Decent update. I'll probably beat Guacamelee again - is there anything new aside from co-op? Murasaki and Ether look interesting too. 

I really need to go with my instincts in terms of predicting when games will go free for Plus....totally went against them when I bought Hohokum. It was interesting but not worth the $12 I paid for it. I've paid a buck for Android games that are just as creative.

Placing bets on Helldivers going free next month by August  :pray:

Also, I have to give a shout-out to Motorstorm RC which I think is on sale (or at least its bundled form has dropped in price). It's incredibly fun and original. It reminds me of that Stewart's Super Off Road arcade game and makes me wish for a successor to the best retro racing game ever, RARE's RCA Pro-AM:

Toren had my interest but after reading a few reviews, it sounds a lot like many of the Indie titles we've gotten with PS+ - - enticing but mediocre, buggy and just not worth the effort (case in point, this month's Tower of Guns and Aaru's Awakening).

Thinking even if it was not really a price drop, the only thing I will get is Motorstorm RC.

I don't know about this. I have the PT demo, my PS4 has been connected to the Internet since this whole fiasco and I still have access to my games.

I think there would be a much louder roar on the net if this was happening on a large scale. Maybe just something funny happened to this guy's account and this is a coincidence.

Yeah, I don't know if anyone else has reported the problem, so take it with a grain of salt.

 
Does anyone know how the data usage for PS Now works? I've got Comcast( their service sucks btw) and they have a GB usage limit of 300 which is ridiculous if you want to stream Netflix etc. Any info on how GB Usage extreme PS Now is would be great.

wait till they start lying to you and you get some CS that are sob, We had a problem with our cable , worker goes let me pull up your account, Comes back and goes your bill is going to be 10 bucks higher cause you was getting a 10 buck retention discount, I Dont get a discount so you should not either so i removed it, I had to call up and speak to the higher ups to put it back on, hopefully that SOB got fired for pulling that crap

you should be able to stream around 30 hours of netflix on that i think i know it sucks At least with the WWE NETWORK 3 hours = 30 GB so 10 GB per hour?

Tempted by both Lost Orbit and Toren, but I feel like they will be free with PS+ sometime within the next year. I can wait.

Thanks for the reply. I figured the usage would be too high for me with everything else download. I tell you with the size of current Gen Games I've already had to give up Netflix altogether and am still almost going over.

I really hate everything about Comcast. Tell your friends.

what i hate about comcast is that they offer different deals to some and nothing to others. Right now i have Digital starter tv with 25speed net with modem and x1 for 88 a month locked for 2 years I told my uncle about this so he calls and they go, Yea we can give that to you for 129.99 a month. WTF how is that even right they can offer something to one person and then not to the other

Too bad that every time I'm all fuck Comcast it takes about 5 minutes to realize that going to WoW or AT&T is going to be significantly worse. At least the merger to screw everyone even further got called off.

 
Yeah my options are satellite, ATT, and Comcast. Comcast has the worst CS with the best performance. I pay for 50Mb and get 55-60Mb consistently but their CS sucks so bad.

ATT is better on their customer front but the service is awful.

The 300GB data cap should be illegal in 2015

The stand alone will probably get a sale at some point, the DLC probably not as likely since DLC never seems to drop these days.

It's a soft cap but if you habitually abuse it month after month you'll get throttled and eventually lose your service.

They were I thought.. but I guess they brought them back last year, oh yeah.. one of the FCC board members is Comcast VP. :roll:

If you have Concast do what I did, I went to Concast business, they can't put a cap on their business accounts.

I'm moving soon and where I'm going Concast isn't there. (yet...)

I wouldn't recommend it all, even if you really like TLOU. It's really short (about 1.5 hours if you explore a lot) and adds nothing to the story.

Yeah but isn't Comcast business ridiculously expensive? I'm paying $89.99 a month now for my internet and cable together. To just get the 50Mb internet was $67, so I figured it was worth the extra $13 for my amc and HBO fix.

I was told business internet is like 250-300 bucks

This seems weird. Many people regard Left Behind as one of the better DLC items ever made. It also fleshes out some back story pretty well. Am I missing the sarcasm in your post?

hardly. Business for me was less than $5 difference. I have the 15mb service for $50-something and the residential 15mb was like $49.99. When I did the change 20mb was the highest, so i'm sure I could get faster now but like I said i'm moving.

