Red Dead Redemption Valid Redeemable?

For red dead redemption how do i figure out if the code works without trying to redeem it?

for example
i already have the Assassin outfit redeemed and i would want to know if another Assassins Outfit code is unused/redeemable?

Is this on Xbox or PS3?

I know for a fact that, after you enter a code on Xbox, it'll ask you if you want to Redeem *insert whatever here*.

So that way you could check.

Let's say I had a code for 12 month Xbox Live. I wold put it in, and after I pressed "Done", it would say "Do you want to redeem 12 month xbox live subscription?". There you can either put Redeem or Cancel.

NOTE : I don't know if Playstation 3 works like that and you can't check if you type it in on xboxlive.com, it will IMMEDIATELY redeem it so don't try that!
