Question about LCD TV's and Flat Screen

I recieved a LCD for christmas and apparently it was stored on its screen, so it didnt work. Then the store said make sure you don't transport them like that. I was wondering if flat screen tv's are the same?

What kind of flat screen? For far as I know: no LCD, Plasma, or projection TVs should be stored face (screen) down. I have no idea on CRTs though...

its a CRT. I'm switching it w/ a LCD and wondering if it would matter how i moved it.
