Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 - $5 on Steam - ends 9 of june

Uh, no, you don't. Because it never was. It was once a UT2003/2004 mod, though. But Ostfront 41-45 is practically a whole new game from the mod version, so it's not like they took the same thing they were giving away for free, and suddenly started charging for it. It's hugely, hugely improved over the mod version, and is totally worth the money. It absolutely holds it's own as a commercial game.

And furthermore, why would you be cursing Steam, which is just a store/content delivery system, for the developer's decision to go commercial with their game?
 
On a further note, CS and DoD were mods as well, the team that developed the game didn't put all that hard work into it for the hell of it.

Also, $5, can't go wrong!
