There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Maybe MS' next step is to not charge for online gaming on the xbox either? It actually may not be a bad idea for them considering PS4 is winning this round of the console war and PS Plus is clearly better than XBL. It could help MS swing things back into their favor.
Well that's incorrect as PSN clearly is not a better service than XBL. They've both had their problems but overall XBL has been wayyyy more stable than PSN for me.

Now is PS+ better than GWG? So far it has been, mainly due to Sony getting aggressive with their releases last year. This last year it has been...okay. Definitely get your money worth but I liked it better when it wasn't an indie fest. Not that I'm hating on indies you hipsters, but they're starting to saturate the market.

Greatness still waits. I've so far only played Shadowfall, Resogun, and TLOU. That is paltry as fuck. I didn't buy a PS4 for it to collect dust. Where are all the goddamn AAA blockbuster exclusives Sony is known for? Microsoft is pissing on their faces in the console exclusives department and it hasn't even been close.

I'm sure Bloodborne is a heavily wanted exclusive and it comes out this month. So is Uncharted though I need to catch up on those. There isn't a lot yet....but I'm sure by the time E3 comes around we'll get some good announcements. There seem to be very few console exclusives so far this generation for both the Xbone and PS4, but it's still early in both systems' lives. Patience....we have too many games coming out regardless of exclusivity anyway.

Remember when the 3DS came out and everyone was laughing about how the game selection was horrible. Same with the Wii U. Remember when the last generation consoles released and it sucked at first? History has shown that it takes time and you shouldn't be expecting something different.

The amount of offerrings from Sony makes X1's offerrings look pathetic.

I used to be upset about games on psn constantly going on sale after just buying it. But they offer so many damn games that there's at least one or two that I end up loving. X1 gives you one chance.

What both need to do, especially X1, is offer multiple choices and let us choose which one to download. It would still limit to one game but would almost guarantee us something applicable to us. Because X1's offerrings are not justifying the $60/year gold.

I make my money back on PSN; not on XBL. But I still think we deserve options and not whatever these guys spoonfeed us.
For what it's worth, MS says they're giving out 6 games for free in April so, don't know what they're up to.

I am hoping an Uncharted Collection PS4 is announced at E3. I want to replay them all, but since they're all plat'd will wait for remasters and new trophies.
I never even thought about that. Yea I have to wait now to see if they do decide to do that. Would be so damn sweet to play a remastered UC1. =P~ just thinking about it. That would be a day one buy for sure.

I'm hoping Bloodborne lives up to the hype because after that I don't know of any PS4 games on the horizon for me except uncharted.

The 3DS was paltry at first but it did finally pickup after the price drop and a couple of first parties came out. The Wii U has amazing first party consoles but it still isn't exactly considered a success at this point.

And what are you talking about last gen had slow starts? The Wii had a Zelda game at launch and Mario Galaxy a little over a year in, not to mention a slew of fun games and it was cheap.

The 360 in its first year had dead rising, gears of war, oblivion, kameo, PDZ, call of duty 2, and a ton of third party games. Not to mention, halo 3 was out a year and a half in wasn't it? The PS3 had a ridiculously slow start, really it didn't hit its true stride until after the "APOCALYPS3" and the massive breach. They turned it around with quality exclusives and PS+ brought recently new AAA titles to the service.

Keep in mind that my response above was to "AAA Console Exclusives". There is only one Xbox 360 game that you listed that was a console exclusive and was a AAA title (GoW). In regards to the Wii, I never really owned one, so you could be right about that console.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/03/11/lost-dimension-coming-to-ps3-ps-vita-this-summer/

Atlus is publishing a new game for PS3/Vita this summer called Lost Dimension:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEgwR4hUVNg

Well, let me paint a nightmare scenario for you: your pool of warriors that are leveling up and gaining experience have a few traitors in their midst. And as you inch closer and closer towards the final boss, you’re forced to kill one of your teammates — hoping against all hope that you figured out enough clues along the way to be able to correctly identify which one of them is actually a traitor. And after you repeatedly undergo this pattern of trial of accusations and executions (bear in mind this is on top of a full day of combat) you’re squaring off against the final boss, only to have several party members turn on you because SURPRISE, you picked the wrong traitor. The End.

