:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Apotheon and Transister look way cooler than the PS3 PS+ games. I'm not a PS4 owner (yet). Bummer for me. Oh well. I guess I'll keep chipping away at my already too huge backlog.

ah yea that would work. But im saying if you click the PS+ free games section like you do on the PS3 it wont show all the free games you get. Just the two for the PS4. So snaggingn cross buy stuff from there wont work. In fact while ps4 store is snappier than ps3 or vita it seems to be less functional overall
I think they're keeping the PS4 store as 'clean' as possible for new playstation converts.

Here's to hoping for a good ass sale today.
You got the ass sale you asked for.

Just got around to checking PSPlus for the month, sigh I picked up Rogue Legacy as one of my 10% off items. Oh well, good game anyways.

I also got Resogun that weekend and I have a serious question on it. I've played it a while on PS3 and Vita and simply don't get the big praise. I like shooters and loved Super Stardust but are the PS3/Vita versions massively downgraded from the PS4 or something? All I remember is people talking about how that was the game to get when the PS4 came out. So far the game just seems ok. What am I missing?
Keep playing it? It's an amazing score attack game.

I'm not sure if it's 'great' if you just play it to play it, but if you're in the zone, perfectly timing all your bursts and kills and saves, keeping that mulitplier zooming to the sky... then yes, it deserves every last bit of praise it's gotten.

Game is a masterpiece in that regard. I've only played on ps4, will eventually plat on vita too.

I think there is some nostalgia there for Defender (Aqua Kitty was a good recent clone too). It was also one of the prettier games at launch with the voxel/particle effects. The fact that it was free at launch helped sway opinions too I think. If you like score attack type games, then I think it can be pretty addicting, but it is a little obtuse until you figure out exactly what you need to do to multiply your score.
I grew up with Defender, but it's not nostalgia for me. I would have preferred it was Robotron Redux, I never was into Defender that much. Resogun is just absolutely beautiful when you're in the zone, doing perfect runs on each level.

Grabbed the 3 ps4 ps plus games.

Does anyone know how to log into origin account from bf4 hardline beta? I type in my origin ID and it says it already exists. Well yeah it exists, it is my origin ID.

I liked the beta last year but it totally is just BF4 with new maps. I'm most interested in the campaign, especially given recent events.
Were you playing conquest or the other modes? Conquest is a weak imitation of BF without the big guns. The other two modes though really fit the cops and robbers motif and the smaller weaponry. I'll likely be picking it up down the road when it drops in price just for those sorts of modes.

I don't know if conquest was even in that beta, it had the one where you get the money from the middle and take it to your trucks, and the one where the crims have to get the money and get to a drop off point. I thought both modes kinda sucked.

Payday is probably still the closest thing to a proper heist game, which is very sad.

The thing I like about the beta are the quips your dude yells out. "Here's yo med kit, muthafucka!" That gives the MP a personality I wasn't expecting to see.

First, a word of noob advice: Rogue Legacy does not show up as a free game on consoles, but only on Vita. Redeem it there and then take advantage of cross buy on consoles. In other words, the OP is misleading; you have to have a vita if you want it free on consoles.

Also, HAH! Patience has paid off! So glad I saved $16. The game is fucking amazing to boot. So addicting.

Had no problem downloading for free on PS4.

Just add it to your library on the pc playstation store.

Major difference between the RE6 verisions? Is the ultimate one even worth it?

Worked for me on the PS3 store.

It is a fun game.

I clicked on the PS4 link in the OP and the page specifically says it's free for PS+ members. What's misleading about that? You don't even need to use a console to get it, just a PC with a browser on it.

Strange. But I use a PC or at worse my phone to lock in the licenses on all the PS+ stuff. To me it's the only way to really do it since I don't own a Vita (Yet) and I mainly put all of my game time into my massive PS3 backlog.

I would highly suggest anyone that's on PS+ to use the webstore instead of their system for this stuff.

Colonial Marines is on sale for $40, eh? That is some serious trolling.

I'd rather play it on my Gamecube/Wii for the better resolution but for $3 RE2 is hard to say no to.
Even for a permanent price drop that's serious trolling indeed. I grabbed it from GS a week ago for $3.33 with the 3 for $10 deal.

...

So Yakuza 4 is 21GB? Wow. I have it on disc so I won't be downloading it (though I did lock in the license)... but it's really what makes me nervous about Yakuza 5 being digital only since it's supposed to be the biggest game in the series. I hope they change their mind about physical even if I'd have to order it from a Sega web store or something else mega generic.

I think I'm grabbing RE 2 & 3. Those are some dang good prices. I think I need to make a rule for myself to grab any good classic PS1 games that are $3 or less.

And you don't even need to do that. I just searched for Rogue Legacy on my PS4 and it comes up as free.

Does anyone else's Rogue Legacy icon show up as Apotheon on the dashboard? It's really weird. They are literally side by side but obviously Rogue Legacy will load up when I click on it.

That got tired to me pretty quick since it's every time you do anything. Like when the common thugs in Arkham City had "bitch" in every single line of dialogue.

Not only is it 20GB, but you'd need a whopping 40GB just to install it. I can't imagine many people will go through that trouble to try a game they've never heard of. You can do what I'm doing and just buy the PSP games, which have virtually no chance of coming over and are pretty affordable. They play differently from their console counterparts as well.

My Rogue Legacy saving icon shows up and stays there a lot on my Playstation TV. It's annoying and covers like half the mini-map. I thought it was a cross save issue, but it still does it after I disabled it.

I really liked Yakuza Dead Souls and was looking forward to checking this one out...but, ya, I was disappointed when I saw the file size. Pretty slim chance that I'll be clearing out the required 45 GB to install it on my ps3 anytime soon.

