You need to die now. :p

Guess I'll just leave and come back later then lol. Just changed my sig settings now. Thanks again Tyler. Should make the pages a lot shorter too.

When i downloaded wipeout from psn it came with an online pass, can anyone confirm recently downloading Soul Sacrifice and receive/not receive an online pass.

I can confirm that you not only have to buy an online pass but they charge you MORE than if you would have bought it when it wasn't on sale. It's their way of making up loss revenue.

I thought online passes were for used games only.
Retail means a physical copy of a game. Regardless of if it's new or used if it needs an online pass it needs an online pass, used games just aren't guaranteed to come with a working one. Some digital games, like Wipeout, will download another authentication file usually because of how the retail copy is set up. Digital games are tied to your account though so there's no actual online pass you can miss out on, just a file tied your account that gives the same permissions or something added to your services list.

That's great, i thought i would have to dish it an extra $10 for co op play.

In Jetpack Joyride, do the jetpack upgrades actually affect anything beyond aesthetics?
based on their descriptions, i think they're just bling. i've yet to buy one though. super fun game, too bad it's ridiculously grindy.

lately i've been jumping between PJM, Jetpack, and Katamari... all three requiring different versions of pick-up-and-play perfection. head going to explode. all three are great though.

Ok ok I get it people. I was wrong geez :p

Guess I'm just being a grumpy old man today. :oldman:
that's ok, i almost thought your post was meta and you actually knew the original was sarcasm... but no, you just need yer coffee.

only reason im considering the ps2 digital verison is the $5 price. Might be nice to play if anything ever happens to my disc or anything. Plus i think the ps3 upscales ps2 games doesn't it? Thats why im asking what the regular price is. Im curious how much of a sale its on. Maybe it would be bettr to just save the money but im curious just how much your saving with the $5 price

So does anyone know what Disgaea normally costs on psn?
It's right in the OP. It's currently 50% off right now, so take the sale price and double it.

They probably mean by today's standards. I haven't tried it myself, but I did see some of @frisky's stream and know exactly what they're getting at. For instance, during a section where he was trying to move Scrooge between a set of ropes, he couldn't simply jump in an arc to do it. The degree of motion seems restricted to an old NES d-pad, lol. Perhaps they shouldn't have characterized it as "unresponsive", but it seems fair to point out.

That said, man...soo many feels while watching that. That music! I had completely forgotten about some of those characters. Mother fuck-ing Lanchpad!!!
As the one that played it, I would say that the controls feel really tight. The issue is that they're just weird controls, which isn't a surprise for an NES game. The notion that this platformer is focused around bouncing on a cane and deliberately not breaking everything for the hell of it because you can use rocks and such to get to hidden/hard to reach places sort of goes against the grain for what you'd typically expect from the average platformer that you see on XBLA and PSN these days, so it's not surprising that it rubs people the wrong way. Rope jump controls are also a thing that seems to change from game to game, as some let you jump between them and others do the drop thing. That's not really that the game is bad because of that, it's just a different style of controls that may or may not be to the player's taste/ability to adapt to them.

The same happened to Double Dragon Neon, so WayForward seems to be more interested in being faithful to the source material than making a more modern game with a classic skin for these remakes.

To whomever was jumping over the checkpoints in Runner 2 and not realizing what they were until they accidentally ran into one I think you have some competition.  I'm on the last level of the third world and just accidentally fell into one of the retro challenges after spending the whole game so far thinking they would kill me and wondering how you unlocked these things.

Re: Jetpack Joyride.

So i've completed the challenges twice.  Still have a million years of grinding coins ahead of me.

what i can say regarding what to buy:

1) you want to make a beeline  for Gemology and Coin Magnet.   These are the only two gadgets you should use, except in very specific challenges.  since you need to buy stuff to unlock these, always buy the cheapest you can.

2) Use Nerd Repellant for no kill missions.

3) You'll likely need to eventually buy a cheap jetpack to do a 'no machine gun' mission.

after you get the Gemology and Coin Magnet, spend your money making your vehicles into magnets.  and then buy towards your trophy, perhaps getting stuff to make your no-coin runs a little faster.

some of the other gadgets might be useful once you have everything unlocked and only care about high scores... but... by the time you have everything unlocked, you're probably ready to kick the developer in the face for requiring so much grinding.

great game tho.

Also, if you get in a vehicle, wait about three groups of coin clusters and then intentionally crash your vehicle. Coins seem to spawn faster that way.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/08/14/ps-mobile-update-rymdkapsel-gets-a-price-drop/

For PS Mobile, Rymdkapsel has gotten a permanent price drop to $3.99 for those that are interested in that game.
Very enjoyable game. Bought it at 4.99 when it came out. Took a few tries to get the hang of it and figure out what I was supposed to do, but once I got past the learning curve, I couldn't put it down. I was addicted, and thinking that this was going to be a game that would be hard to not pick up and play from time to time. But once I finished the 4 challenges, I really found that I couldn't muster the enthusiasm to play it any more. I'd say I got about 10 hours out of it total.

I would love to see them put out a sequel with many more challenges, and iron out a few of the issues that it has. The issues are not game breaking, just frustrating. It could be fixed with a sequel I'm sure.

So I'm not really having too much of a problem with Ducktales on Normal. I wonder what Hard and Extreme entail, I'm interested to find out.

I heard hard and up gets rid of the map. Less lives is the only other thing I can imagine since I don't think they'd take more than one heart away per enemy hit. Unless of course Extreme is one-hit kills.

I'm really digging Runner2 right now and as someone stated earlier its really cool how the sound effects compliment the music. My only gripe would be that completing a level with a Perfect+ on hard doesn't give you credit for the normal or easy difficulties, but the levels are so short that its not a big deal.

Can anyone who brought Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus during the sale confirm if it still comes with that costume pack DLC that was bundled at launch?

I noticed you can't buy them off the store, if they aren't included I might as well just wait for a physical copy

A valid point. In cases like that I start on the lowest difficulty and 100% it before moving onto the next.
I completed World 1 yesterday. Very fun game. I wanted to support the dev so I bought the character pack but haven't tried it yet.

@tyler Besides less health and continues and more damage taken you also have the hard pogo where you have to press down to use it. I think that's what I read about the higher DuckTales difficulties.

I haven't played it myself but I know I've read multiple places that Sigma 2 has some serious framerates issues on the Vita. Don't know if that's something they've fixed over time but probably worth looking into.

I liked Ninja Gaiden 2 well enough to play through it on the 360 when it came out but not sure I'd want to go back now a second time. Although I guess Sigma 2 cleaned up some of the issues with 2 (which seemed a little overblown anyway at the time). I went through Sigma and still have the cart on Vita. I actually thought about grabbing PS3 versions of Sigma and Sigma 2 to keep in my tiny collection but I have Black currently...not sure there would be a reason as Sigma seemed easier overall. Although I might ditch the 360 at some point once I finish up what I have left to play. I think the PS3 will stay longer than my 360 as I seem to be playing it more.

Ah, worse than Sigma Plus? I already have Sigma 2 on PS3, maybe I'll just pass. I was just curious if the PSN version still had the dlc (I remember it got pulled from the store for a while, and theres no mention of it now)

Tried the Katamari demo and I don't think this version is going to capture me any more than the PS2 version. I think this is a game I'd play once for an hour and then never touch again. It's appealingly odd to an extent, but as far as being a game I just don't know about it. Especially because it is timed. I think I'll pass and save my money.

Katamari is definately something for those OCD type of people.  I liked it for an hour or two and then didnt need or want to play it ever again.  Cool to experience for a little time, then just boring.  And yeah timers can be annoying too.