Or rather, the beginning, because that’s the scenario that PS3 and PS Vita users will be facing when ATLUS launches the tactical RPG Lost Dimension this summer. In this wild mashup of an RPG, the player is the main protagonist of SEALED — a group of psychically gifted warriors — and acts as their commander on the battlefield. After combat, the warriors wait back in their base camp where the protagonist can chat with several members to improve their relationships, and at certain points use his unique ability to read minds to try and sniff out the traitors.
There seem to be a group of people that comment on these Japanese RPG imports to complain about when they don't tick every box on a list of requirement they have for it, as this one doesn't include Japanese audio. In positive news, it will support PS TV.

Ryan Clements wrote up some impressions of the new King's Quest game that will be out later this year on PS4/PS3.

'Indy' isn't a genre. but yes, in general, lower budget games will always saturate a market because there is a much smaller barrier to entry in the market.

If you decided you wanted to make a game, quit your job, took your savings, and hired a small team to make it... you'd end up with a 'indy' game. You have no chance of making a AAA game, even if your idea is 100x better than most AAA games.

Add in all the people doing the same thing with shit ideas, and you have a broad amount of releases, some good, some great, some bad, across many genres, all called 'indy' for some stupid reason.

Needs to stop being said. Microsoft has a laundry list of decent to flat out great AAA and arcade titles to choose from. MS is winning this battle. Period.

Seriously stop. Both sides. This isnt the place for fanboy BS.
Agreed, this is already looking like the fanboy garbage I saw on the official PS forums (and what little time I spent on the Xbox forums). The fanboy wars is one of the reasons I quit using the official PS forums. This is CAG for crying out loud people, we don't need it here too.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/03/11/ps4-update-2-50-yukimura-preview-suspendresume-and-more/

While developing the PlayStation 4 system, our hardware and software teams relied on feedback from our community of developers. The result is the most innovative and forward-thinking gaming console in the market today. Since launch, PlayStation has continued that trend of listening to feedback by bringing some of the most highly requested features from the PlayStation Nation to PS4 with each of our system software updates. When we unveiled PS4 two years ago, we announced Suspend/Resume, a feature that would enable PS4 users to jump in and out of their games faster than ever. This has been a feature gamers have been excited about since then, and today I am honored to officially confirm that system software update 2.50, “Yukimura,” will soon deliver Suspend/Resume, as well as a number of other requested features to PS4.

Suspend/Resume, which will be supported by nearly all PS4 titles, will create an atmosphere where your games are immediately available at any time — just pick up your DualShock 4 wireless controller, hit the PS button and get right back into the action of your games. When it’s time to log off, simply put your PS4 in Rest Mode and when you power up the next time, you’ll start your game where you left off. Spend less time getting into your games and more time playing them.

Here are some of the other highly requested new features and changes coming soon in “Yukimura:”

  • Sub-account to Master account Upgrade: Users with a sub-account will now be able to upgrade to a master account directly from their PS4 when they turn 18, removing restrictions for chat, enabling users to fund their own wallet, make purchases and more. Currently, users can upgrade their sub-accounts online athttps://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/.
  • Facebook Friend Search: Gamers globally have jumped into PS4 as a redefined social gaming experience and connecting with friends over the network is a huge part of what makes the PS4 community so special. PlayStation now lets you go even bigger by connecting with your Facebook friends on PS4 using your linked account. Search for Facebook friends who are PlayStation Network members and build on the foundation of Friends you already have in your list.
  • Remote Play & Share Play at 60 fps: For games that support 60 fps, the ability to customize the frame rate of Remote Play and Share Play will be added with “Yukimura.” Play to your bandwidth strengths and use this option to stream gameplay at 60 or 30 fps when using Remote Play or Share Play on supported devices.
  • Accessibility Options: “Yukimura” introduces a wide variety of options to make their PS4 entertainment experience even more accessible. Options include text to speech, enlarged text, bolder fonts, higher contrast UI, zoom for displayed pictures, invert colors on screen and more. Users will also be able to reassign buttons for DualShock 4, making it easier for users with limited manual dexterity or limited reach and strength to play.
  • Trophy Improvements: We have received a ton of feedback to improve Trophies. In “Yukimura,” a screenshot will automatically be captured at the moment a Trophy is earned, making it easier than ever for you to share your greatest gaming moments with your friends. We’re also adding more sorting options along with the new ability to remove games from the Trophy list that have 0% completion.
  • Share Video Clips to Dailymotion: When sharing standout PS4 moments via the Share button on DualShock 4, “Yukimura” will allow players to upload directly to Dailymotion.
Stay tuned for more information on “Yukimura” and, as always, let us know in the comments how we can continue to improve PS4 to make it the best place to play.

