Question for AV gurus

So I'm trying to piece together a system for someone and I'm wondering whether these components would go well with each other.

ONKYO 7.2-Channel Black Home Theater Receiver TX-NR807 x1
Polk Audio Monitor 40 Black Two-way bookshelf loudspeaker x2
Polk Audio Monitor 70 Black Floorstanding loudspeaker x2
Polk Audio CS20 Black Center Speaker x1

I still am looking for a subwoofer and possibly 2 more speakers (if they can fit in my budget). What I have right now is ~$1500 on Newegg, and I would say that the my budget cap is $2000 for everything.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Is the more expensive network receiver necessary? You can easily get away with a less powerful, non-networked receiver unless there is some feature that your friend absolutely needs on that other one.
