Any thoughts on the Tokyo Jungle DLC pack? Is it really complete? Does it ever go on sale? Is it worth it?
I may be wrong but I could of sworn the DLC is just special cool animals or characters. Nothing that affects the core game. Very fun and different game. I will admit I bought a few animals :D

I'm not too familiar with Skullgirls. There was that whole re-launch of the game on pc with the beta codes and the new version has more characters, levels, and even story modes right? So if I buy it from psn today, which version are we getting. And what are we missing out on that the new Steam version has or will have?

Hadn't even heard of tokyo jungle prior to this sale, and I thought I followed psn releases closely. Concept sounds interesting.

Also, everyone who passed on Machinarium, that's a shame. I found the puzzles fair, the music sharp and the story surprisingly great. It stands alongside any of the Sierra/LucasArts titles.

Those free accessories add small perks like increased hunger/water times. So those of you getting it should download the couple of free things.
The stuff you saw in the PC beta will be coming to PS3 for free eventually along with four more free characters over the coming months.

It's not a relaunch, it's that they ported the game to PC and created new characters because they had to have a Kickstarter campaign to get the money to do so. That stuff is supposed to be coming to 360 and PS3 at some point but unless something changed in the last few months were supposed to be paid DLC.

Thanks to the generosity of our Indiegogo backers, the Squigly Character DLC is FREE until November 22nd!

OK, I found it. Do we get all this for free too if we buy Skullgirls from psn?

http://store.steampowered.com/app/245170/

If you install her before that date, you'll never have to pay for her!

In the coming year, we will also release the following DLC characters, all of which will be free for a limited time:

    Big Band
    Eliza
    Beowulf
    Robo-Fortune

Buying now ensures that you get all five of these amazing DLC characters free!

Played a lot of Spelunky on 360. Tried the Vita demo and controls are spot on, so I decided to buy again. Guess it felt like I hadn't been brutally raped by a game in a while ^^;

But if you bought or buy it on steam you get all the characters free, even the unreleased ones (see below). So if we buy it on psn do we get them for free as they are released too or is that an exclusive deal with Steam?

I got this from the Steam product description:

Each character will be free for about 1-3 months (i forget what exactly it is, it said so somewhere) after which those who missed it can grab them for $5 each.

I third this.

So anyone think Limbo on Vita will be great? Held off on it from XBL for a long time. Seems like it would be more enjoyable on the vita. Im tempted.
I downloaded Limbo onto my Vita the week it was released for it (retroactive Cross-Buy FTW!) and loved playing through it again on the Vita. I think it's one of the best games of this generation, so it can't be beat at this week's sale price.

Why people wait till the last day of a sale is beyond me. I generally buy my games the first day unless I'm undecided on them.
I wait until the next week's deals are announced. I have a backlog and generally don't get to sale purchases for a few weeks, so if the next week of deals and/or plus announcements includes stuff that would be further up the queue, I wait. I put off a couple things when the Guacamelee! sale was announced, for example.

I've come pretty close to missing deals in the past, but I've always had an hour or two to spare. It would be nice if Sony would set and stick to a consistent update time.

So buy it on Monday night like I do. No excuses.

Yeah, that was my mistake. The store update wasn't up at that point and I was guessing based on its proximity to the NFS games, which I was pretty sure were PPDs.
Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up.

The game could definitely use a permanent price drop, so assuming it was one didn't seem all that far fetched to me.

I hear you, I went from a plan of just buying what I was about to play for PS3 a couple months ago to having a triple digit backlog.
I know what you mean. I have this many too.

Can anybody recommend Zombie Tycoon 2? I'm trying to decide between that and Limbo. I've got a $10 PSN card on the way but I'm down to $7.75 in the account right now.

In case you missed my post yesterday with plenty of videos for many of the games on sale this week, there's a link to them for the late people. Looking at what I can stream for tonight's show, I'll definitely do Spelunky, but I'll put the last two slots up for voting:

Closure - There's a video in the link above

Dragon Fantasy Book I - There's a video in the link above

Dyad

Journey

Machinarium - PS3 version - This could be a good segment to poke fun at tylerh

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rainslick Precipice of Darkness Episode 1 & 2

Pinballistik
Retro City Rampage - There's a video in the link above
Retro/Grade
Tokyo Jungle - There's a video in the link above
Zombie Tycoon II: Brainhov's Revenge - There's a video in the link above

EDF is only a sale, darn. Now I have to waffle all week on whether or not to pick it up. I think this is the lowest it's been so far. Last time it was $30, no? This is why I wish Frisky (or anyone else for that matter) would keep a convenient list of past PSN sales. At this point it would be a heck of an undertaking, but if it was kept going I'd imagine a lot of folks would find it very useful.

