Hmm. Sounds like I might have made the right call in not picking Totori up after all.
I'm having fun so far and most of the time it's passable enough that it's not that distracting, there's just these moments where it becomes a whole different level of bad before going back to underwhelming. I don't regret it because I'm liking it otherwise.

I really wanna pick up Ragnarok Odyssey, despite Ace supposedly coming out soon. Maybe if the two have separate trophy lists I can justify buying it. $15 for RO-themed nostalgia would probably be worth it by itself anyway. Getting Muramasa and DOA5 for sure though.

Really disappointing how the PS4 upgrade program for upcoming PS3 releases is going to work.  Unlike how MS is partnering with GS and Amazon to run a trade promo it's a digital copy through PSN.  Dislike on a number of levels since the publisher can set whatever price they want, you have to have the PS3 game disc still which unlocks the cheaper digital file.

While it will probably keep the value of the PS3 versions up somewhat the upgrade price is probably going to be higher and you don't even have the PS4 disc to trade in or sell.  Sadly MS looks like they're going to have the upper hand on this one.

I don't think I'd bother with this, anyway. What's the point of buying a game twice? MAYBE for something like GTAV since a next-gen port remains unannounced, but for Battlefield and COD? lolnooope. I'm more interested in getting a discount on older stuff (especially PSN titles), but that probably ain't happening.

I actually like this. That is because I get to keep my PS3 copy too, unlike what MS is doing where I have to trade in my 360 copy. This way I can do what I want with my ps3 copy; trade it in at gamestop for extra credit(new games get good credit and some times double if you have those 50% coupons) or give to a friend or just sell it to someone else.

I think this is a much better program than MS's as you are practically getting two games for a much cheaper price and you have the control over what you want to do with your older copy.

You can only 'trade up' on one title through Amazon via MS's program.   Gamestop seems to be 'once per game'.

However, due to the strict limitation on what games, it looks very much like the publishers are 'in' on this promotion, in which case i suspect the final $$$ of the PS4 trade up to be similiar in the long run assuming you trade/sell your ps3 copy.

If anyone was interested and didn't have a Plus subscription, here is a code for Killzone Mercenaries Beta: QQCN-3DNB-49FF

Just post if you use it or if its already used, that way people know.

Started Totori tonight, got a trophy. I mean I literally started a new game and got a trophy which is a tad silly. Enjoying it for what I played so far. I can entirely understand the complaints about the writing and voice acting though. Started out as standard middling game/anime stuff and then a few minutes in it takes this sharp and clear turn. Unfortunately I do play RPGs for the experience and the story's part of that so hopefully it doesn't have too many more of those moments where it's cringe worthy.

Keep us posted on your adventures in Totori. One of the things that helped me pass on the game was when I was watching gameplay footage on YouTube, one of the girl characters was like, "Oh, I'm not a molester, I just like giving massages." This went on for like six lines - there seems to be a lot of innuendo in the game. Also, there was a very motherly NPC named Tiffani. "Tiffani" with an "i" is a stripper's name.

I hope they can do this promotion to Final Fantasy XIV. I don't know what's the purpose for watchdog. It will be launched later than PS4. So why not just buy the PS4 version? OK maybe they know they can't supply all launch day demand.

It's pretty rare for a game to sell out. Stamping a disc is pretty cheap. The point is that many people will wait until after launch to get a next gen console due to finances, new console availability, waiting for Christmas, etc., but they won't want to wait until then to play a game like Watchdogs. My only question is that if you get the game for current gen and play it and enjoy it, why would you upgrade? The only logical reason is if you plan to keep playing multiplayer on next gen or if you like it so much that you want to replay it again on next gen.

I would if I could find the games and a decent PS3 guitar or two for like $20.

Well we already established that Sony is trying to keep their fighting game streak going. Also I expected whatever this story was to end with a soggy Gamestop.
I just picked up a PS2, one controller, one microphone, two guitars and Rockstar for $20 at a garage sale. Unfortunately there was only one dongle and a replacement seems to cost as much as a new guitar!

I've had fun with the game though and I can't believe how small the PS2 is compared to my PS3. Very portable if you need that sort of thing.

I had the PS2 version for a while, and honestly it's a pretty gimped version (read: Wii version). Not to rain on your parade or anything, but if you want to do rockband right you ought to shell out for the PS3 version (I believe the guitars are back/forwardcompatible anyway). Having all your songs+tons of DLC all in one place makes it way more convenient and fun, and definitely worth the small price to upgrade (since you have the instruments already) :D

Thanks for the suggestion. I had never played the game so couldn't compare and decided to make an impulse buy rather than think too much about it. For $20 I figured I could pass the system on to someone else who didn't care too much about the latest and greatest and not be out for too much money.

I did find the whole guitar/game compatibility thing a little confusing and wasn't sure what hardware/games the guitar (Rockband Harmonix model 822151) could be used with although I didn't spend much time on research either.

I have 12.08 on my PSN account and a new Vita.  I bought Guacamelee and Muramasa Rebirth.  I'm contemplating getting New Little Kings Story.  Anybody have any suggestions on some games to use that credit on? Is LKS worth getting? Any good 16-bit style RPGs?  Also I have never really followed any Vita games.

Dragon Book sounds like something you'd be interested in. Check it out, second one comes out in a couple weeks.

Here's Dragon Fantasy Book 1, a 16-bit style RPG that's gotten good feedback.

Get dragon fantasy book 1. Book 2 comes out in a few weeks and the first was awesome, the second looks even better.
Edit: damn two peeps already said that, also no demo. Its pretty straight forward.

if it's USB it should work on the PS3. One way to check is plug it in and try to navigate the XMB :)

are there any deals for psn cards?

Best Buy online. I think it's still going on. If you are a gamer reward zone member you get a discount when you add it to your cart.

I don't believe so unless you are talking about PS+ prices (which you probably have to be logged in to see), but wouldn't it just be easier to log in and see for yourself? You'll have to log in to buy them anyway :whistle2:k

You could have logged in by now and tested to see if it was 50% off when you're logged in now. Don't make other people do your legwork, we do enough around here...like repeating old jokes and making fun of slidecage's spacing issues.

see me being lazy helped out others lol

on that note ill prob just pay full price for it w d2 comin out

I will continue to make fun of it until he comes to his senses and types like a intelligent human being...which will never happen so get yourself ready for the long haul my friend. ;)

First, way to go and break the system. Second, you don't want to know what Frisky's going to do to you when you awake tonight with him standing over your bed.
