:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Agreed. I would probably remote play it from the PS4 if I get it.

btw how does the class of heroes play on the vita since they were psp games? do the graphics look blurry?
Haven't started those yet but I haven't had any issues with PSP games on the Vita looking any worse than they did on the PSP. Something like Class of Heroes that's 2D art should look just fine and I believe there's a couple filter options as well.

So I bought the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for Vita, having never played any MGS game before. If possible I'd like to start with MGS 1, but it's not available on Vita (the only PS console I currently own). Anyone know if there's any plan to make the PS1 Classic officially compatible with Vita?

Also, I know if you have a PS3 you can transfer the PS1 Classic version of MGS 1 to Vita and install it that way, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to transfer from PC instead. Knowing I would eventually play it somehow, I bought it and downloaded the PKG file to my PC, but the Vita Content Manager can't find it when I go to transfer it. Worst case scenario, I will buy a refurbished PS3 from Gamestop, download it on there, transfer it to my Vita, and then return the console, but if there's a method that requires less effort I would greatly appreciate hearing it.

Where do we go to see if a game has been on sale before?  I'm wondering if Castlevania: Lament of Innocence has ever been lower than $5.

ok I might give those a go........ I remember playing freedom unite on the vita and it just didn't look right.

I bought it during the Halloween sale last year. It was $3.99 then with PS+. I think that's the only other sale it's had. For only a dollar more I think I'd just grab it now if I didn't have it already.

Alright so I'm 100% buying Catherine, since it's finally a perfect price for me to jump on it. I'm curious what else, if anything I should be getting. I'm trying not to splurge as the backlog's already miles long, but I was also considering either Demons Soul's, Ground Zeros. Opinions on either of them?

Well Demon Souls was amazing. I'm not sure how it holds up as it's been years now since I've played it but well worth $5 and is probably still great if you haven't played the newer Souls games.

Ground Zeroes I'm just going to say no because you don't want me starting on that.

Demon's is still the best Souls game in my opinion (although I recognize DS2 is probably better aside from some design issues like too many multi-bosses), and GZ is very good, esp for this price. Main game is short but there are side missions that can be pretty amusing.

Resonance of fate. Hardcore jrpg with one of the most unique and best battle systems. Good choice on Catherine.

I'm playing Catherine now and, while I don't consider it one of the best games of last gen, it's an incredibly fun and unique title that is worth every penny of that $5. I wish there were more games like it out there. And I urge anyone playing it not to wimp out and use easy mode, but stick with it on normal--it's far more satisfying that way and, after some practice, not as difficult as everyone cried about when it first came out.
To be fair, it's not as difficult as everyone cried about when it first came out because they patched it to make it a bit easier after everyone cried about how difficult it was when it first came out :D

welp spent $67

good game sony well played.

Yakuza Dead Souls

Disgaea D2

Hyper Dimension Neptunia Victory

Tails of Graces F + Xillia

The Witch and the Hundred Knight

The Guided Fate Paradox

All in All can't complain even though im buying a bunch of PS3 games when I just got a ps4 last month.

Anyone have thoughts on Skullgirls Encore at this price? Or should I just stick with getting Suikoden 2 and maybe Catherine? Not much else that really interests me when I'm trying not to spend too much

Ended up with

Conception II

Broken Age

Suikoden II

Metal Gear HD Collection Vita

Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes

Force Unleashed II DLC

Traded in my disc copy of Ground Zeroes to Gamestop. Now to figure out if I want The Guided Fate Paradox or not....

The only good thing about Dark Souls 2 is that it lets you map the jump button to L3. Everything else is absolute fucking trash. God damn, just thinking about that game pisses me off.

Demon's is great. Get that, person who asked.

My PS4 controller gets more use on my PS3 than it does on my PS4. The PS4 is merely a glorified Spelunky playing machine.

I Loved Skullgirls Encore. I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on the PS4 version. If you do get it, pick up the free dlc (Beowolf: playable character). As Beowolf will not be free for long.

Catherine is also very good. It has alternate story endings; Good, & Bad. The bad ending is oh so good. It left me with weird dreams of pushing blocks :).

So, people keep referring to Demon Gaze as a dungeon crawler, but it's still a turn based JRPG, right? Guess when I think of dungeon crawlers, I think hack n slash or action RPG.

depends on what you want... if you want RPG, go for Suikoden. If you want an arcade fighter, go with Skullgirls. If all else, go with Catherine. Any of these three are good, but if I had to rank them: Suikoden > Catherine > Skullgirls

when you say dungeon crawler, I think Wizardry, Class of Heroes, Dragon Quest mainly... could also be Diablo-esque.

how is psp/vita atlus games work on ps vita? do you need your ps3 to make it work on your vita or you down load the game straight to your vita? the graphic get upgrade on your vita? how is the control?

Ended up putting $25 in my wallet and picked up Suikoden II and Hatsune Miku Project Diva F so far. Really happy with Hatsune Miku too, wasn't expecting to enjoy the game so much and the music is super catchy.

Just so everyone is aware, in case you weren't, if you backed Amplitude at the $35 tier or above, harmonix is going to be sending out $20 psn codes soon. So keep that in mind.

I'm looking for a dungeon crawler and trying to actually reduce my backlog, so if you could only pick one of the following which would it be: Conception II, Class of Heroes 2 (done waiting for 2G) or Demon Gaze?  Don't really care about story and prefer which has the deeper character customization.

Are any of the psp/vita playable games worth getting? I'm looking at class of heroes 1 and maybe 2, growlanser, gurumin, Knights in the nightmare (always been curious about this one, and that's a doable price to try it out) . I'm a fan of rpgs, but more so for turn based and strategy, not much for action). Am I missing anything that fits those rpg categories?

Which title should I buy for my first foray into the Atelier series? Love my JRPGs, visual novels, and tactical RPGs as genres.

Suikoden II

It's a PSOne classic, but definately worth getting as fa as turn-based RPGS go.
