:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

I really hope Octodad is not the free PS+ game.

I forgot I got it free from Gamestop awhile back and it's quirky but personally after playing 30 minutes of it I'm pretty done with it until I absolutely have nothing else to play and my internet goes out.

I'm weirded out that he has kids.

What do you think he's doing with all those tentacles in his spare time?

Updated version with all the DLC. Rorona Plus is probably still worth it, if you have the original.
Well I already have the dlc characters. Doing a bit more research from the sounds of it I'm not missing much since the first two games barely changed anything. Rorana plus is the only one that's a major improvement over the original but I already own that on ps3.

So basically I'd be spending $60 on redundant content since I'd need to get a 1 month ps+ pass to get the bigger discount. Part of my wants it just to have more games for my Vita and because hey they are portable, but at the same time I'm trying not to spend much money so I'm not sure it's worth it.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but hopefully you guys don't mind too much.

Has anyone gotten their $15 PSN wallet code for spending $100 on PSN during that promo from over a week or two ago? It said that the codes were supposed to be sent to your console's inbox by March 2nd, I hope I didn't accidentally delete it. I purchased two years of PS+ and some random $1.99 DLC to put me over $100 during the promo period, so I'm sure I qualify for the $15 back.

I haven't gotten mine either and I know I for sure spent over $100 from my PSN wallet between 2/17-2/24. I've never had a problem getting the credit before so I'm assuming the PS Plus delay is taking priority over getting the promotion paid out.

Same here. No code yet.
Hmm no one has an answer to my 2 questions on the ps4?

Are there any upcoming special editions I should wait for?
Google is your friend. You could find the answer in like two seconds. It's not like people on CAG have any sort of secret knowledge of Sonys release plans.

Is there a limit to the number of PS4's you can have your account on like there is for the ps3?

nah, pstv is a bit weak, id rather just purchase a 2nd ps4. Just wondering if theres any unique looking one coming out or if i should ust get a Destiny bundle or what. I REALLY wish we got that silver Dragon Quest Slime edition one
Yes Slim

Broke down and bought a lot more than I normally would have. I typically prefer physical, but will buy digital for the right price ... though many of these were digital only.

All for Vita:

EDF 2017 Portable
COD: Black Ops Classified
Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment
All 3 Atelier games
Ben 10 Galactic Racing

... And my 64GB memory card was full before I bought them.

Come on, Sony.  I like you, but you make me feel like a battered spouse sometimes.  No $15 reimbursement and no PS+ announcement.  Is it reading too much into the delay to wonder if they are having problems lining up 6 freebies with publishers?

I think that Sony really needs to work on their PR.  Personally I'm far too backlogged to care about the PS+ games, but whether its rational or not, people take that shit way too seriously for them to be left hanging this long.  At this point, just like with DriveClub, people are going to be pretty dissapointed no matter what we are given.

The only I'm going to legitimately bitch about here is the inablity to organize your library better on PS4, what is this 1990?  How the hell are there not more customization options...

Sure that makes sense.

It could also be that they are saving themselves some backlash by waiting to announce the games because it's not a great month.

Or maybe it's going to be a great month but they are waiting because they want people talking about PS+ and no one talks about stuff when it's going well. So people are talking about the lack of a list early and then they will probably follow up with the people they talked to with the results being worth the wait.

Or it could be one of the games acquired is currently on sale and they didn't want to undercut sales for the publisher.

I actually don't care what the reason is as long as the freebies hit today so I can lock the licenses in today or tomorrow. I mean it's unlikely I'm probably going to actually put any serious time into any of the new free games on + anytime soon... so no sense in me getting overly antsy about what those games will be anyway.

or they could be going away from free games and pushing the NOW.

no way, that would be PR suicide. If that was their intent, they would have to ease into it starting swapping out a free game or two with NOW rentals. Their Plus subscribers skyrocketed after adding the IGC to the point that Microsoft took notice and started adding free games as well. Ultimately, they want people to have two subscription services with Now and Plus, so I don't see any changes coming anytime soon. The change I can see happening will be adding an additional PS4 game and dropping a PS3 game. It's just good business sense.