Well I am loving the BF Hardline beta. Played 2 hours of heist. Not looking forward to the inevitable patch that nerfs the shotgun however.

This happens from time to time and it's obnoxious as fuck. It also can fuck up trophies. I had the same problem with Injustice and Titan Attacks. Earned a trophy in Injustice and it popped a trophy for Titan Attacks. Friend had a similar issues with Titan Attacks and Secret Ponchos.

It happens when you download and install games at the same time. I download everything on my PS4 one at a time. Like I said, it's super obnoxious, but it's the only solution that I know will work without having to delete and re-download games.

I have this issue with Terraria and Spelunky... not sure how to do this short of removing and reinstalling it.

I tried rebuliding the database and it didn't seem to work for me, but I heard that it works for others.

With small games it's no big issue, but larger games are a hassle to redownload. Like I said, downloading games one at a time is the best bet to avoid this until they get an OS fix in. Hopefully they're aware of it at Sony.

It looks like I have a Rogue Legacy Vita trial that needs to finish before I can "buy" the full version.  The store gave me this message but still allowed me to add the game to my cart.  Should I wait to get the vita version until after I complete the trial to avoid any conflict or will it matter either way?

Not only do I add games to my backlog but apparently I add trials to it too.

Mine gave me the same message, and I was sure I've never tried the trials (having already beaten it on PC long before it came out on PSN).

I guess what's misleading is that it is found nowhere on PS4's storefront, but it is on Vita. Kind of an easy assumption to make at that point, seeing as how they consistently put the free games in the spotlight. I don't redeem games from a browser that often, so I really couldnt have known. Doing it my way was faster than redeeming it through my phone.

Rogue Legacy is not on the PS4's store? I find that hard to believe.

It is most definitely there. That's how I downloaded it.

Rebuild your database. Supposed to work wonders, can fix other issues as well that you don't even know you have. I assume at this point it's a known, if relatively rare, glitch and will be fixed in some upcoming firmware update.

Does anyone have any experience with playing Resident Evil 2 and/or 3 on a handheld? How does gameplay hold up compared to playing either on a console?

I finally tried out Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (Vita) last night and... woah. It's certainly living up to all the praise it has received.
The sheer number of items and powers that can be obtained in the game make it feel a little overwhelming at first. But, after multiple runs, it all started to click for me.

Early on, I was having some bad runs. I was getting items that slowed me down or seemed to serve no real purpose. I kept my distance from enemies because I was still getting the hang of their attack patterns (hoping every step of the way to get ranged upgrades/power ups).

Then I noticed that in order to unlock Eve all I had to do was make it through the first two floors without picking up any hearts. This seemed like a realistic goal and I thought unlocking the character could be helpful during future runs so I went for it.

As I worked through the first two floors, I did not venture into as many rooms and took fewer unnecessary risks. Things were going well and then I received a power up, the charge shot.

I was not pleased with this development initially. I was content taking pot shots at enemies from a relatively safe distance. The charge shot forced me to get in close and make my shots count. By the time I reached the level 2 boss I started to feel like a bad ass and took him out in a matter of seconds.

I earned the achievement for Eve and unlocked her character. Up to this point, the farthest I had reached previously was the boss on the 4th floor.

A short time later, I got a cat paw, it doubled the number of my hearts and changed them into soul hearts. Nice. I then got a tarot card that I had no idea how to use or what effect it had.

I then got the ring worm upgrade, which basically turned my charged shot into a ranged shotgun... Whooped Mom's Ass. That was fun. After the credits rolled, I thought, what's next? I went to the secrets section and there are 16 endings?!?! I guess I haven't even scratched the surface for the number of items found and I haven't even looked at what the challenges are all about.

All rants aside, this is a really good game. Each run feels like a fresh new experience because every time I'm given a different combination of items and layouts forcing me to change the way I play the game. It's games like this that make me wish I could pay for the game and unbind it from PS+.

On the Vita they play just as well as they did on the original Playstation. The only difference is you only have two shoulder buttons, which doesn't affect the gameplay much if at all.

I love Binding of Issac. I played it like crazy on the PC and I've been doing the same with Rebirth, I really enjoy playing it on my Vita too. It's really the perfect type of game for Vita and feels right at home. I feel like Issac falls into the same category of other Indie rouge-likes such as Rogue Legacy and Spelunky, which are equally as good.

Well I had barely played Rogue Legacy so I just deleted it and re-downloaded it. I'll know how it looks when I get back home tonight. But I did have all the freebies downloading at the same time so from now on I'll just do one at a time.

Doesn't bother me enough to redownload all my digital games. Thanks for the advice though!

It's a good time for a Resident Evil sale. I'm really enjoying the Remaster, and it'll cause me to buy some other Resident Evil games now that they are on sale. I didn't play Nemesis, Code Veronica, or Revelations, so I'll get those. The Chronicles games look like rail shooters. If they are I'll pass on them, and I'm not interested in Raccoon City.

I might get Resident Evil 2 even though I did play it. And I still can play it if I pull out and hook up my Playstation. The Remaster has made me fall back in love with the series.

The only thing showing up in the All Deals section for the PS4 is MLB 14 and Pix the Cat. The Playstation blog lists those games as having new prices, so there actually isn't anything on sale for the PS4 this week. I'm not bothered by that due to the Resident Evil sale and the PS+ line up.
You have the Resident Evil 2 disks? Does your PS3 not play disks? Even then, if you are going to get all of those other titles you might as well get it too. The best game in the series, and the possibility of RE-Remake style remake is the main reason I bought RE-remakeHD already (at only 10% off...still have to CAG a little). Though I have some reservations about such a remake since the awesome gore of RE2 won't likely survive modern Capcom decision making.