But going back to what another CAG posted.. YMMV with Concast. My parents have the Internet/TV/Phone package from Concast and pay more for their Internet than I do.. with 10mb speeds.

Honestly, I don't know why. Everything that happens in it is said by Ellie at the end of the main game. Unless your mind is blown by two girls kinda kissing for like a second.

Actually, maybe that is the reason, since gay representation in games is still unfortunately pretty minimal. Even so, it felt strangely exploitative, like it was so lewd and forbidden or something. It definitely wasn't some revelation that's essential viewing.

Like, make no mistake, it's kinda alright as the equivalent of a deleted scene on a Blu-Ray or something, as it's included with TLOU Remastered, but if I had actually paid money for it by itself I would have been hella pissed.

My trophy from the brick-throwing thing (pretty close to the beginning) to the one for completing the DLC are 1:20 apart. So it might be closer to 2 hours but that's even with wandering the mall and trying to find everything. And probably some points where I paused the game to do something else.

You should probably spoiler some of this.  Also, yes, the story is not essential, but for those looking for more TLOU, it's a decent story and fun gameplay.  I'm not a huge fan of DLC overall, but i'd rather have new and fresh content like this rather than recycled areas with slightly different objectives or more multi-player maps.

I don't think any of it is spoilery, especially this far from release. SPOILER, at one point you throw some bricks.

Like I said, it's ok as a supplemental thing, but selling it by itself is laughable to me. It's nowhere near the quality of Burial At Sea Part 2, Undead Nightmare, or things like that. It even fell into the same traps as the main game in the last encounter, with enemies spawning in from nowhere. Because that's always fun.

 
For anyone interested in Badlands GOTY I have the regular iOS version.  It's a decent game but don't be fooled by the cool Limbo-esque graphics.  It's a single button flappy-like controled platformer where the forward movement is made while tapping/pressing the single button.  So don't expect deep play.  It's not as shallow as it sounds, there are some elements that come into play as you get deeper that require some skill to pass (shrinking/growing/alies/..etc).  I'm sure I won't pay the $9.60 ps+ price at launch as I already played the iOS version which went free for a couple days not too long after it launched in 2013, but it's certainly something to keep an eye on if you like more relaxing simple platformers.  Despite it not being one of my favorite games (just not complex enough for me), I'm glad to see some of these older iOS games get ported to better platforms (which I love iOS gaming but I'm not blind to how there's nearly zero buyer protection over there which has killed my enthusiasm and crushed my desire to spend anything on the platform).

It's delivering video. So from a usage standpoint, it's basically going to be Netflix. It's also sending your controller inputs but that's so little data it's not worth thinking about.

Yes, you did spoil some stuff, and I'm about to just play it for the first time (working through main game on Grounded on PS4 first).

Not everyone plays stuff at release, especially with games. I knew nothing about the DLC till I started to read your post. I don't care about 'throwing bricks', that wasn't what you spoiled.

I try not to spoil anything, even for PS1 jrpgs. Many people have backlogs, and it can take them years to get to something or they might just be of an age where it's the first time they're getting to play Suikoden or whatever.

Ellie's relationship with Riley was already mentioned in the main game, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out they were more than just friends. Even so, it's so tertiary to the real story that it's hard to consider it an actual spoiler. Even so, it's not my problem if you're taking this long to play THE BEST GAME OF 2013 according to some insane people. At a certain point you should be prepared for spoilers, especially if you admittedly have a large backlog. I'm not going to get mad if someone spoils a game from a year or so ago for me, and it's dumb to think otherwise.

Of course, considering this incredibly minor plot point is also probably the only thing of note in the DLC, that should give you an idea of how inessential it is overall. The best thing in it is actually pretty easy to miss, as it's just a small easter egg, but it did remind me of when Naughty Dog made good games.

I think your autocorrect feature misinterpreted the word "sorry" and just inserted a condescending paragraph about how people who don't share your same views are dumb. Might want to see if there's a software update available for that.

Also, no, the relationship complexities were not obvious from the main game. Sure, you could come up with that as a random theory, but I don't recall the main game having enough detail to come to that conclusion.

What is the best mlb the show that would be cheap to pick up? (so like 13 or prior)

Looking mainly just for a fun baseball game that includes some minor league stuff.
