Vita PS+ sale prices have been live for an hour for me. Click on the "Instant game collection" tab at the top of the Vita store to see them.

If I shared even 20% of the conversations my cousin has had with me over the last few months in regards to gaming it would make you all weep and laugh simulatnious. I have shared a number of conversation snipets with a friend of mine and he can't help but facepalm frequently. Just today this is just a taste of things he said to me.

1. PS+ is required for all online play on PS4, When I told him it wasn't, he repeated himself. When I showed him proof he then stated than XBL is better than PSN (I honestly have zero issues with PSN I just wish it had cross-game chat) and that you get what you pay for, To me that is total nonsense and true fanboyism in terms of defending MS.

2. He was telling me how I do not give games a chance because I was enjoying Tales of Xillia but not playing The Last of Us, even though I got both games when they came out. Keep in mind I own over 2,000 games and enjoy games from pretty much all genres and developers and do not care what platform a game is on. A good game is a good game is a good game, simple as that. He has around 50 or so PS3/360 (DD titles included) in his collection and has played maybe 200 games in total and he somehow thinks I am the "narrow minded" gamer out of the two of us, lol

Again those are small tastes as to what I experience on a near daily basis with him, It does cause a lot of aggravation on my end to say the least.

Speaking of which, why are the PS+ prices still not live???

i'm probably buying two ps4 games at release (killzone and battlefield) and upgrading to the full drive club... and that's it till NFS:Rivals comes out and stuff starts to go on sale. So much free goodness will definitely help after the hurt the console puts on my budget.

I know you guys have already discussed it all, but this list makes me so excited that I own a Vita.  So many awesome indie games, Rogue Legacy being the single most anticipated one for me, but so much greatness.

I was a little bit disappointed that there wasn't a AAA title announced for the Vita, but this is still awesome!

 
Anyone else have to press fairly hard on their Vita Triggers to get them to work in game?  

When I look down the sight it will go back to normal view unless I press with a decent amount of pressure. (in KZ)

I think I have the same thing. It's not that you have the press really hard but that the switch deactivates really easy if you're not pressing at just the right angle. It's not like a PS3 or 360 controller when it's super forgiving. Makes using the triggers for racing games impossible.

PS+ is only required for multiplayer for games you pay for. Nothing else. No free to play games like warframe/planetside require ps+. Additionally, apps and online services like twitch/ustream/skype/netflix are NOT behind the ps+ paywall and are available to everyone.

lol, well, i'll be there for stuff like Killzone, Destiny, Watch Dogs, NFS: Rivals, etc...

but i can't deny I am looking forward to the 'indies' just as much. I love dual stick shooters and rogue-like/lites and schmups, and those tend to be where indies shine. Not to mention, I don't like gaming on my laptop, but i love gaming on a console or my vita.

I mean, sure, I played FTL on my laptop... but i'd rather have played it on a vita, and i'd double dip in a second.

While i don't know exactly what that link states, i can say that not all online gaming will require PS+.

For example, all of the awesome looking F2play games coming (mentioned previously, but stuff like Planetside 2, War Thunder, Warframe, etc) do not require ps+ on ps4. As much as i dislike f2p games on IOS, it seems like the PC has gotten some really great offerings that are truly 'free to play' and not 'pay to win'. I know a lot of those games have a dedicated pc fanbase, so i can't wait to check them out. i have ps+ anyway, but still, it's good to know they're free.

Also, it's believed (and i think confirmed) that games that have 'online features' will not necessarily be behind ps+ either. For example, leaderboards and autolog and stuff like that will be free to all.

It's only actual multiplayer (like BF4, KZ, etc) that will be behind the paywall.

The completely unanswered grey area will be 'mildly online' games like, say, a Demon's Souls... for something like that, I'm guessing stuff like signs on the floor won't be, but it's up in the air whether summoning would be considered 'multiplayer' or not. I'd like to hope a game like that wouldn't require ps+, and i think it could easily go either way.

? I've put tens of hours into wipeout, asphalt, and nfs:mw on the vita and have never had a problem with the triggers. i mean, don't get me wrong, i'd much prefer a dual shock styled vita... but the triggers are fine.

QUESTIONS --

1) i've heard the KZ vita beta is free to all ps+ members, but i simply can't find it in the store. Any help? I didn't get an email. Desperate to play.

2) I was planning on getting New Little Kings Story and Dynasty Warriors on vita today (and still am) but the second sale face kicked me. I now have Far Cry Blood Dragon and Guacamelee staring me in the face at around $7.50 each.

Any advice? Should i just pull the trigger on all 4 and admit i have no will power in the face of sales?

Yup I had the exact same issue. I think Eldritch mentioned it, but for me it's not necessarily about pressing hard, but I kind of just barely lean my finger on the L-button on the side, like I do with a PS3 or 360 controller. I guess the L-button on the Vita is not as sensitive as those controllers, because I would loose my aiming zoom once in a while and have to re-adjust my finger on the L-button.

I think that's what it is. Ill try the other vita and see when I'm home from work. Havent played with it yet since it didn't have a screen protector lol. I'm a little over protective of my equipment.
 
It seems like if you just push on either end it's more likely to "slip" because there's three different ways the trigger actually depresses but the switch seems to be in the middle.

1. Do you have your vita on you? Just enter the ps store and click the top banner that says Instant Game Collection. It is right there in the list available to download now.

Guacamelee is the highlight of this week for me.

 
I don't know if this also works for the NA PS Store, but it's mentioned on the Gamescom press conference that pre-ordering GTAV on the PS Store will get you 75% off any Rockstar game on PSN.

 
yeah holy cow. i went and got soul sacrifice at noon today cuz i thought not worth hoping for ps+ free or $10 sale, and then all these other deals/sales. so crazy...

I vote for Tales from Space. I'm probably buying both but want to see that version in action. Also Mutant Blobs is great and that looks very similar and I think a lot of people are going to overlook them. Too bad the co-op on About a Blob is local only but still probably going to get the one with the co-op and costume DLC for 50 cents more.

You want DOA5, especially if you're sure that you're not getting DOA 5 Ultimate. It looks amazing on Vita, adds new content not in the console versions, and the online is good. UMvC3 is a straight port with nothing added except touch screen controls that allow you to auto-combo. I can't speak for its netcode.

Hmm... ok, thanks! it took quitting out of the store and rebooting the app for it to show up. All the other sales prices were in effect, so i didn't realize the store simply wasn't done updating, or that leaving a category and coming back didn't fully refresh the list.

vita has successfully hooked directly into my wallet. i used to be SO good about not getting stuff, especially digital.

guac, blood dragon, nlks, and dynasty warriors will be mine, i guess.

Update post is up on the blog.

And we do get both versions of Star Wars pinball (the standalone and the ZP2 DLC) for both the PS3 and the Vita.  That's pretty sweet at least, lots of trophies, even if some of them are pretty hard.

EDIT: And the standalone version won't install on my Vita for some unknown reason.  Time to check out the rest of the versions to see if they actually work.
