Is it weird that I'm really sad about this? Either way, he was a genius and will be very missed. I feel as if I'm obligated to buy a MacBook now but I guess I'll settle for the iPhone 4S when it comes to Sprint next month.

I believe Apple will move on forward just fine though, I'm sure he's mentored many co-workers that he envisioned to be a younger 'him' that will carry on his ideas.
