:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

So Sony Rewards does e-mail digital PSN codes? From the checkout process to my order confirmation e-mail it sounds like they're going to mail a physical code in about two weeks.

Tennis in the Face was part of the <$1 flash sale, not Plus.
Yes it was, my bad.

I was trying to think of games of the top of my head during the limited time I had to post that.

Just annoys me that people expect Sony (in this case) to give them everything they want. And if they don't see the ps+ free games as the best month ever... It's time to bash Sony.

Speaking of Sony Rewards, those of you who participated in the promotion for the free 1500 points with any purchase should see the points in your account today. They expire on Dec 31st.

NBA 2K14's servers have been taken down. I'm curious if that affects all of the microtransaction-infested modes.

My Little Pony Avatar 2 or My Little Pony Avatar 4? Who would have thought this would be such a hard decision  :whistle2:k

BTW, for those who were waiting, I just got my Sony Rewards code 10 minutes ago

without looking im going to guess the vita games SUCk..

and yeap they suck. Sony needs to just give up on vita if this is the crap they are going to be tossing as FREE
Like clock work! Cheers for that!

Deft Beck! I didn't have any issues logging into the PSN Store, and redeemed my Sony Rewards. Typically on a Tuesday, when the store is updating, there's all sorts of glitches so just wait until the store is fully updated. Check back later on tonight or tomorrow morning.

Housemarque's April Fools joke is that their collaboration with Eugene Jarvis is a VR title:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlZP-chfBZA

Test subjects say "real world now sucks"

We are proud to announce that the "Jarvis Project", the new game we are developing in collaboration with Eugene Jarvis, will benefit from Housemarque's bleeding edge experiments with VR tech.

This new technology, which is internally referred as "Boxel tech", allows for unprecedented immersion and graphic fidelity.

After their sessions, previous Boxel testers have reported various degrees of disconnection from the real world and symptoms such as red eyes, palpitations, baldness, and sadly even some loss of life.

Ilari Kuittinen, Housemarque's CEO, commented: "Despite some little hiccups, we're confident that our algorithms are above and beyond all the competition. That being said, it currently only works with games from the '80s."

For a deeper insight into this revolutionary technology, take a look at the reveal video embedded below.

Last week it was God of War Ascension and now Batman Arkham Origins. I just wish vanilla versions were included in these sales as I have season passes for both. I'm in no rush to play either of them and I can always wait for deeper discounts so no big lose.

Looks like another stellar line up of PS+ games in April. Killzone Mercenary alone is worth it for me. I already have a sealed copy of the goty edition Dishonored but this might get me to play it sooner.

Most never worked to begin with but I'm sure it breaks the entire game because even when you were offline you couldn't use any of your saves or access most modes. Think we all saw this coming.

I got 1500 free bonus points for cashing in 1000 points (and at least 600-800 was from promotions and me spending no money).

Sony, not a great business model but thanks for the points.

Was really hoping Arkham Origins was going to be a ps plus game since Asylum and City have been on there already. It would be pretty dirty of Sony to put it in May after this sale.

We've had a game go on sale one week and then got on PS+ the following week (Dragon's Crown) with very little rage about it.

Announcing the Limited Edition Batman: Arkham Knight PS4 Bundle

  • Price $449.99

There's a $399 option for the regular black console with game as well.
That would also be acceptable.

I kept thinking to myself "If there was a Batman bundle, I would get a PS4" and here it is. Now to get the funds together to make this a reality.

And to add icing to "Batman Week", Mark Hamil is appearing on The Flash in a couple of minutes as The Trickster. Guessing it's similar to Joker.

As for this week's sales, I am a blank slate for the Batman DLC. Which of them are worth getting?

Finally can pick up the Arkham City DLC, was worried they would just have the GOTY edition on sale again. Picking that up and the Arkham Origins season pass for sure!

Free stuff

free MotorStorm Buggy. Go to garage and download

It's not. It'll be $9.99 when it's out in a few weeks. The first game (China) was supposed to be a part of Unity's season pass.
I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of games set in China over the next few years.

Eh, Sony giving away Sony cash is a pretty dirt cheap way for them to get people involved in the ecosystem. It's not like it costs them $10 to give you $10, it only costs whatever they need to pay for royalties on what you buy.