I was for sure going to get Tokyo Jungle, but then I remembered it's on a compilation disc I don't have yet. Might hold off on it and pick up the disc when it hits sub $10. Probably will do the same with Journey and get the disc when I can find it sub $10.

Sure, but it's still not out today. Their twitter stopped talking about the NA release at some point and only mentions the EU release, so I imagine that it got pushed for some reason. SCEE probably paid for timed exclusivity again.
Timed exclusivity, as in the EU region pays to get it before the NA region? Does that happen?

The PS Blog does a fairly adequate job of this. Their search bar works pretty well, so you just type in whatever you're looking for, in this case "Earth Defense Force 2017", and you'll get 13 results. The only ones you need to look for are the Playstation Store Update posts, so you can easily scan over the rest. So there are 3 of those, you open all of them, Ctrl+F for something like "Earth" to see where on the page it's mentioned.

Is that as easy as xbldb? No. But it took only about a minute to find that EDF was $29.99 for the week of March 5, 2013.

The easy way would be to do a search in the main PSN Weekly Release thread that has somewhere around seven years' worth of sales/release posts to see how things have evolved. It's what I do when people here ask about that stuff. CAG 3.0 even makes it better because it shows the entire post so you don't need to open up a bunch of tabs to see where that instance of the game's title is a sale or something else.

Here are your sales results:

I've toyed with trying to build a spreadsheet/database with all of that information, but that's a shitload of data to keep track of and I haven't figured out the right format to do it in so that it is easy to work with and easy to read.

I'm not sure if people know entirely what they're asking for because it's either an extremely long list of links that provides no useful help up front or it's an extremely long list of sales from the past seven years of posts. Unless I'm completely missing the simple solution, of course.

Um yeah. Blood Dragon was cheaper last week.

Blood Dragon sale just ended earlier today (was $7.34) and I wouldn't be surprised to see Gunslinger on sale sometime soon. Unless you want to play them right away, you're probably better off just waiting for them go on sale.

Is that as easy as xbldb? No. But it took only about a minute to find that EDF was $29.99 for the week of March 5, 2013.
I was joking since EU has gotten a number of Vita games weeks before they've come out in NA for some unknown reason.

For whatever reason, the PS.Blog's search has been absolute dogshit lately and even Sid Shuman has acknowledged that on the Blogcast. I've searched for common terms that I know for a fact have been the subject of blog posts at least once and returned zero results, so I have to Google it to find the blog posts.

Oh I'm well aware of the thickness of the work. I figured it was so much work at this point it wouldn't be worth going back and collecting that info. Good to tip about searching the PS Blog. I've tried it once or twice in the past but it seemed like I got a lot of garbage to sift through still.

PS Store updated. I'm definitely getting Dyad for this price. Anyone think the Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon/Call of Juarez: Gunslinger bundle is worth it? I've been meaning to get both games but only once a sale popped up. Is there a possibility of them getting even cheaper?
I'm not trying to single you out for this or be a jerk about it, but I'm surprised how many times I see this asked every week about anything that's on sale. There's always a chance that any of these games will get cheaper and depending on whose game it is, that chance is close to 100% a lot of the time.

The thread search would probably be a bit easier unless you have to search for a generic term that'll appear a million times in that old thread since you see the entire posts up front, so just use ctrl+f to quickly move through the search results to find the info you want.

Well, I just added Tokyo Jungle to my backlog. Good thing my backlog is less than 20 games.
That's like adding Tetris to your backlog. Just give it a little love tonight...it's not too needy.

I know people rail against Zen's physics, but there's a reason it remains my favorite. The others just don't have the same amount of polish. Just played a little bit of pinballistic since it went free today, and it's terrible. Feels like I'm playing on an Amiga. Pinball Arcade is hardly better. I Zen.
