I am trying to find some new comedies to buy for Christmas for my son, so they should be relatively clean. Old or new is okay. Some examples of our tastes: His favorite is Spaceballs. We also have and enjoy Three Amigos, UHF, Disorderlies (with the Fat Boys), Airplane. I'm already thinking of checking out the Naked Gun series with him. Any other suggestions?
Spaceballs is clean? I'm surrounded by assholes.
I assume he meant clean in the sense of not full of rampant profanities, sex jokes, nudity etc. Space Balls is pretty clean compared to stuff like Harlem Nights, Friday, Superbad, Wedding Crashers etc.

I think most of the Mel Brooks movies are relatively clean (spaceballs and men in tights, but also history of the world pt.1 and blazing saddles).

Along the vein of spy hard and airplane there are the Hot Shots! movies too.

I always thought the Marx brothers movies are pretty good and criminally overlooked in the modern era.

How about Ace Ventura or Dumb and Dumber.

Mel Brooks and Leslie Nielson are all a young man really needs. Also, Wayne's World, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Caddy Shack, and Back To School were staples me and my dad would watch when I was younger. That latter 2 have some nudity/sex in them though.

Honestly, I recommend the recent Three Stooges DVD volumes that have come out. I'm not sure of his age, but the Stooges are for everyone, provided you tell him not to slap people for real.

Captain Ron - Always fun

Happy Gilmore/Billy Maddison - Cant go wrong with these two, Adam sandler is good for any kids.
wrongfull accussed. Leslie nelson. great "clean" comedy.

Great outdoors.
Damn, I wanted to say Great Outdoors. So, I'll say the beach version: Summer Rental.

"You're gonna die, Clown!"

Also, Dirty Work is pretty much good times.

Also, The Goonies...It's not exactly comedy. But if your kid hasnt seen The Goonies, then there is something seriously wrong with you. No child should be deprived of the Truffle Shuffle.

Oh, and The Gods Must be Crazy. I think there's a bit of nudity in the beginning and even in the end, but it's... well, it's tasteful. And there for a reason. And... well, completely non-pornographic. The Bushmen of the Kalahari just don't have a lot of clothes, okay?

Prostitute Jokes, fingering dog anus, prison rape, skunk on dog sex are the hallmarks of clean comedy?

:whistle2:s

Here's a small sample:

WAKE UP SLUT! Well, well, well, we meet again... NOSE BITER! TIME TO PAY THE FIDDLER, WHORE!

I

I came in to mention The Great Outdoors, but I see it's been covered. Maybe Adventures in Babysitting. I remember loving that movie when I was a kid. Also, any of the Ernest movies.

Oh shit I forgot about Ernest. I liked those when I was a kid too.

And about Monty Python - I don't think it's for kids. I think a kid would think a lot of Monty Python movies are boring, their jokes are more verbal.

Thanks, guys. Keep them coming. I forgot to mention that we also loved Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. I also appreciate the annotations of what you remember seeing in them. A few things here or there (ala Spaceballs) I don't have a problem with, but I think you all have steered clear of the raunchy ones for the most part. And he did like most of the Marx Bros. movies and we've watched and laughed at the Three Stooges stuff, so he appreciates the classics, too (even if they are a little slower paced to the jokes than the modern stuff).

Dracula, Dead and Loving It
Ghostbusters
School of Rock
Click
National Lampoon's Vacation and European Vacation
Monty Python and The Holy Grail
Back To The Future
Dumb and Dumber
I forgot to mention the Short Circuit movies. Those are great, especially for kids.
And one of the only movies mentioned so far that is reasonably clean.

Minus the robot-human sexual undertones...
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
I was just about to put that one down as well.

Also, The LadyKillers. Trust me Me and my dad found it very very funny.

For family viewing, might I suggest Rocketman?

Also, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure is spot on, and the Marx Brothers movies are great, like suggested before. Start with Duck Soup, and go from there!

The Princess Bride..."inconceivable!"
Also..A Christmas Story
Joe Versus the Volcano (i know..not the greatest movie)
