:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

$50 so $5.00 back.  Not much savings but I'd probably be kicking myself if I jump the gun and they release the codes before the sale ends.

I'm torn on whether to get Ratchet on Vita or stick with PS3. Quick research shows that the Vita version is not PSTV compatible and I'm worried the Vita experience (controls, framerate, graphics) are going to be watered down and butchered. The Vita port of FFA was absolutely atrocious and the Sly Cooper collection just didn't feel right with the tiny Vita nubs. Rear touchpad controls are also a pain. Would love a portable version of the PS2 ratchet games though.

I hear that it's glitchy on the Vita. I know in another thread they were talking about the EU version having a bug where you couldn't get items you need just to finish the second game. After the history of the ones you've mentioned plus Jak and Daxter I'm passing on the Vita port.

Yeah it kills me because I'd love to have the games on the go but probably would ruin the experience for me and better left playing on the big screen in HD. With all of these great digital PS3 games and sales I'm going to have to keep the slim around alternating in the HDMI rotation.

Exactly. I would rather have it on the Vita because I haven't even turned the PS3 on in months but at the current price it's too much if it's as bad as it sounds.

Do you even understand what 'jumping to conclusions' means?
It means you have something happen: for example, a game gets delisted and you JUMP TO A CONCLUSION like 'it must be because of poor sales'.
There are plenty of other reasons a game can get delisted:

Here are a few:
1) Licensing ran out
2) Publisher went out of business
3) Publisher forgot to fill out paperwork
4) Sony done messed up and it got accidentally delisted, and publisher isn't on the ball enough to notice
5) Exploit discovered in game
6) etc etc.

Notice none of them are 'poor sales', because games aren't pulled from digital storefronts for 'poor sales'. It makes no sense. I'm sure there are some obscure psn games that have sold all of 10 copies and still sit up on the store, because, why not?

You are jumping to conclusions because you're insisting it's because of poor sales, which, honestly, isn't just jumping to a conclusion, it's jumping to a stupid conclusion. Just because a game doesn't meet sales expectations doesn't mean you pull it from a digital store, and plenty of the games you mention certainly sell. Heck, one of your examples was demonstrably incorrect (VC2)

I'm not even going to bother responding to the idea that a game like Silent Hill Downpour might get delisted because it could 'tarnish the brand' because that's just.... my god, do you read what you post?Maybe Bioware is going to delist Dragon Age 2! Rejoice! Are they going to delete Uncharted Fight for Fortune from my vita?!! (actually, I enjoyed that)

OMG Frisky hasn't posted in the past hour, he must have been abducted by Tyler!
That's not true. PSN isn't Amazon - it wouldn't surprise me at all if companies had to agree to sell, say, 1000 units or risk delisting. At the very least, publishers are charged for the bandwidth used when PSN users download their games. That's why you often see demos removed from PSN - they cost publishers money if not enough people buy the full game. Demos on Xbox stay up forever and they get more because Microsoft doesn't charge for the bandwidth used to download them.

I don't know why you brought up Dragon Age 2 or Uncharted for Vita because reviews were good, sales were good for both games.

By your logic, F2P games should stay up forever since they don't cost anything. Free Realms was shut down, PlayStation Home is going to be shut down, City of Heroes on PC was shut down, Soulcalibur: Unbreakable Soul on iOS was shut down. All of them were still making money until they were removed from their marketplaces. (Actually, I don't know about the last one since I don't folllow iOS news.)

I have like $30 worth in my cart, so saving an extra $3 would be nice especially since I don't get taxed on PSN stuff like XBL. I'll wait because if they do send them out before this sale is over, I'll add some more stuff to my cart.[/quote] why don't you get taxed? What state are you in?

What about Danganronpa and Disgaea 4 at that price point?
Danganronpa is same as it's only previous sale and I can't even recall a Disgaea 3 Vita sale so they're both solid if you want want the games.

Petz PSP games for $35 each say hello. ;)

Anyone know if I buy the collector's PS3 version of FF XIV, will all that stuff if I use their transfer-over thing to the PS4 version if I transfer it immediately? That way I'd pay less for it.