I just wish i got that email. I spend wayyy to much on PSN to ever get any of the cool deals.

Hamill portrayed the Trickster on the previous Flash TV series that ran on CBS in the 1990s. Even though he also played the Joker on Batman: The Animated Series, the characters are unrelated other than the fact that they're both DC Comics villains.

Same here, time to dust off the Arkham City and Origins discs. Also picked-up Arkham Origins Blackgate, I have it on Vita and liked it enough to be willing to replay it on PS3 (eventually).

And here I thought the Batman sale would be shitty for me since I already own the main games in the series.

I've put a couple of hours into Axiom Verge so far and man this game is awesome. I highly recommend it if you're at all interested.

Vita really got the shaft this week in terms of deals. Is there any chance of an Easter weekend sale? I saw the EU store got an Easter sale starting a week ago, and I see some Vita titles on their list that I would like to pick up if the sale makes it to us...

I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of games set in China over the next few years.
Why do you think that? I can't imagine that becoming a trend. Like why would a zombie game or shooter take place in China? And the main character would have to be Chinese; if Sleeping Dogs, Stranglehold, and that Jet Li game were anything to go by, there's not a lot of interest there.

China is a huge market opening up to new or different consoles and western style games, so it stands to reason that some developers might gear games towards both markets to get the most return from their investment. That being said, Chinese people don't necessarily want to play games with a China setting. Also, i'm sure there are plenty of differences in China as well as other countries for preferences to platform, genre, setting, and pay model that developers can't simply make games completely "global" and just change the language based on the country.

Looks like I got my $10 code about two hours ago for anyone else waiting.
Yeah, I checked mine this morning and the code was posted to my sonyrewards account yesterday as well. Not sure about the exact time but all I really cared about was getting it before the weekend incase we get a flash sale or something good.

I typically don't post on forums during 4/1, so I'll let this be it for the day.

Axiom Verge - $17.99 - 20% Off
Nope. 10%.

Also...things like Thief being $30 as a "deal" irks me. It's been like $12 from the likes of both XBL and Best Buy recently. Who is Sony expecting to convince? Just 20% off Pixeljunk Monsters Vita? Pretty sure that was the price when it launched...three years ago. Are there morons out there really enabling this nonsense?

China is a huge market where most people have just a fraction of American purchasing power and who are extremely time poor - they don't have time to play consoles. The consoles also cost a lot more there than here: an Xbox One is $399 here but $599 USD there. That's more than a lot of people there make in a month. They would also never pay $60 USD for software, and it would likely cost more there. Free-to-play games, though, are extremely popular over there.

This is not directed specifically at you, but I feel like a lot of people who have never been to China feel like it will overtake the US as a world power because that's what the media implies.

Agreed. The retail game "sales" are pathetic.

I know your comment wasn't directed specifically at me and I am no China expert, however, there are some facts as a counter-point. Microsoft and Sony are pursuing console sales in China. Activision is marketing Call of Duty there. Chinese companies like Tencent are investing heavily in US game development/publishing. I understand that China overall is much poorer than other countries, but that appears to be changing somewhat rapidly and there are apparently already enough people with enough money for companies to pay attention.

As I said, I don't think this means we'll see a large market shift resulting in the rest of the world getting Chinese games, but it is possible that there may be some influence.

Believe it or not, Sony's having an April Fool's Flash Sale.   I guess they're trying to be ironic?   Kind of wide spread, some Ubi and EA, but also some psp/vita stuff.  Oh, and some NIS and Square Enix stuff if you're into that.   Flash sale link on web store, and I'm guessing the console stores too.  Odd that it isn't on a friday like Flash sales usually are... maybe Frisky's right and we'll get an Easter sale too.   Prices are pretty good for this one, 60-80% off.

It's actually pretty genius of Sony, as I'm sure some of you are debating hard whether to check or not.  Not my fault, blame Sony for having a sense of humor.

I love my Vita... they pulled down the banner. First a couple games were added (Dynasty Warriors 8 at least) then it just disappeared. Probably isn't meant to be up till 2pm PST like normal. So... I guess it's a waiting game. Sale looked good.
