, but i'll get to it.

Anyone who thinks vita doesn't have games isn't paying attention, i'm spoiled for choice.

For Alice Madness Returns you get the full original Alice game with it when you download it

Yep, just looks abysmal at retail when you're lucky to see six games.

This is exactly the problem.

It looks like the PSP shelves the past few years.

It's way too early for such a digital focused library. Sony needs to throw some serious support its way and fast. So much potential

Dropping the price of the memory cards would help, I've had a Vita for a year and a half, didn't buy a digi title until this week, had to nab a 32 GB from AWD.

Yeah a platform that is digital friendly having a roadblock like a 100 dollar memory card is not great design. Give people lots of cheap storage space and they'll buy loads of stuff. Just look at Steam.