The only sale I ever regret missing happened a few summers ago when Ratchet & Clank collection was going for $8 as part of the Golden Week sale (if memory serves). Don't think it's ever been that cheap since so I'll pick up that one along with Tactics Ogre and maybe a few others.

I will probably end up with a bunch of PS1 games that I'll likely never go back to and actually play, so I'm holding out as long as possible for the 10% discount... At least, that is how I'm rationalizing all of this spending.

Yeah, that's what I did when it was on sale last year. It gets associated with your SE account in the process.

To follow up on previous discussions, the new PS Now titles revealed with the announcement of the subscription option that some sites thought were exclusive to the sub are also available for rental, so there are a bunch of new titles on there now. The PS4 app is exclusively for the subscription, so you can sign up for the seven day trial in there if you want to try it out or just visit the PS Store on PS4 for the same thing.

Really digging this anniversary sale. Picked up Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and Okami HD (never played it back in the day).

Great, I'm in. While it's downloading, how necessary is a keyboard to this version? I'm thinking I probably need one.
I didn't feel the need, but I've only played the initial 30 days that came with the purchase and haven't exactly invested in the game just yet. You might be better off asking in the FFXIV thread so the vets can offer their feedback.

Which final fantasy games are the best for someone that's never played the series?
The games aren't for everyone but by defualt the fan favorite is FF7.

My first one I played was FF8 then I played the rest. 8 has a lot of problems but it has a soft spot in my heart.

FF6 is probably my fave but I don't think it's on sale.

I prefer the chrono series to FF, but I mean it's different strokes for different folks, ya' know.

What are a few other RPGs you like? Might help giving someone an idea to point you in the right direction.

With that said, if you don't like RPGs with a TON of text then FF might not be your jams.

I glanced over at the CAG twitter feed a couple minutes ago and noticed they have a link to a deal for the Sly Collection on PS3 for $3. Not sure if this has been mentioned already but I typically ignore the twitter feed so I had to share this here.

http://t.co/oTbSjsM9Qx

EDIT: I can confirm this works, I went through checkout using Paypal funds and they sent a redeemable code to my email instantly. I just redeemed my code on the Playstation Store and it's now ready for download.

Thanks, just got it and redeemed it instantly. Great deal for something I'm probably never going to download or play.

What about Danganronpa and Disgaea 4 at that price point?
I'm picking up Danganronpa. I was looking for a physical copy, but it's apparently becoming harder to find. It's up over MSRP on Amazon, but coming down a little now. I'll go digital for half the price, especially, since this is the lowest sale price it's had on PSN that I recall. I'm just mad I didn't buy the second one on sale since I didn't have the first one yet. :wall:

Just got a Vita recently.  Can anyone tell me if the PS1 classics or PSP games are also playable on the Vita or only on the respecitve platforms?

They should all be playable on PS3, all the ones that say Vita will be playable and downloadable directly through the Vita, some that don't say Vita are unofficially supported and work on the Vita but must be transferred from a PS3, and the rest Sony has locked out all Vita compatibility on. Also if it's available through the Vita store it will be compatible.

Opinions on Little Big Planet for Vita? Never played any of them and that seems like a good price.
It's really good, probably the best in the series (haven't played 3 yet personally). On it's own merits it's a great platformer and there's a ton of great user made content available for download. Well worth it if you like platformers that don't have to be bone grindingly hard.

I loved it. I already owned LittleBigPlanet 2 and LittleBigPlanet Karting, but hadn't played much of either. The only difficulty I had in LBP Vita is that it was a little tricky to get some of the multi-player required prize orbs, mostly cause the people who play online seem to be kinda... dumb. But the game itself is a helluva lot of fun. I especially had fun Acing the levels.

Just started r&c collection on the vita. Never played any of these before. The first one starts like beyond good and evil, which is a good thing.

To those asking about the port quality: Ran into a bug where text was stuck on the screen and where the music just stopped and I had to reload the save in the first 20 minutes. Frame rate seems great and since I don't have a PS3 and prefer portability I'm glad I got it.
