:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Is that the Knack game with Jason Statham in it?
I wish it had Jason Statham in it, but thanks for the correction my phone out corrected to Krank for some reason. I am surprised that both Knack and Killzone have yet to be PS Plus games though.

That's an EU sale, which is why it ends next Wednesday.

The new PlayStation Underground features Shuhei Yoshida playing Bloodborne:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8FNU7W9AOQ
I died more times to the defiled watchdog than any other boss in bloodborne, but now that I've watched other people die to it over and over again it doesn't seem that hard. Just have to be patient and know when to attack.

Thanks I found a wiki page but it just made me more confused. Seems like there are 3 series involved. Maybe I'll just check out the last couple persona games...so persona is one branch, digital devil saga, and devil summoner are 3 separate series and the games only take place in the same world but are not direct sequels so it doesn't matter if you have not played them all.

A good month for PS+... though I don't know enough about these games except Rain (as I've been playing it the last week). I guess it'll be a nice surprise to explore stuff I probably wouldn't have bought.

As for Rain, it's for the most part pretty linear and may be beatable in one long sitting... but it's a nice game worth playing through. I'm glad I bought it when I did so if I ever give up on PS+, I'll still have this little gem.

so if you never played any persona games what the hell is the difference between the 3 series...is there a nice page somewhere that explains them or should I just find reviews for each game?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megami_Tensei

There are more than 3 series... the wiki really overs all the variations including different game type elements. But for most of the standard games these are all RPG's with turn based battles. So it's not far off from any other turn based rpg series except in how Demons are used. From what I read the games are all largely separate from one another so you can pretty much pick up any of them. Some are more loved than others but I don't think any are just outright unloved by all the fans. Even Demikids (which I've read some hate on) has plenty of people that love em.

Er, well... I'd suggest just picking one of the Persona's and starting there. But there are more than 3 series once you count all the spinoffs. But it all starts with the main series Megami Tensei / Shin Megami Tensei. Then the spinoffs get thrown in, which the most prolific is the Persona series. Then there's the Devil Summoner series. Outside of that there's Last Bible, Devil Children (aka DemiKids), and Maijen Tensei (more Fire Emblem than pure SMT). Oh and there are a few games beyond that not to mention the side games within each branch.

I barely understand it all myself.

Ugh, I bought Styx on a Xbox One sale a few months ago and never got around to it.  First world multi-platform problems!  Rain is a fun little game, well worth playing.

The predecessor was a PSN exclusive on PS3 called Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars.
I suddenly became less excited about this game. SARPBC was nowhere as good as I had hoped. Free is free though so I'll give it a try.

Finally beat Batman: Arkham Asylum and got all of the collectible stuff, though I'm not interested in doing the other stuff needed for the Platinum. Great game. I'm looking forward to playing Arkham City at some point.

If you haven't touched any of the Arkham games and got Arkham Asylum from PS+, give it a shot since it still holds up really well.

So I guess this means no 5-year Anniversary PS+ sale for the U.S. unless Sony shocks us with two flash sales in a row.

Oh, and sounds like the EU is having a "Summer of Digital" sale with four weeks of sales on digital only games. Would love to see something like that here.

The EU seemed to get shafted in the past but looks like they are doing some good stuff over there now.

another piss month for the vita   they could not even sell these games for 99 cents   let alone give them away free

The move to more PS4 games just means I won't be using my 1 year card anytime soon.  Don't plan on buying a PS4 till Uncharted 4.

Suit yourself. I think it's stupid to not grab any of the games that are offered, ever.

All he does is bitch about the games, every month.
I have more than enough games. I would rather spend money on the games I want. I have not played my PS3 in over 6 months. When I do reactivate my PS+ there will be dozens of games I can play plus I game share with my Dad so all the PS3 games I have missed will be there for me anyway.

Well no... The ps plus games you missed won't be there. Sony changed ps plus awhile ago so instead of an instant library of games it's 6 games on rotation every month. You can wait to deactivate your subscription but you won't be able to simply download offered titles that you missed while your subscription was inactive l. Only the tiltes for that month.

Yes. Like I said my Dad has PS+ so all the games for the PS3 will be available for me to play if I download them from his account on my PS3.

Interested in Toukiden Kiwami for Vita but not digitally (unless it goes super cheap).

I thought Styx was surprisingly fun.  Now I wish I hadn't bought it on XOne!  I hope the port of Geometry Wars 3 is good....  and that it is PSTV compatible.

