:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Hmm, Interested to see what the SE sale prices will be. Wonder if the FF games will be under $3?

I know Sony didn't have to do anything but new PS4 users got the most screwed by this. I mean my kids had to wait for days to play with their new toy over Christmas (as did I of course). And then we get a 10% off coupon when here may be some decent sales for other systems, but jack shit for PS4.

Oh well, might save a $1.49 and pre order Grim Fandango. Yippee!
Wait for possible flash sale

Just FYI, Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut should be avoided. The Director's Cut is built on an old version of the game which reintroduced a ton of bugs and performance issues which they've never patched. Even on a bleeding-edge PC Director's Cut is a buggy mess which runs like ass...on PS3 it's even worse. :shame:

If you want some Human Revolution love then get the original.

Why is this the first I've heard of any technical problems for the Director's Cut? That's the one in my backlog. :wall:

Why is this the first I've heard of any technical problems for the Director's Cut? That's the one in my backlog. :wall:
Each time that it goes on sale on Steam a whole new crop of posts pop-up in the game's forum complaining about bugs and performance issues. My understanding is that the developer went back to version 1.0 of the code and used that for the Director's Cut along with a new lighting engine. The problem being that all of the stuff that was patched since 1.0 hasn't been fixed in the Director's Cut version and the new lighting engine introduced all kinds of performance issues. (and on PS3 the performance issues are even worse apparently)

it looks like for japan the same code is being used for 10% off, at least two of my gmails got the email in japanese cuz some doofus is using my email as their PSN id in japan.  The code is

8PLLN4L3DQ

thats PSN japan only, not US/EU

Thanks for the info. Once I saw the 15 gig file size I gladly decided to pass, LOL. Might as well grab a used copy of the original at GS for $5.

Edit: I recently upgraded my PS3 HDD from the default 160GB to 1TB and the thought of downloading a 15 gig file still made me change my mind.

I'm in for Just Cause 2 Ultimate Edtion. Been wanting to pick up a physical copy of the original. The digital edtion will do just fine for $6.

Was supposed to be done buyin' PS3 games, but that Just Cause 2: UE looks very temptin' for $6. Watched a video review and it looks fun.

Would you guys recommend this or should I just wait for JC3 whenever I get a PS4?

Edit: No custom soundtracks. Well that sucks.

That's why I passed on Street Fighter IV Ultra for PS3. 15 gb was way too much for a digital download. And I've got about 326 gb left on a 500 gb PS3.

Just Cause 2 is AMAZING. It took me nearly 70 hours to get its plat and I loved every single minute. It's up to you whether you want to just wait for JC3, but I'm getting that day-one. :whee:

2K sale as well. Finally gonna get Bioshock 2. Curious to see how much the borderlands dlc will be since it seems the store is still updating.

I picked up Syphon Filter, Soul Reaver, Chrono Cross, Ys and Trails. I never had a PS1 or Psp, so this sale was pretty good. Now I just need to get a Vita to actually play them.

Play Just Cause 2 while you wait for Just Cause 3. Problem solved.

I like how it's all of (or at least most of) the FF games that weren't on sale last week.

You would want Duodecim at the very least, but 5, 6, and Origins are supposed to have really terrible load times for everything.

...I say this, I know this...and yet those very games are sitting in my cart waiting for the 10% off code. WHAT AM I THINKING?!?

I think a misstype happened.

The PS3 version isn't on sale. I'm not sure why some of those games are listed in the Square Enix sale section when they're not in the main Deals section.

Yea the load times are pretty bad, but they are playable.

Unlike FF4 for the GBA where there was lag during the battles making ATB Impossible.

So if you're like me and don't really care for Final Fantasy AND have had PS+ for a few years, this sale has nothing really to offer.  Of course, My assessment of Final Fantasy is based off of only spending a couple hours in FFV and a few more in FFXIII, so it's solid.  At this point, I just figure I'm too late to the FF game to get in to it.

What I plan on getting with my code:

Citizen of Earth (which everyone is calling "Earthbound inspired" and is 20% off this week for it's release)

Peggle 2 DLC

Things I need to know more about:
Ironclad Tactics

Splice

Switch Galaxy Ultra

The psx versions of the snes final fantasy games play terribly. They have loading times on par with epic poetry.

I'm torn on the 3rd birthday though...it's effectively the game that means we're never getting another parasite eve game, because it sold terribly, got bad reviews and caused a fan backlash, but I am a little curious to try it...

Best in Series are (In no particular order, I listed them from the top of my head)

6, 4, 1, 7, 9, 12

Many people like 10 as well.

The rest are gimmicky or have problems..

If you want a good narrative, play 6 since it probably is the best story wise with the least amount of WTF.

Oh boy, here I go.

My favorites are FF 12 and 8! They are not gimmicky nor have problems. It's just a matter of opinion. I played all of them from 6 to 13 (excluding 11 and including X-2) and the only one I think has problems is 13. All the other ones are unique and awesome.

Dude, there is no such thing as too late to start a Final Fantasy game. I would recommend you to start with FF10 sinc it is totally awesome and has been remastered.

I was with you until you included 1. First entry excuses aside, that was one of the most gimmicky of them all.

I've played and beaten them all, including all the direct sequels and most spinoffs (No Dissidia)

Oh god I forgot about 12 which has one of the most focused narratives in the series!!
Thank you!

I feel 8 is gimmicky because of the whole GF system in place, and how they completely changed both the leveling system and made monsters scale to your level.

Though I do feel 2 is probably the worst and most annoying. Whomever thought the level-up system was ok should be shot.. everything levels based on what you do. To level sword damage you have to use swords, to level HP and DEF you have to take damage, to level fire magic you have to use fire magic.. and it is per spell and per item (all swords are sword skill, but don't affect ax skill)

Oddly though, I have problems with games where you can change your class on the fly like FF3 and 5 since I like to keep a traditional party and both games felt like you needed a specific party roster on a battle by battle basis.
