Most of the stuff that Gamestop price drops tends to be in line with universal price drops, but because not all of them are, this thread is warranted. Also, if the price of the new item has dropped in price, expect the used item price to similarly follow suit and be $2-$5 less than its new retail price. Sometimes the used version drops first, but both are often around the same time.

Many of these items are sold out in stores since they're old and won't get restocked (Gamestop, after all, tends to make most of its money from selling used games), so you'll have to do a zip code store search for the appropriate title to hopefully find it in your area if you can't buy the item online.

All of this information is presented on the Gamestop website, but because of their new "Price Drop" algorithm, it doesn't really display when new price drops hit. Since I started keeping a running list for current platforms, I figure its easy enough to do a comparison to my lists every week. I generally run the reports once a week on Wednesday mornings, because I've noticed most price drops occur on Monday or Tuesday mornings so I wanted to catch those on the weekly report. If you find price drops sooner than my weekly Wednesday morning report, feel free to post them in the thread so others can get a "head start". I no longer have time to maintain this thread due to my new job but feel free to continue posting Gamestop price drops in this thread or if anyone wants to take over just let me know. Thanks!

Just horrible as always, GS has nothing that can compare to the other superior stores. Thing is that I sadly have most of my mulla on my Edge card, once I spend that thing my feet will never touch GS territory again.

Wow seems they can be found sealed for 12 + shipping..... too bad MSFT cash back is now only 8%

about 17 bucks after cash back o well since the game was opened when i got it I doubt i can take it back

got to wonder if that person who only got 5 shipped forit will really send it

Of course the person will. The person who sold it has 100% feedback so need not worry.

There seems to be a taboo on ebay here because I rarely see it mentioned. I have saved thousands of dollars shopping on there. I hardly ever buy games new in stores because this site may have 5-10 dollars off on the day of release. The site is easy to use and is partnered with Paypal and offers great buyer protection. The feedback system is a well kept system. As a buyer just pay attention to that. For those who are scared to try it, there's no reason to be. Getting ripped off at gamestop is more common than ebay.

I certainly have issues with Gamestop, but as far as I know, they have never ripped anyone off. Ebay sellers and buyers for that matter engage in all types of fraud on almost a daily basis. Buying new release games on Ebay is often not worth it since shipping kills the deal and nowadays Amazon and other sites are pretty quick to drop prices on items. Paypal's buyer protection is a complete joke, as is their seller protection from my experience. Your ad for Ebay has nothing to do with the topic, so please refrain from posting further on the subject.
 
Neither does your negativity towards the website. Gamestop buybacks are a joke. Those are the kind of ripoffs I'm talking about.

The guy was looking for a game and there was one on there for $5 shipped. A much cheaper solution.
 
Was out on vacation last week so I didn't post last week's drops - this week's is more a compilation of anything that dropped within the past two weeks. Most of the notable stuff have their own threads already, like the Ubisoft triple threat of PoP, FC2, and EndWar and PS3 BioShock. A few others to note are Mass Effect to $20 now, and Devil May Cry 4 to $30. The PC games also saw a couple decent drops too like Spore Galactic Edition to $50 and Warhammer Online to $40.

Lots of drops this past week but not necessarily a lot of good stuff. Some good DS drops as yakkotank mentioned and BFBC is a temporary price drop. Also of note is Ninja Gaiden II and Lost Odyssey to $30 and Age of Empires Mythologies to $20. Didn't that game just come out? It must have totally bombed...

The wow battlechest might be a limited time drop. My GS had posters advertising the new price, saying it was limited until sometime near the end of this month. Just a heads up for those interested.

Interesting, I went to GS yesterday and noticed that Lost Odyssey, Battlefield BC, Infinite Undiscovery and well many other titles on the list were tagged at full price... I didn't bother to ask while I was there, since there was quite a lot of people.

Is this just employees not updating the tags on these or is this online only maybe?

almost always employees not updating the tags. once they ring them up it will be the price they are online.
 
I knew I shouldn't have rushed to get Battlefield Bad Company for $20. I thought it was temporary sale. Guess not. Could've waited. Oh well