I don't remember a lot of sales on the original Toukiden.  Debating buying it for PS4 now, but it would be about the most I have ever spent on a digital game.  Can anyone push me over the edge?  Is multiplayer active?

no all they toss in indie crap every month for the vita. cant remember last time a good game has been on the PSN+ side for the vita.. This is why i wont buy the 64GB card after the E3 showing with the vita and how they talked about it. I will be very shocked if they even support it next year cart wise.. I say pure digital by the end of the year, and most companies will pull their support by next summer. Doubt we will see another handheld from sony it will be like it was back in the 80s.. Nintendo and nintendo alone with handhelds (until the game gear came what was nice)

I have a feeling we could get a 4th of July sale tomorrow.  It wouldn't be unheard of to have a flash sale after a flash sale either.  But if not, no big deal.

After finishing Rain to 100% last night I went ahead and hit the store to download Unfinished Swan and Brothers... in the process I started looking through my Download list.  It's nearly to 900 items for PS3 (Vita & PSP too since I was on the PS3).  Just looking through the list of actual games it really is clear I have a megaton load of games to play.   I think this weekend I'm going to work on making a spread sheet with every game I own on PSN then dig through my PSN folder in my email and put a price with each and see what I have invested in the store.  It'll make picking out my next batch of games to play easier if I can see what I already have (not forgetting the 50+ retail games waiting for my attention).

I think I'm good for the next few years easily while I wait for Shenmue 3.  Plus Yakuza 5 is being worked on still and should be out later this year and I'm inching ever closer to finally importing the EU version of Way of the Samurai 4.  So I may be set for this generation and then some... especially with PS+ giving me some cool indie stuff and solid retail games each year.

Some new stuff on the web store:

Minecraft: PS4 Edition - Minecon 2015 Skin Pack - Free

Minecraft: PS3 Edition - Minecon 2015 Skin Pack - Free

Minecraft: Vita Edition - Minecon 2015 Skin Pack - Free

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - New Quest: Where the Cat and Wolf Play - Free

The Minecon 2015 Skin Pack is only available until 7/15.

Seems that yesterday's update added classic/PC crafting and the ability to change world settings without leaving the game.

They also released a LittleBigPlanet Mashup Pack (texture pack, skins, and a pre-made example world) for $4:

Kind of doubt it. They've been doing them on the back half of the month since they started doing them monthly and holiday centric sales are usually for holidays recognized in more than one country.

EU got a 5th anniversary sale.. US did not.

They have different sales for each region, I think only the PS+ games are the same everywhere.

Someone just posted the Namco sale Sony has currently, but not here in the US...

I don't think it's likely that we do have a flash sale two weeks in a row myself, but i's love to be wrong. (as long as there are some great deals on great games)

Worst case no sale for the 4th... but then looking back...

2014 there was a sale...

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/07/01/playstation-store-update-349/

Oh and 2013 there was the Summer Blast:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/07/01/psn-summer-blast-hot-discounts-starting-tomorrow/comment-page-6/

Oh and 2012 there was a Sega sale & Atlus Sale for the 4th (we are currently in an Atlus sale and had the Sega sale last week)

2011 had an EA sale, though I think they had sales during other years for the 4th.

Maybe it's more crazy to think we won't have a sale.  But then again this year has been the exception for a lot of store sales traditions.  15 for 15?    Then again we had that 20th anniversary sale in January.  So who knows.  It may not happen or it may... it seems like there's a better than normal chance someone will have a sale if not Sony then a publisher sale.

I beat defiled WD on my first try. Oddly enough the boss before him I was stuck on for two days :/

Lab Zero (Skullgirls) announced their next game called Indivisible:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgLtNAKTjhw

"Indivisible is a new action/RPG IP, starring Ajna (AHZH-na), a girl who sets out on a globe-spanning journey to discover the truth behind her mysterious powers. On her quest she’ll be joined by a variety of unique heroes and gain new abilities to traverse the environments and defeat the enemies they’ll encounter along the way.

Indivisible is inspired by classics like Valkyrie Profile and Super Metroid, but with the unique characters and gameplay depth Lab Zero is known for. In addition to a fresh spin on action/RPG gameplay, Indivisible features a deep storyline inspired by southeast Asian and other world mythologies, Lab Zero’s trademark feature-quality 2D hand-drawn animation, and a lush soundtrack from legendary Secret of Mana composer Hiroki Kikuta."

No platforms yet, but they're planning on launching an IndieGoGo campaign soon to help fund it.