They've got a much bigger pool of games to pull from for PS3 though. Easier to just dish out old games than give away everything released thus far on PS4 while it is still building a library.

very true, but as soon as PS4 sales start to lag, they will need to make a move to push the holdouts into upgrading.

Adding more games per month for the PS4 won't help much. Remember that anyone with a PSN account can add those games, even without a PS4. I did that with Resogun and I didn't even have a PS4. What is going to make the "holdouts" get a PS4 is great PS4 games. I think the sales of the PS4 this holiday season will get a bump with Uncharted 4 coming out.

Would like some ps2 games for once
Yeah that would be nice. Or they could double dip and throw in some PS1 games for both the PS3 & Vita. Suikoden or something else good would be nice.

I would at least "buy" it on the store and download it later. That way, you'll have it in your download list if you ever want to play it in the future.
Seconded! Locking in a license on a game currently free for you should be a no brainer. Though I do screen what games from bundles I've activated to my steam account. But that's a different thing because there are a lot of really bad games on there that end up in bundles.

It's not about adding more PS4 games as much as reducing the PS3 games. As long as they keep giving people good PS3 games, there's no need to upgrade.

I was hoping to use the $15 back to pick up another thing during this sale. CURSE YOU SONY!!!

Any reason to get the atelier games if you already have them on the ps3?
Since you already have Rorona plus, besides the costumes/dlc/extra dungeon, Meruru plus has an extra ending that properly resolves the whole Rorona age problem. It was supposed to be patched into the PS3 version but we never got the patch, so the only way to see it yourself is through Meruru Plus. You can just look up the script online though.

Obviously, you've never tried to find something in your PS3 or Vita download history. It's a nightmare. I'm mostly joking, but I do understand people who wouldn't want to clutter up that mess since Sony continually refuses to have better sorting options, etc. Some games have literally 100 different download entries on the list because of various DLC. Personally, I get every PS Plus game regardless of my interest since I am overly value conscious.

On top of that PS3 still has a waaaay better library than the PS4 and it's gonna stay that way for the foreseeable future

As someone that is currently mainly a PS3 gamer, I disagree. It hasn't stopped me from getting that PS-TV on sale or adding a PS4 to the family system collection. IF anything the generosity shown for the PS3 and the other systems makes me think Sony will continue that tradition. It may take a couple years for the library of the PS4 to get big enough but I have no doubt deep into the PS4's life that PS+ IGC will start getting some really solid retail games for PS4.

I know you are mostly joking but man I messed up my download list for my PS3 on day 1 of getting PS+. I don't regret at all getting any of the free games, just the garbage freebies like avatars and themes and stuff. It is crazy though how the DLC for games ends up being so many downloads. The free stuff for Sword Art Online HF started out as two purchases and then ballooned into the dozens of individual components to download. Crazy stuff. Still I'd rather have that stuff clogging up my list than not have it.

As for Vita, I'm guessing the store on PSTV & Vita is the same... I was looking at the store on my PS-TV and I couldn't find a download history like on the PS3. IS there one? I did find a purchase history but it was just purchase receipts and not downloads or links to download.

I don't think they're doing it for PR.

I think one of the games fell through for some reason. Maybe it wasn't ready on time, and they had to find a new one to take its place and quickly negotiate/sign contracts/etc.

There should be no issue finding a game in a pinch... plenty of publishers would likely jump at the chance to get some cash for games that are no longer selling well. But that doesn't make getting contracts negotiated go any faster.

Contract issue explains it, is the most likely reason, and doesn't require any bizarre motivation on Sony's part.

How frequently have the Atelier games been on sale? I saw a few mentions of "last time they were on sale" or "last one to go on sale".   I started playing Rorona and enjoy it.  Would prefer to not binge buy the entire series if I can wait til later on games that I will play in successive order.

NEVER EVER

Get it now or wait 1+ years (going off of when we had the last sale)

If we get a golden week sale this year it might go up again

Must have had a big partner change their mind at the last minute. Sony should just fill any open slots with some first party games

Hell, Id be happy with ratchet and clank crack in time for ps3 or killzone/knack/driveclub ps4
