Clearly exageration here as Jak 2 is VERY frustrating but it is far from a bad game. I do remember I stopped playing it on PS2 because of the driving controls but I was able to power through the HD version. Not sure if Vita version is a problem though.
Must be a generational difference between older gamers and newer gamers. I loved Jak II, beat it probably 3 or 4 times including a 100% on it. Didn't really find it frustrating, it was hard but not too hard imo.

Entering PS Plus this month:Eu

  • 28th August: Assassin’s Creed 3
  • 28th August: The Jak and Daxter Trilogy
  • 28th August: Stealth Inc: A Clone In The Dark
  • 28th August: Urban Trial Freestyle
  • 28th August: New Little King’s

Geeze, that is a killer line-up. He is to hoping we get something similar, or at least a catch up on the stuff they've got but we haven't.

Just because you highlighted it in fluorescent green I'm going to do exactly that right now.
I think we should refer to random color changes or lack of punctuation as slidecagin' and then we'll have to find an appropriate variation of it to call "slidecagin' it free style".

I still wonder if it's a piracy issue. By that I mean, in Europe, piracy is more prevalent, so the publishers are more willing to get some money via PS+ freebies vs. no money via piracy. In the US, since piracy is not as prevalent, they aren't willing to make the same deals.

So while EU PS+ team might get the same (or less) money than NA PS+ does, they can get more bang for their buck so to speak.
Where did you hear that piracy is more prevalent in Europe? If you were talking about just Eastern Europe, I'd believe it but PC gaming is more popular there than here so it seems contradictory to your statement.

Well, I have no idea, but it seems a lot of the PC cracks and keygens come from Europe, and Russia.

so now that New Little King's Story got added to EU ps+, I'm going to pass on it and hope it gets added to the north american igc at some point.
It better not be - I just bought it from the sale. It was also one of the listed games from that Russian leak. Does anyone remember the other games listed for that month?

Maybe, but it just seems that guy doesnt like the game. Although he did mention the double jump in Jak 1 being broken, so you may right about the generational gap as the double jump in Jak 1 is just about timing and not broken at all. He did have valid complaints about drive across the city though and the horrible vehicle controls. It took a while but I finally got used to them enough to plat it.

DmC.

Also, there was another Russian leak today saying that Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and SFxT (Vita) are coming in October to EU PS+.

Well that has to do with a lot laxer laws, especially on servers and being able to host and distribute such things. That and a lot of the places that the software leaks out of to the crackers are these borderline third world countries.

Well that means no DD for us but get ready for SFxT if we haven't had it yet! I seriously think Sony's just trying to keep the streak of fighting games going because everyone complains about it. Why else would we have gotten a fighting game as basically a freebie this month?

Are you pulling my leg? Where do all these Russian leaks come from? I think the last was accurate for the first month but incorrect for the second. Dark Arisen is too recent to be a PS+ candidate - the original version is more likely if anything. SFxT I'd believe because that game took a pounding from everyone.

I would recommend DOA5+, great game for that price.

Agreed, but Ultimate is coming out on PS3/360 in a couple weeks.
Yes but Ultimate+ (if they are going to make it) won't be out for another 6 months. So if I want DOA on the go, my only choices are DOA5+ or Dimensions on the 3DS? For $10, it's cheaper than the 3DS game and overall a better one too. After DOA2U, and 4, I just can't get back to the 3 tier counter system.

I would recommend buying at $10. Even if all 360/PS3 DOA5 players migrate to Ultimate (highly unlikely), you'll still have all Vita DOA5+ players to play with as they can't go to the next version anytime soon.

The original leak nailed both June and July exactly. They only got 2 of the 4 August games right, but then Little King's Story in September. Here's the image if you want to check for yourself.

As for the new leak, I am not pulling your leg.

http://ps3.noizless.ru/vremya-obnovlenij-v-playstation-plus/

Translate it using Chrome, or just scroll near the bottom and you'll see the games names and dates. It also lists Giana Sisters as coming in October, but I didn't mention it since it's not a very popular game.

So I bought Divekick yesterday and I really haven't had any luck finding any ranked matches on Vita.

Anyone else having the same problem? I probably searched for 45 minutes total and so far I had only one match.

I don't understand why people think it's the PS Plus "team" that is to blame. They seem to break their neck to reach out for feedback from us, in PS Blog comments, on the PS forums, and even in the surveys that they create every week. They seem to be understanding what the majority want (games simliar to EUs) but the haven't really delivered those. That screams to me that resources are the issue, not the team. I'd love to know how much money SCEA gives the PS Plus team to bring in free games and how much SCEE gives to the PS Plus team over there.