Remappable buttons, remote/share play at 60fps, and suspend/resume are huge gets.

hopefully this comes with other surprise bonus features.  and maybe a nice little vita firmware upgrade.

Re: the 2.50 'Yukimura' Firmware Update...

The update I really want is to be able to remove alphas/betas/demos from the Library App. I hate seeing that in there. Makes my OCD flare up.

It sounds like your friends need to jump to the master race (PC) if they are that concerned with paying to play online. Not only that, but games on PC become cheaper faster and get bundled in these bundling websites (Humble, Bundlestars, etc). So if they are that frugal, then that is the way to go in the long run.
yeah, but they'd also have to invest a ton of time learning how the platform works, how to keep it up to date, how to work around crashes, etc etc etc -- something casuals don't ever want to do. It's a hard sell. And it's sad it's their only option.

I couldn't agree more but this kind of behavior is some times perpetuated and consequently condoned by some... *cough* CAG twitter feed *cough*

Yukimura update sounds really exciting for all the PS4 people.

THIS.

Why don't we just bring PC gaming into the discussion.... And why it's 1000000000000000000.220112835 Times better than both?

I currently own:

PS4

PS3

PS2

(Pretty sure my launch day PS1 is in the garage..)

Xbox

Xbox 360

Xbox One

Dreamcast

New 3DS XL

PSTV

PS Vita (Pch-1001)

PSP Go

PSP 1001 & PSP 3001

GBA SP

PC

Mac

iPhone + iPad

Galaxy Tab 7

I had a Wii but rarely played it.. I ended up sending the Wii + about 15 games to a friend for his kids. (and him)

Just traded my DS Lite away.

Maybe somewhere tucked deep in the rules is the fine print that says to be a member of CAG you have to pick a console. But i don't remember reading it.. We are CAG's here.. I can't find the "you can only own one console" box either.

Every platform has it's advantages/disadvantages but they are LARGELY determined by the gamer, not the games.

I DON'T LIKE HALO...... AT ALL. But you don't see me bashing Halo. Many people like it, I don't.

I GAME... Sure I have my preferences.. but PRICE is the biggest factor for me. (most times)

If you prefer one console over another... good for you. But don't tell ME that my preference is wrong, or that your choice is superior.

Discuss the games on sale... keep the "console wars" out of here.

A tear falls from McIntosh's eye whenever a purchase of Hotline Miami is made.

I say go for it. UC1 is much maligned for no reason, I still think its worth your time. Part 2 is amazing, and I still haven't gotten around to part 3 but I guess I have plenty of time with the delay of 4.
I don't really recall UC1 being much maligned, when it came out it was a smash hit. I think people are just more critical of it in light of the sequel. Starting to work through of the series I'm behind on.

The first Uncharted was the game that reminded me games could be fun. It was like being Indiana.

Yeah I think its more of one of those things where looking back, people talk a lot of shit but it was awesome. I think it might have more to do with your first exposure to the series. Part 2 was even more over the top and insane but that just added to the fun, and for those who played that first, part 1 seemed a little tamer.

You're the only one I've ever seen talk shit about UC1 and try to be serious with the troll attempt.

I'm really really excited to see if 2.5 reduced remote play lag. The capture and compression adds about 100ms lag right now. It's not a deal breaker, but it's noticeable. Speeding it up by a single frame would slice that by about 1/3. And it should also help with perceived input lag in 60 fps games like TLOU.

I can't agree more. Maybe it is because I am not paying for top tier internet connection speeds, but remote play isn't a possibility for me currently. If the system update does improve lag, it will refresh my interest in the PS4 as remote play was one of the core reasons I bought it since I have a Vita.

Were you on the same local network or were you using it away from home? It's okay for me when both machines are on the same wireless network.

UC1 is kinda samey; jungle, jungle, jungle, jungle. One of the reasons I liked UC2 so much more is the change in environments during the course of the game.

Same local network. I even have my PS4 directly connected to my modem and still the game play is super choppy when using remote play. I posted my problem earlier on CAG and I seem to be in the minority with this issue. I thought more people would have the same issue as me. I guess my internet speeds suck.

I find it hard to believe that a majority of Uncharted players thinks it's actually a bad game. Only people being hyperbolic about it not being as good as the second game could make it seem like that's the case.
