Ah, paid dlc cars. I figured something like this would come. Hopefully for gamers it doesn't turn into a pay to win where the dlc cars have stats above what are normally in the game.

They've been upfront about offering DLC cars and such since the PS+ announcement. Did you think they were just going to give their game away for PS+ at launch and not try to capitalize on it to make some more money?

 
I'd like to see some wild arenas and cars with different abilities in Rocket League, but probably would be good as an expansion / new game modes, which I'd be happy to pay for. Just don't want to see the current games lopsided whether it's paid DLC or not.

Been trying to download PSP games from PSN to a new (well, newly opened) PSP system and it keeps telling me that I already have 3 PSPs on my account. The only PSP that
I've ever downloaded games to is my PSP Go, but I do have a Vita and a PSTV on my account. Is PSN counting the Vita and the PSTV as PSPs? If so, I don't know how to deactivate the Go since PSN will not let you see the serial numbers of the systems on your account.

This is why Nvidia Shield Portable is the best PSP model of all...whoops, did I just say that?

They're just new models with no advantaged like the rest. The other car in the pack is a sports car-style model. New maps are going to be free and there will still be other free items as DLC. They're handling it the right way.
 
My intent in talking about Rocket League paid dlc was not to rile anyone up, just raise a legit concern.  If the stats are truly the same (including turn radius) and the hitboxes on the new cars match perfectly to existing cars then it shouldn't be an issue.  If the hitboxes are unique to those cars then it could create and an advantage (or disadvantage) for the paid cars.  I guess we'll see what happens when they come out and how they affect the game.  I read some comments on other forums about how the turn radius, power sliding ability and the head to head power between vehicles seemed slightly different between some of the vehicles (with people running tests to verify)... if true then the basic stats may be the same but the overall vehicle control would factor into the physics and influence the game.  So even if the stats and hitboxes are all the same, there are other factors that could provide advantages.

I'm not invested in the game for myself.  I'm mainly playing PS3 and PSTV stuff for probably the next two years or maybe more.  They can screw it up completely and it won't ruin my day.  I'm not some fan of some other similar game (does one even exist?) or some hater for the platform or dev.  I am not a troll and have never understood the enjoyment some people get in causing others to anguish.   My oldest son is the one playing this on our PS4 and last time I talked to him about it  he seemed to think it was good fun.  I hope for him it stays that way without feeling pressured to buy these cars to stay competitive.

Weather the game was acquired through PS+ or Steam or as a regular PSN gamer for $20 or on yet another platform shouldn't really matter when a concern is raised.  I paid for my PS+ subscription, I'm sure the dev had to have made something from my payment for this game.  Maybe it was only a quarter, but a million+ quarters is still a heck of a chunk of change at launch for a game.

Ok that out of the way, Way of the Samurai 4 comes out today on steam and the pre-order there has been on sale for $15 (well at least for the next few min).  I was hoping the PS3 version might go on sale ... but no dice.  Still, I really feel like I want to go with an EU physical release anyway.   Not that I need it now, it's just one of the last few games on my list that I really want for my PS3 along with Yakuza 5 whenever that comes out here.

Yes, it counts each of them as a PSP, if you've installed PSP games to it. For my account, at least, it differentiates between the PSP and Vita systems, and you can rename each to match the device. Reactivating takes no time at all, anyway.

Only the highest level players would ever even notice the extremely minute differences between hitboxes of cars, let alone have the skills to take advantage of them in any meaningful way.

I've been playing with a vehicle that looks like a big van just in case that makes the hit box larger. Judging from my performance, hit box size talk is indeed only for the highest level players.

Rocket League is mindless entertainment. 

Matches are not that long and the concept of the game/controllers are super easy to grasp.

I haven't tried ranked matches yet so I might suck at the game but it's been pretty easy scoring a few shots per game.

Speculation goes like this, since the PS4 version is a year late.. they'll be getting all the DLC free, while the XB1 version will get a complete/goty version as well when the PS4 version is released.

The main point is because, who would want to play a game that's a year old.. just on a different console. So they'd need to offer an insentive.

Actually, they already announced it the PS4 version will be a lower price point than the XB1 version due to the wait. AND there might be free DLC..... AND higher res. So yeah, I have both consoles and am WAITING.

All I read was the IGN article, and the comments were speaking about the DLC and "Superior version" so I thought it was speculation and gossip.

I've never seen it go on sale. I've jumped on a couple of those, but they only offered the staples (FF7-9, Chrono Trigger/Cross). I honestly didn't even know it was on PSN until now!

I was probably going to buy this on Xbox 1 *just* cause it was exclusive.. but wait a year and get the PS4 version? Sold!

Any bonus DLC will be just that, a bonus.

When it comes to multi console games, I go PS4. Xbox is only for Exclusives. (Same with 3DS/Vita. I'll go Vita unless I can't get it there)

So yeah, i'll wait now. Cause you know.. backlog anyway.. :lol:

I prefer my PS4 for interface and controller over the XB1.

However the XB1 is fun and has some great games, it just doesn't feel as good.

Which is odd, I was all about the 360 due to it's interface and etc during the 7th generation.
