Question about Diablo 2 - bnet, cd-key's, etc.

Hey everyone,

Quick question.

My friend had me sell his Diablo 2 and expansion. Both came with the cd-keys. He hadn't played in years.

I know you can install and play single player with any cd-key, but as long as he is not online the buyer should be able to play online, right?

That is what I thought happened  with the old blizzard games. Though I haven't been on Bnet since Brood War was still new.

If you  install the game via CD/ISO then you input the key during installation. Connecting to battle.net will be successful or not. If not, it will say cd key in use by "xxxx" (whatever the user who is using the key entered in for his name during his d2 install).