I really feel like there's a discrepancy there, and that is causing the discrepancy between the EU and US games. I don't think "firing the US PS+ team" solves anything.
i think there is a lot that goes into it.

i mean, they've got ps+ subscription fees as income, and then some percentage of that can go towards acquiring games. from what i've gathered based on interviews and such, each publisher/developer works out their own terms. So that means each region can only go after so much, but is ultimately at the mercy of publishers as to what can be offered.

And publishers would certainly want to treat different markets differently. Let's say they know that Stealth Inc. sales in the US are still strong, but sales in the EU have stagnated. Taking a lump sum to put it on EU would make sense in that case. Or perhaps they want to generate buzz on the internet, or to 'test out' the ps+ concept by putting their toes in the water.

Point is, even if Sony US and Sony EU offered a publisher $x.xx per gamer (or a lump sum representing that) for game X, the publisher might only be interested in accepting the offer of one or the other region. Add in each region having a different audience to cater to (keeping it simple, US doesn't want a cricket game and EU doesn't want Madden)... and it's pretty much a given disaparity will exist.

Anyway, i'm not disagreeing with you at all. I don't think it's Sony US at all... i think it's far more likely the whims of publishers are far more at play than Sony not listening to the fanbase.

wonder what snowden what up to over in russia. Instead of leaking government stuff they are now leaking sony stuff :)

was in gamestop the other day and was talking about the psn+ side on the vita and was saying how there has to be a USA cart based release in sept since we had no cart based vita games since ZERO back in June. worker said they heard there will not be any cart based releases until OCT/NOV when they do the major 3 flip outs .

If that is true hopefully and no CART based games hopefully they wont be more fighting games like now

You're joke wasn't too bad.

An employee at Gamestop would have no better knowledge of what PS+ is going to release next then most the guys in this thread. That being said, there better be a "cart based release" this month or at least a good full sized game that's not a fighter.

GameStop employees have got to be the most reliable source of information on anything ever!

Yeah same here. People have been messaging them on twitter so hopefully it'll be fixed.

is anyone able to connect in KZ Merc right now on vita?   and if you can, and i can't... anyone have a good link to vita network troubleshooting?  i rarely game online with my vita, so quite possible i have something set wrong.

EDIT: NM, bitching online solved it.

Perhaps he winked and went "shhh" with it to make it legit.

Didn't you know? Bitching online solves everything haha.

People still play Rock Band?
I would if I could find the games and a decent PS3 guitar or two for like $20.

Well we already established that Sony is trying to keep their fighting game streak going. Also I expected whatever this story was to end with a soggy Gamestop.

That GameStop is now closed for remodeling as they had to replace all the carpet after Slidecage left. Sony has employees working in shifts to follow him around at all times and piss on him and his vita. Probably why he usually isn't in a good mood...hell I wouldn't be either.

I am beginning to like US PS+ more and more.

Sure we don't get all the "killer line-up" that EU PS+ gets but it makes up for it in terms of fabulous sales and discounts.

yes, we keep getting PSP fighters but other than that, I think US PS+ gives a variety of games that compliments your own personal tastes. There are games I would not have bought/tried until they were added to IGC

and I'm pretty sure EU peeps who bought Stealth Inc are gonna be annoyed that they got no PS+ discount and are getting the game free in the following month or so :/

I really need a larger Memory Card. That price on MGS HD is amazing.

What is everyone's thought on Guacamelee and MGS HD?
I'm loving Guacamelee. Everything that upset me about Dragon's Crown with what felt like clunky combat this makes up for in fluid fun combat. I also like the metroidvania style platforming so that's a double win to me. Plus the art and music are just the bee's knees.

Is it cross play?

So can I buy it for PS3 and play on meh vita?
I've been meaning to ask if it was cross save/trophies/whatever else Sony has attached cross to or just cross buy.

I know its cross buy. But the trophies dont double up. One list for both games.

I too am loving this game. Was wanting to get this two weeks ago. Waiting paid off finally. I also like all the game references.

Yeah, I got a Vita like a week after the launch sale ended if I remember right and been waiting for it to go on sale since.

Started Totori tonight, got a trophy. I mean I literally started a new game and got a trophy which is a tad silly. Enjoying it for what I played so far. I can entirely understand the complaints about the writing and voice acting though. Started out as standard middling game/anime stuff and then a few minutes in it takes this sharp and clear turn. Unfortunately I do play RPGs for the experience and the story's part of that so hopefully it doesn't have too many more of those moments where it's cringe worthy.

How long are those PS Vita digital sales going on til?

Thinking about picking up DOA5+ and Muramasa.
They also announce in the weekly blog post what featured things are leaving the next update.

Hmm. Sounds like I might have made the right call in not picking Totori up after all.
